My Star Bride is an excellent drama, beautiful, heartwarming and it deals with the real issues Vietnamese women…
done! It got my 3 votes :) I definitely would like to explore more Singaporean dramas. Hopefully this article will prompt people to vote/ignite an interest as well.
Wow, never have I thought I would see my own country drama in an article LOL. tbh, I think most of us singaporeans…
I think I tend to overlook shows my country as well XD Are there any older Singaporean dramas that you would recommend to watch? I just looked up A Quest to Heal. It seems like Xu Bin, who's the main actor in My Star Bride is in the drama as well. I might try to check it out when I have the time :)
Well I haven't watched the original version, but the story seems to be interesting...once I do see it I'll surely…
Thank you! My cast choice was either on I want to see them try something new, they have the skills for this, or they've done something similar. But if you do watch, let me know your thoughts. My PM box is always open :)
It's been a while since I watched this but it reminds me of Korean drama Golden Bride. But the female lead is…
I saw comments about the similarity and was thinking about checking it out as well but got kind of thrown by the number of eps. Would you say it's worth watching?
Thank you for taking the time to read it...a well-written villain does make a drama so much better! Can't wait…
It probably won't be as good as this as I felt each of the characters come alive from your guy's words but I'm hoping that you do check it out when it's published and if you get a chance to :)
I am glad you liked the article ....yep ...complex or you can say well written characters make make dramas more…
Definitely understand what you mean by seeing their descent into madness and I really see that flex on your guy's love for villains, so in-depth and good that it seemed like it was their story and not the actual lead's! I limited myself to only a few works so I probably won't have many but I'm glad you're looking forward to it. It may take me a couple more weeks as I don't have much time on my hands right now/lacking inspiration to write.
omg! I love this so so much! Anything with a good villain that has so much story and motivation behind them can definitely make a drama a lot better! I was thinking of writing something similar to this in terms of villains because I'm writing an antihero article that's been drafting for months now. You guys got to it first but I'm so glad you did! I'm 80% done with mine and I was so shocked to see that the same minds think alike - I'm doing a message with drama examples as well. I love that you guys went in-depth with the characters and their roles in the show. It really shows that you guys deep-dived into them.
It seems like every time I turn around I found new dramas with him singing the OST songs! So I just made a public…
I forgot to thank you for this really well-put-together and extensive list <3 I was in awe of how detailed you were when I was looking at it. Wish we can pin comments like YT so it'll forever be read as the first comment. I think fans would really appreciate this list :)
Your depiction of the drama characters makes me want to watch the original... how am I be able to find a chance…
If you have the time, I would suggest that you do. This was my first Singaporean drama, and it was quite fun. However, I understand that there's only so much time to fill in for dramas. There are so many I want to watch and have recommended to me that I have yet to get to/don't know when I will.
That 'Writer' role will make me impulsive and want to start too many articles that I cannot handle XD As always, thank you for your kind words :)
I will always choose Ashes of love instead of Love and Redemption, but I understand why many people like second.…
You just made me reminded of the reasons why it was AoL>L&R. I love what you broke down in your last paragraph as well. I honestly didn't connect that bit about how it on how their symbols related to their personality/character traits. I think that's why the Chinese language can blow me away because they always get so poetic and it's just beautiful!
Heehehe It is I! (≧◡≦) ♡Thank you so much giving this article your time !! I'm so glad you found my ramblings…
Yes! Even without the worst triggers it held my attention enough to watch them raw. I don't think I can do that now and I haven't done that in so long. It could be that I've been spoiled by eng subs as well ;)
I take a lot of things with a grain of salt so I don't mind what they have to say, but I do tread a bit more carefully about the things I can say. It's exactly what you have said! Even the more gruesome, offensive, and triggering things to look at are still being depicted on media and it's not for a mean for pleasure but for a deeper meaning. Trust me when I say I'll drop a drama/movie fast if it's just meaningless plot with troubling triggers to look at.
haha, even if you can't finish Kleun Cheewit, I don't think you'll miss out much. I feel like it's one of those plots similar to Sawan Biang, which you couldn't finish either. It's just probably not your cup of tea :)

Yes! older thai dramas really does have their charm. I'm curious if that's why I've lost interest in recent Thai dramas these past few years. I do know that some users make slap/kiss be viewed under such a bad light and actively shame those dramas that it makes me feel wrong liking these types of shows, especially older ones where I enjoyed watching when I was younger. But I'll still watch them anyways XD
I do have a feeling that Mark and Yaya have a hand in the popularity of Kleun Cheewit. It did help me actually realize that Mark is a pretty good actor. Prior to that, I didn't care too much for him.
SOJUU!! This was such an enjoyable read and you made me crack up so many times while I was reading your commentaries! XDD Not using logic for these dramas is a given, it'll just make the headache even worse!
Slap-kiss aka "If you slap me, I'll kiss you." Is one of those genres that I used to enjoy but not so much these days. It gets too spicy for me to handle lately, but I enjoy a good slap kiss every now and then. Btw, good job compiling a list that includes both new and old slap kiss dramas!
What you said about Kleun Cheewit, "Well received in the Slap-Kiss community" I don't really understand why it's so well received outside of it as well. There' so many people that are against "slap kiss" but raves about the drama. I don't understand why because I feel like it has a lot more triggers compared to some of the other ones that you mentioned in this list. Such as Maturot Lohgan, which I felt had little to no real slap kiss and I reallllly enjoyed it!
I can't wait for part two and what else you'll have in store for us! :D
This definitely has the spirit of an Asian drama!! I don't watch many J-dramas to know these actors but I don't doubt your picks as your choice of show is spot on! Loved the article!
