I saw some comments of people being frustrated that Soon Ae is stealing Bong Sun's love line but in ep 10 I think…
You make some good points. It's interesting because Bong Song and Soon Ae relate to each other in the most interesting way. Both haven't really lived their life to the fullest. Soon Ae sacrificed most of her time "making ends meet" while Bong Song was preoccupied with dealing with seeing ghosts (which explains her constant fatigue in the beginning) and bustling around a restaurant too shy to interact with her own co-workers.
With Bong Sun,I just feel like she's still ways away from really getting the guts to live out her own life. When she made that agreement with Soon Ae to help her get the Chef, I felt like there was still this weakness in her that didn't believe in herself. She was strictly against having Soon Ae posses her in the beginning, but as she noticed things changing in her life, knowing her own personality, she, herself knew she wouldn't be confident enough to live the way she wants to live. This is where Soon Ae steps in. Bong Song seems happy that Soon Ae is changing her life for her, but at the same time, she doesn't know how this is also affecting Soon Ae. In the end of ep 8, I was really happy when Soon Ae backed out of Bong Songs body just to let her experience that special moment of Seon Woo confessing to her. Even if it was shock to her, there was a moment where Soon Ae felt she was crossing a line.
In ways, yes it seems like it's all about Soon Ae. As said before, the only details were learning about is Soon Ae's life. The writers don't explore more into Bong Song's life as much and I wonder how all of this will tie over in future episodes. I'm rooting for Bong Song to really change in the most positive way but overall I'm just invested in Soon Ae's character. She's suddenly caught these feelings that she doesn't even know how to handle however she's only a ghost and realize that she can't really do anything about it. Plus, she'll probably have to learn about her death all over again...poor soul.
I saw some comments of people being frustrated that Soon Ae is stealing Bong Sun's love line but in ep 10 I think we are really getting to see progression with Soon Ae. Here is a ghost who had literally no life, no type of social life neither love life when she was alive.
Even though she is using someone else to settle the grudge that she thinks is more important to her than anything, I feel like her relationship with Seon Woo is making her realize the feelings of actually being loved and at the same time, feel guilt for being with someone who she can't fully be with. Before she was just a pervert ghost, preying on men just to carelessly get what she wants. Now that she's met Seon Woo and is following the motions of liking and being with someone, she's starting to understand that just having sex with someone won't make her happy.
I pity her deeply. She lost her life at a young age, yet I feel like she deserves this type of happiness.
What I like about this drama is that even though Soon Ae led the horse (Seon Woo) to the water (Na Bong Seon), Seon Woo is still deeply attracted to the quiet Na Bong Seon. There is a chemistry there that sets my heart thumping. Seon Woo accepts all sides of her, even when he finds her most frustrating and I find that most charming about him.
I'm kind of glad we don't get too much of an emotional background with Na Bong Seon because honestly, I feel like it would be too much of an overload. The writers never explored her background and from what we only know is that she is weak and shy, has had a crush on Seon Woo since forever, wants to become a chief because of him and is also scared of being followed by ghosts. I would have thought the writers would let Na Bong Seon and Soon Ae learn from each other, but the more I watch, I only see Soon Ae learning/maturing from Seon Woo. She doesn't even confide in Na Bong Song her true feelings for the Cheif! Well, it's not like she can't she just doesn't. The scene where Soon Ae watches Bong Seon and Seon Woo interact with each other in ep 10, it almost felt as Soon Ae was envious.
Anyway, I am simply enjoying this drama. I think Seon Woo truly likes the calm Na Bong Song but at the same time you can not tell me that doesn't feel excited with the pervy Soon Ae.
*Has it just been me that noticed it or whenever the team of guys are working together during scenes, they look like they are about to bust out laughing at any moment? Their interactions together are like 80% physical abuse but they keep looking like they will explode in laughter when they hit or throw something at each other. Especially in ep 9 when Minsoo smacks Seo Jun in the face lol.
The ending was supposed to leave me happy about the happy ending, but I felt like with all the lies, the murdering, the blackmail, the emotional scars of both Seok Hoon and Mi Yeon, made everything bittersweet. I spent the last couple of episodes hoping for Seok Hoon and Mi Yeon's downfall but seeing how everything played out in the end didn't leave me feeling happy for the main leads. There are some holes in this storyline. This drama sure wasn't perfect but I have to say that it was a dramatic ride.
I first watched him in Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu and then when I went to find some jmovies to watch,I noticed he was everywhere. He's pretty decent as an actor. Great article!
Whoa, I really enjoyed episode 1 but really some of those moments had me scratching my head. There were some scenes when the editing seemed choppy and sometimes the music didn't have the right feel for certain scenes. But I really liked this episode. Lee Soo Hyuk is very sexy vampire and Lee Joonki is amazing and so handsome. Can't wait for ep.2
I gave this drama a 7.5 but I really grew to like this drama. It wasn't too serious in the romance department (which I was okay with) but the humor was really funny.
Stand Up really is a good watch! I recommend it also! Hana Kimi will remain as one of mt favorite J-Dramas. Every episode was hilarious. Great article!
I forgot about this drama for awhile after reading news of Song Jiho and Byun Yo Han acting in a drama together and then watched it for the first time last night. Ep 1 was slow as hell but then once the ex-girlfriends were introduced I went nuts. I did not go to sleep until 7 in the morning! I watched all 6 episodes and now I'm going crazy for ep 7 and am dying for Friday/Saturday to get here already. The chemistry between the main leads and even the whole cast is great.
I remember watching Kim Sang Joon in Doctor Stranger. He was only in a couple of episodes and he played his role well. I kind of ditched the drama after his character dies but talk about impact. I love this series and this was a great read!
Someone give me 3 reasons to watch this lol. Is this like City Hunter? Does it become better after ep 1?
Ji Chang Wook was the only pull for me that made me watch the first episode but as it went on, I wasn't sure this was a drama I could easily get hooked to. Thanks for your reasons. This makes me want to pick up ep 2.!
