I see a lot of people disappointed about the way the show is going and how it seems Mei Lin is not the same assassin…
I have given up understanding why, really. tbh some people just want a drama to fit their expectations and when it doesn't they bail. fair enough. I prefer to take a drama on its own terms and see what they offer. to me I love almost everything about it. I don't care if it strikes my trope fancy - I love that it's such a good production, with good actors (Liu Xueyi is outstanding) and the story pretty tight. is it perfect? of course not, but it's giving me joy.
Except for a slight hiccup around episodes 5-8, I have liked almost every episode of Kill Me Love Me. unlike most Cdramas, the pacing has been stellar, the acting mostly phenomenal (our two leads, and our crown prince basically), the setting gorgeous, and most of all the character development of our leads are absolutely great. Heck, even the fighting scenes are on point. sure, there are some plot inconsistencies here and there, and maybe a few logical loopholes, but it has not gotten in the way of me enjoying the drama so far.
Admittedly I am confused why some people outright hate it or drop it, but I guess we all have different needs 🤭
of course Mei Lin would believe he was totally fake loving her. I suspect he's trying to make her leave the capital for her safety.
but waii 😭
