Thereβs something horribly wrong with this show. The scenes that are supposed to feel touching or comedic feel…
I felt that the male lead's personality after coming back to life changed completed. I feel that he suceeds too easily in everything he does and there doesn't seem to be any angst at all that was present in his previous life. I find his cheerful personality very odd and jarring. a man that has gone through what he did would have had some angst in him or something. other than that I guess I am not taking it too seriously. I just wished it had retained some of the characters initial darkness to make it a more serious show.
Wow, what a masterful yet simple tale of two very different people slowly understanding and coming to love one…
Perfectly said! I love the drama for it's simplicity and slow burn romance and also for making me laugh out loud almost every episode! everyone was so good in this including Dao Ge π
I tried, I really did. But 33 is as far as I can go. once that trope landed I couldn't do it anymore π Dropped and now back to watching The Hope π
I am surprised. I thought it would be savagely panned on Douban
Thanks for explaining. people keep saying that the low no of raters is the reason for its rating and that exasperated me π€£. I have seen it, from the starts getting consistently good reviews at Douban from the start.
Aight, after ep 15 I will probably be in skim mode. do not click if you are allergic to criticisms about the show.…
I like the actor XuKai in general but I don't think he performed very well here. it could be the script it could be the directing or it could be the acting itself. I think it doesn't help that the subplots are so aimless. I think it is also possible because the original novel is a slice of life. if you approach this drama as a slice of life it's probably tolerable. in fact this is the kind of drama that should accompany you when you're watching something super serious and need something fluffy and really really light to watch. I have no beef against any of the actors nor should you take my criticism as a personal attack on your taste if you love it. all power to you. However, I'm giving up now and may just watch this drama while washing the dishes or something. that said, it shows some signs of getting a little more exciting. however to do this after only 15 episodes is really bad writing and plotting.

Not sure whether it is because of the bootlegging but I watch on VIU and everything is amazing. I watched the…
Yup yup agree with you on all counts. I wrote an EP review of the first two episodes and said - it's beauty is making me lose my judgement haha. I am at ep 8 and I STILL don't understand what's the main driver of the plot. And Zhuyu and Wu Zhen - when do we get to see more depth in their characters, the conflict that will eventually come? Perhaps this is due to our focus being divided into so many characters and so many subplots, until they kinda forgot to develop our main characters π π€£ I swear if this drama wasn't so beautiful and the leads so charismatic I would've keeled over in boredome a few episodes ago haha.

glad I am not the only one thinking this. it's extremely pretty but I feel unachored in this world because it's not explained well and nor do we get a good foundation in our characters. but I enjoy it as it's fun
