also there're few others detail that got me itch 😂 but I just ignore that and just enjoy this as entertainment..

I enjoy this for the "tourism promotion" and..because I just like watching C drama

Already Finish that.. It's also good.. a lot of good costume drama that I like also.. but TTEOTM still the top one that left lingering feeling..

missing this... haven't found other drama better than to this 🤧🤧🤧 the sadness that still pierce through the heart everytime I re watch even just 1 certain episode, or listening to the soundtrack (which is almost everyday in my spotify list)

Could you give me hint about it? The actor name maybe or plot synopsis.

I've seen 1 but the reborn ML only happend near the end of the story. Main plot (80-90% of the story) still consist of the ML mistreated the FL then FL died (like the usual vertical drama plot). It's actually about a fox spirit who sacrificed her 8 life (8 out of 9 life If I'm not mistaken) to her lover.

I'll read the novel, then I'll come back to comment again if you don't mind.. *laugh*

I'm a fan of CL..already saw him as just a General but not Prince , also as an Emperor who don't know martial art..

so I have high hope to see him as a Royal Prince who is also a Grand General in this drama.. His brief appearance as Duan Aodeng was something captivating for me rather than as that shadow puppet.. sad that it's only in a few episodes. that's my biggest complaint..

I didn't read the novel. But I bet it's a looong story. I guess that because there are many background stories that only told in short conversation later in the drama (like how the relationship between Duan Aoze and the Empress and the Empress' sister , and also how Duan Aoze got caught in the cave, what's his relationship with LiWei...

Another reviewer also said that the author usually wrote a good novel.

Interesting thing for me : This drama has 2 set of royal brothers from 2 countries with very different characters. The 1st ones hate each others, want to kill each others and both aimed for the throne.The 2nd ones really love each others and could die for each others, and they both want to give the throne to the others :D

Yes.. I also a lil bit dissapoint with the ending. For 2 prominent figure of 2 great country with looong achivements, especially with both country had reach peace agreement.. why is not possible for them to reunite as their original identity..

But yes, at least they had happy ending..

Yes Agree.. I also watched this because of Cheng Lei and the second couple (Yes, their story are more interesting than ML and FL).
This is a strange story..actually captivating but, not to my usual taste for ancient chinese drama with a supranatural side (this is my opinion, others my felt different).
I watch till the end with many fast forward on the romantic scene , because I originally wish to see Cheng Lei as Duan Aodeng, so I wait for the revelation part, which is happend late in the drama, and very short too.. sad..

The romantic scenes are also boring (in my opinion). I don't know why. I do like romantic scene of Cheng Lei (in his others drama). But I don't feel his chemistry with Song Yi in this drama. I don't think her act is impressive in this, sorry. (I'm afraid I will get hate because of this)

I write my own review before reading other review so I won't be biased. I was wondering if other has the same thought as mine, then I came across yours. (Because so many give 10/10).

BIG YES to :
- the puppy like devotion (sorry to be blunt, but it was boring for me)
- I waited mostly for ML past revelation, so I too think it's get exciting after episode 30. But it's also dissapointing because I only get to see CL as Duan Aodeng for a very short time
- SY maybe not suitable for the role. I honestly did not feel her chemistry with CL (even with that amount of romantic scene, which is.. a lot, actually).
- Luxin and Mo Yun..love them
- Bi Wenjun suitable for the role (sometimes anti hero, sometimes good guy.. My feelings for him change from pity to hate, then proud)

and I particularly like the one who play the Yao Empress Dowager, she nailed the psycho Empress role perfectly.

I'm also Cheng Lei big fan, but I don't think this is one of his good drama.

still on episode 21..and this is one of my favourite transmigration plot (after SOKP)..
and by the way, the Eunuch An dressed as the Emperor is the most hilarious scene so far 🤣🤣🤣

The ML is 36 in the current timeline. It's said on episode 55. So the 1st time he fall in love with FL is when he's 28 and FL is 16.

It's a little bit off if the FL is underage. Although that could be the reason why the plot make the ML restrain himself from aproaching FL.
Yes in my home country also, age gap that big is okay once both are legal.

YESS..YESS..OMG now that you mention that.. They're really looked EXTREMELY gorgeous and very in sync in their fighting scenes 😍😍 I'd rather think that it's the 'romantic' scene for them 🤣

Yes I agree, the "no interaction for 8 years" doesn't make sense, especially that he's 12 years older, mature and have steady career. Perhaps, He should've done something proper to get close or to directly propose once she's legal (just my thoughts 😆).
For me, the age gap actually acceptable once both man and women reach legal age. What makes it a little disturbing because in this drama, they made the starting point when FL still 16 and ML 28.

I like them too 😆..as both insane couple, perhaps if they get the chance, their story could be different and interesting as 2nd couple

I agree, not much chemistry between them. in my opinion, probably because the nature of their characters are both leaders / generals, both are though warriors so they're supposed not too lovey dovey.. (but that just my speculation 😄)

Wow thank you very much for the information... I click through the link you gave , and definitely wil read.. I love reading books also, but most of the link or app I've got only contains western novel.. I love them also but all these Chinese drama make me want to read the original novels 😂

and btw I also agree with your opinion about the difference style of FL in PoB and this VD..perhaps the director in POB made modification on the character due to censorship (?) so the FL in PoB also have specific characteristic but not too sensual (or -as you said- almost prostituting herself to the enemy) like in the novel.
