Hai! I've been interested in watching this for a while, and now that I'm back on my XianXia crave I've come back to considering this drama! A few questions:
1. How's the Angst? When I first gave it a try I dropped it pretty early on because I felt like it became to comedic which usually isn't my cup of tea in these kinds of dramas. Does it get serious/angsty? I usually like xianxias on the emotional side.
2. How's the romance? Is it slow burn? Do they have chemistry?
3. Are there any love triangles/squares or any side characters that like the ML or FL?
4. I'm a sucker for the 'secret power' trope, or some sort of hidden identity or any hidden overall. Does the FL have anything like this? I do see she's pretty weak in the beginning.
5. Is it a Happy Ending? I can't handle sad endings T_T

I just started this drama and I've got to say I really loved the second tribulation (childhood lovers one after the 2 animals), now I'm kind of curious, for those who've watched all of the tribulations/lives, how would you rank your most to least favorite ones? I just got to the sect leader arc

Different universe, it's funny since the guy who played Shang Que in LBFAD plays someone else in this drama haha. You'll recognize some of the cameo sountracks they briefly play in this drama that were originally from LBFAD.

Was the ending for Longest promise worse than Starry Love? I was upset about the OE on starry love but that one game me hope on a open happy ending, is there the same for longest promise?

Would you be able to explain what you mean by an open ending/jopeful? I don't mind spoilers! I've just been reading the comments that heavily hint on a very bad and sad ending :(

Keep pushing through to at least 3 more episodes if you can! You're just about to hit the mortal arc, which is the start of their three lives! (The first 10 episodes of this drama is, in my opinion, the WORST part of this drama, half the stuff happening in the beginning was so unneeded and barely applies any plot development). Starting from episode 21 is where the drama SHINES, and starting from episode 10 is where the solid plotline starts. (The only reason the fox part is included is for one thing and one thing only, which you find out later).

Oh trust me when I say I also could not stand the obsession haha, I'd say skip to episode 21 if you don't care too much about the earlier parts. You're on I assume the 'fox transformation' part, which is probably the worst and most frustrating part of this drama. The human arc, which starts shortly after the fox arc, is somewhat better because this is where you really start to see Fenjiu's growth as a character especially due to what happens at the end of the human arc. Starting from episode 21 (which is after the human arc) she is like a changed person in the sense that she is no longer obsessed with him, and this is due to the events that occurred in the human arc that made her realize her actions have consequences.

I do recommend trying to watch through the mortal arc because it's the events there that really start the trials and tribulations of their '3 lives 3 worlds'. The mortal arc is their first life. I would also 100% say, the first part of the series with her being a fox is so useless and, to this day, I genuinely feel like it was definitely not needed for any plot development whatsoever.

Alright deciding to give this a shot even with all the very mixed/negative reviews about it. I really like the actor and actress in the series so I'm hoping the (supposedly) bad/lacking plot won't stray me away from conitnuing.

If possible, can anyone who is currently enjoying the drama comment what they do like about the show? As bad as it sounds I rely a lot on the general opinions in the comments, and unfortunately people are more likely to post negative rather than positive reviews :(

I started this series a while back and dropped it, forgot why but now I’m going to give it another shot! I’m curious though, is there jealousy from either the ML, FL, or both and how is the chemistry and progression of their relationship? I’m the minority in that I actually enjoy love triangles and watching jealousy because it’s a form of relationship ship growth I guess haha, the typical trope

Does the ML’s little sister ever get better? Does she every apologize for her attitude and actions? She’s annoying the hell out of me so far
