I am extremely upset and disheartened to read the comments to find out the two main characters have an on-screen…
your discomfort is valid and i felt the same way. teacher or not, it's a working adult and a high school student. even if she's the one who kissed him it's still uncomfortable to see. dont worry about people trying to tell you otherwise.
the show is called hidden agenda but there's a confession in ep 5 girl what are we gonna do for the rest of the show???? nita gaslight arc??????????????????
Ofc hot/pretty privilege exist, but I do not know where did you guys get the info that this is the reason why…
i know this is about actors but i'm so glad you brought up aof. aof's signature style is stunting any potential growth for his actors by type-casting them, or letting his own desires seep through to dominate a work rather than relying on actors and storytelling. he deserves 50000x the criticism he gets, but people lick his ass from back to front instead and call him a bl genius. for what? god only knows. there's no potential for actors to grow under aof's guidance. and that same work ethic reflects across the entertainment industry as a whole.
the only reason why i watch this is because of the girls, especially pat. i mean the rest of the ladies were great…
It's such a shame we haven't seen enough of her yet when she's such an insane talent. Even if I won't be watching, I hope she has significant screen time later in the show. She deserves it and so does the audience.
Like other comments have pointed out, The Jungle is failing to live up to its team and PS I Hate You. Yeah it's only been a few episodes, but I struggled to even get through ep 3 and dropped it there. The premise of a group of asshole playboys is already annoying, but the characters and their actors' miserable attempts at portraying them are so cringey it's insane. Watching actors like Krist or Nanon visibly try to look cool, when you'd expect the archetype to be naturally charismatic, is so hard on the eyes. I especially don't understand Nanon as a casting choice. For the life of me I can't see the world in the same Nanon-colored glasses as other people who think he's killing his role as the twins. He needs to stay in roles where he works best. Nerdy, loser-ish, downtrodden, and/or just-some-dude.
PS I Hate You was good because of the women. Lackluster performances from men (Pleum) didn't detract too much from the show because we didn't see them too often. The same thing made ep 1 of The Jungle bearable. Now I'm being subjected to a troupe of men who can't act. Even Mix, who I started watching for, isn't doing anything to keep me thus far. The show could end up being a masterpiece but making myself stick around to see it is just too difficult.
i mean this was the concept for this show from the beggining , they put it there for a reason, it may not be everyone's…
Saying this publicly is going to get you hit with a lot of "it's necessary for the story" "it's the reality for an LGBTQ story like this" etc. but people who preach nuanced media won't accept a nuanced critique like yours. You're absolutely right. With an industry like BL that emerged from fujoshi culture, expanded to a wider audience that will always find a way to commodify it -- which isn't exclusive to LGBTQ media but any depiction of a minority group -- you have to continue to wonder if sometimes a show like OnlyFriends is either too much or leading the industry down a path that will become too much (in terms of erotic content, because we know BL has always been too much in terms of toxic tropes and fetishization). Even with a gay director. I like Jojo but people seem to think "well the director is gay" makes everything magically fall into place. I'm not just talking about OnlyFriends, but any piece of media. There's nothing wrong with being concerned. I think your concern is very valid.
The mediocrity of the show itself opens the door for people to be extra critical about the acting. They are still…
SIMM bored me to sleep so badly that I can't say I remember anything about the kisses aside from how the first few were non-consensual for no reason. One thing HA has that SIMM doesn't is that it's slightly more watchable at least lol
