Haha you’re so right. It happens far too often and not just in second chance romances but also are basis for many break ups before the leads choose to get back together again. I don’t know if I’d call it selfish all the time but I definitely see why they’re generally called “Noble Idiocy”, lmao

I’ve said it time and again that I don’t agree with his actions but I do understand where he’s coming from.
First, he’s only obligated by the law to pay because he CHOSE to go that route. He most likely knew what was coming.
Yes, he did hurt her by making her believe that he betrayed her because he FEARED that she may still choose him. He didn’t want her life to be full of resentment or regret. He weighed his options and CHOSE one that he believed would benefit her in the long run. Yes she’s hurt now but she has the option to move on over time but he probably doesn’t have the option to give her a child or doesn’t want to. He made a stupid decision but has seemingly learnt to live with it. But only time will tell if he really is as okay as he seems!
Also if we are talking about things in realistic terms, you’d think a couple that’s been together for over 10 years would have had a conversation about kids at some point before marriage.

That’s the thing, I don’t think he’s ever fallen out of love with her. Why do you think he still pays alimony when he’s done nothing wrong? Why is he setting her up with his friend? It’s because he’s come to accept that he is unable to fulfil her needs. He’s not jealous because he’s had enough time to think and come to terms with his reality. He probably believes he’s doing what’s best for her. Granted, these are not his decisions to make and it’s unfair to not let the FL know but unless experienced first hand I think it’s quite ignorant to assume that everyone is open to other options. Even in this day and age how many infertile people IRL do you think go for adoption? It takes a very heavy toll on their mental health and not everyone can cope. He probably already feels less than and doesn’t want the FL to settle for him.

I don’t disagree but I also think it’s easier said than done. We’ve only been given snippets of their history, so we don’t really know the depths of their desire to have a baby. It’s most likely one of those noble idiocy tropes again but I can’t think of any good reason for any divorced couple to get back together because these stories are really hard to sell as it is.
What remains to be seen is if they go after what they want most or who they want most
I don’t think the ML was being truthful about his reasons for the divorce at all. It definitely goes much deeper than that. From his facial cues and his interactions you can clearly tell he likes children and from what I gathered with that talk with his ex(?), he wanted one since forever. His wife did too but it didn’t happen. So how convenient is it that she was introduced to someone he vetted, giving her a chance to realise her dream and now also for him, with being asked if he’d like to be Da Wool’s dad? You see where I’m going with this?
This is no terminal illness or fraud or crime but being childless is something both would have had to live with for the rest of their lives.
The girl has trauma from when she was a child (when her sister died), her father is a gambler and he left the…
In-Joo is the only one who witnessed the death of the third sister, In Hye wasn't even born at the time. In Hye was born later and she just happened to hallucinate what her mom told her when she was still a baby herself (how she understood what that meant at such a young age is beyond me but whatever). The other two sisters have also gone through the same shit or worse (especially In Joo) so, that's really no excuse to be a brat.
I find it very hard to sympathise with In Hye, to me she just comes across as ungrateful and the whole speech about not wanting to watch her sisters suffer seems like a guise to hide just that. Such BS! She wants her sisters by her side when she thinks she's about to die but not once she is sure that she won't die anymore? She can't have it both ways. She is way more spoiled in terms of love and affection than Hyo Rin is and keeps taking her sisters for granted as she wishes. She is in for a rude awakening!
ifkwim 😉
The writing is all over the place and nothing makes sense
But we seem to be going in circles now
