Now that finals are over and my semester has ended, I'm watching this drama and omg it is so good. I'm terribly addicted. I was waiting until winter break when I could watch this show and man, it is worth the hype around it. The emotionally gripping scenes, the script, my god the ACTING, the action scenes plus the Director and his beautiful cinematic camera work...this drama is awesome. I'm currently at episode 11 and will probably waste my whole night catching up. Plus Yoo In Ah and Byun Yo Hen, they have got to be one of two most handsome creatures walking on earth. And Kim Myung Min here is amazing. Like I knew he was amazing before because when I watched him in Beethovan Virus he was damn good, but here...I am just speechless.
Why is this show so draggy? Some of the topics in the plot can become pretty boring. I'm going to keep watching…
I think its nice we get to see the buildup but there are some scenes that just seem too prolonged. On the other hand, what I do like about this drama is that she's not motivated to loose weight just for revenge but for her actual health. I just hope the story progression picks up the pace.

It's not about the romance. I'm all about the romance taking it's time to build up. It's not that I'm anxious to see the two get together. Its just that I'm finding the progression of her "transformation" draggy. Today I've watched the first 4 episodes for the first time and just thought that the plot is taking its time moving along. Hopefully in episodes 5 we can get some progress, but judging from the previews, it seems we may wait a bit more. Maybe its because I'm not crazy about this drama or its plot, (Honestly just watching for Shin Min Ah and So Ji Sub) but I'll stick with watching this and see how they will continue.

I watched the first Meteor Garden a couple of years ago and never bothered to watch the second season. I think I did myself a favor back then. I spent the last 3 days watching episode after episode and felt highly frustrated with how the story twisted around. Like everyone says it gets draggy but some of the best moments in this drama has to be the story development of Ximen, Hua Lei and Mei Zuo.
This drama started off really good and got my attention. The script writing was excellent and I really rooted for Ha No Ra's independence from the suppressed life that she used to live. However, somewhere near the middle of this drama I grew bored and so I stopped watching. Even though I have dropped this drama, I'd def. still recommend people to watch this drama because it was entertaining. Lee Sang Yoon really made this drama work for me and so I enjoyed all of his over obsessive, worried-angst moments. (K-dramaland should really put those type of personalities to sleep. Seriously, it's overplayed)
So I'm on episode 11 and still can't figure out why she calls him "Skating Grandma"?
In the native language, it's a word play on his name. It being translated to English kind of throws it off.If you listen to her carefully you can hear her say his name but it's a word play on his name lol.
I know this drama is almost like the typical rich jerk guy falls in love with the humble/poor girl but I have been hooked on this drama since the first episode! Even though there are some cliche' moments and some cons in the acting but it's still really good and hilarious. I've grown to love the main love line so much that I don't want Xao Xi to end up with no one else but Liu Bang. I really love that she's always the one saving him when he's in trouble opposed to the guy saving the girl all the time. I can't wait for episode 11 to be subbed!
The Japanese adaption of this series was really entertaining to watch. I had many frustrating moments with both Kotoko and Naoki but I think their chemistry was good together.
I have to admit, it took me months to finish this drama but it was well worth it! The plot was slow during some times but I often found myself tearing while watching the show, thinking of Dong Yi's long journey from a lowborn to a high ranking consort!
Before I write a review I just want to make some comments about the last episode and this series in general. I…
For me personally it's a mix between Angry Mom and Kill Me Heal Me. Angry Mom had me so emotional, I laughed, I legit cried real tears and the story seemed very relate-able and real. It was different from most school dramas I've watched so I really enjoyed the many plot twists myself. And Kill Me Heal Me was a a great ride. What made it so entertaining was just Ji Sung for me. He's a good talent lol. But please don't misunderstand, Oh My Ghost def. comes out in my top 5 fave dramas of the year. This drama year is pretty slow as far as really good dramas with really good acting and storyline imo. But Oh My Ghost was another pleasant surprise for me.
Before I write a review I just want to make some comments about the last episode and this series in general.
I was quite satisfied with how the show wrapped up but I felt that there was this need to squeeze in all the Chef/Na Bong Sung interactions that were missing in episodes 1-10 into this last episode. I thought Soon Ae's leaving was too damn early. Even though I was happy she was able to pass on after resolving her grudge and FINALLY be able to talk/interact with the chef for some closure, there just wasn't nothing left for me to look forward to personally. The writers invested so much into Soon Ae's existence that it just seemed like with this last episode they were ready to end her character as quickly as possible as if they had to quickly take out the trash. Even if she was passed on, Soon Ae's character really did leave me missing to see her right at the end and I found the episode quite boring afterwards (Except for Seo In Guk's cameo...gosh he's hot lol)
Na Bong Song has grown so much within the last few episodes and I am proud of her. Even watching her near the end, It almost felt that Soon Ae's pervy/loud/fun personality merged with Bong Sun's 0_0. But I am glad Soon Ae's influence has changed her for the better and that she was able to keep a good relation with Soon Ae's father and brother. As far as her romance with Chef, it was a really nice ending. Seeing Chef crying over missing Bong sun was too cute.
Overall, this drama was not perfect. I wouldn't call this the best drama of the year (I have another drama on my mind lol) because there were things that happened in the drama that didn't make sense. The writers spent almost 75% on the Romance of Soon Ae and Chef that we didn't really get to see Na Bong Sung and Chef's romance bloom. Then after the 10 episodes of the romantic developments between Soon Ae and Chef, they all became abandoned and kicked to the curve after Soon Ae realizes her true reason for staying behind as a ghost and Bong Sun reveals the truth chef after getting tired of hearing him talk about someone else he was in love with. It was a complete switch that I wished the writers had balanced it more.
As a fan of the manga/anime, I have to say I was disappointed with how the story was different. I kinda disliked the beginning of the movie but as the story went along, I actually gotten really into. By the end I was fully engaged! The only thing I disliked about this movie has to be the CGI effects but the ending of this movie was totally fun/satisfying to watch.
I felt bad for Bong Sun in the last episode but honestly it needed to be done. I'm sure Seon Woo likes her for her but at the same time, you can not dismiss the fact that Soon Ae really influenced his life and he fell for her, not Bong Sun. I hope Soon Ae can peacefully end things with Seon Woo and then Seon Woo could start anew with BongSun. Romance aside, I'm very anxious to see Officer Choi's downfall.
I saw some comments of people being frustrated that Soon Ae is stealing Bong Sun's love line but in ep 10 I think…
The writer does seem to struggle with balance as you have mentioned. Maybe in the next 6 episodes, the writer can tie things up nicely? Bongsong is a character I want to know more about but I still find myself leaning towards Soon Ae. A ghost is a ghost so I can only picture a bad ending for her.
