But in this case the narrative is Yi Chen made Lu Feng suffer, hence he "had it coming". I even saw people in comments say when Yi Chen was assaulted again that it was hot. I'd need a psychologist to explain this phenomenon to be cause I don't get it. The actors are indeed fantastic, which is why I'm still watching the show but and while I feel sorry for Lu Feng for being in pain, you don't do what he did to someone you love.

Some weirdos are screaming that this is pseudo incest drama because they can't be bothered to understand the ML and FL's moms are not blood relatives, ML's mom was taken in for a few years by FL's family and they call each other sister because that's what you call each other in Asia. The moms weren't even very in touch once they were adults and the kids didn't grow up together or to consider each other cousins, it's just a title thrown around. But the people refuse to get it.
