Chinese rating has dropped, and frankly, even though it's still good, the story hasn't lived up to its premise,…
Buddy, do you even know what you're talking about? The 2nd highest rated C-drama on this site behind Nirvana in Fire is Three Lives Three Worlds (aka Eternal Love) only managed to eek out a meagre 6.something score on Douban.
In contrast T&E started strong at 8.2 on Douban, but dropped to 7.8 by the 2nd/3rd week. Were now into the 7th week, T&E hasn't budge from its very solid 7.8 score (Douban has really harsh ratings, so a 7.8 is very worthy of respect).
Compared to Princess Agents, which only managed a 5.0 on Douban after finished airing...
Laura_Roslin took the words right out of my mouth, that this drama is meant to be SAVORED. Very true. Dive in…
I am shocked by the use of SFX. MYS's faerie tentacles look like fantasy-style Dr. Octopus from Spider-man. Pan Xi just disperses suddenly into glowing droplets (Ep37). Very powerful cinema-like imageries.
Guys, make sure you put on your high quality headphone when watching this. What a difference this made to me. To best describe it, the soundtrack was made with something like virtual surround sound. You can't hear this difference with just your laptop/tablet/smafo speakers.
Anyone watching this with subs from subscene.com? Some episode's subs are out of synch. I've found it's much easier to watch the RAWs to a few episodes ahead. That way, when you get to some unsynched subs, at least you know the context of what's being displayed at the bottom...
Not really. He killed a young man in Ep1 with his axe and made his GF a widow. Karma is just exacting revenge…
The Ten Commandments
1. Thou shall not kill (broken by SFHY et all in Ep. 1)
2. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's property (broken by SFHY's dad in Ep. 1)
If you was God, would you?
A. Punish SFHY et al. for their crimes.
B. Allow SFHY to do whatever since he didn't commit any sins
IMO SFHY's story thread is about teaching stubborn, tribal ppl the difference between right and wrong. I think SFHY will eventually recognize all the bad things him and his ppl have done...
Not really. He killed a young man in Ep1 with his axe and made his GF a widow. Karma is just exacting revenge…
I find SFHY's story quite pitiful. His tribe killed a whole tribe while they were still sleeping. Karma returns with some masked riders to slay them all.
Are we expect Karma to owe SFHY a full tribe? I find that Karma has been all balanced out after his wife (with father Muru surname) died. At this point, Karma will give him a good life if he does good, or kill him off by the end if he continues to seek unjustified revenge.
But, his character never seems to learn that his whole clan was evil. That's why they all got killed off in Ep2. Yet, he continues to believe in revenge...
On a whole, the tribal clans never keep the law, they even killed children. God will first use them to stir up trouble, then punish them in the end.
If there is a worst char of all 3 predestined to be King (worst meaning least ethical, or wrong-headed thinking) that title has to go to SFHY!
Poor He Ye and his 2-episode-long marriage that ended in a really cruel way :(
Not really. He killed a young man in Ep1 with his axe and made his GF a widow. Karma is just exacting revenge making him feel what it's like to lose someone you love.
I'm so confused. Episode 52 said "The End" but everywhere I look it says there are 56 episodes?…
The 56 episode version is the uncut one. After SK compromised China national security by placing American THAAD on their soil, China said no to SK actors/actresses and demanded the series remove the Korean personality from the show so we get the trimmed 52 episodes version, which is the official one anyways...
i have been waiting for the 50th ep with eng subs dsperately for almost a week ...... :( dont know when will i…
Same here... I was stuck at Ep 48 waiting for subs. It seems ENG subs up to ep 51 now on subscene. Still waiting for subs to the final episode (52 episodes version)
I think this is one of the best Chinese dramas out there this year. Finally, they understand that it's about…
No kidding, Eternal Love was overhyped. This drama gave me what EL couldn't: Watching a drama for pure enjoyment unlike EL full of cringe-worthy scenes...
guys I've been trying to watch this since 2015 and I just can't bring myself to finish the first episode…
So many characters looked alike. What made it worse was their names sounded similar (Jingyan, Jingrui). Also, at first I thought the Crown Prince was Prince Yu. Things didn't get sorted out for me until episode 19 when I could distinguish them apart, and liked it afterwards.
I think the show's only weakness is the confusion caused by the first few episodes.
The plot seems interesting in the start and all things shows that this drama will be very good. unfortunatly the…
I've seen a little over half of the show and am still loving it.
BTW, what crap effects were you referring to? They made this show as good as they could (until some other popular show where the TV drama version is essentially a crap teaser leading to the box office movie adaptation) without thoughts of the movie that just got green lit.

MYS - Too spoiled/too civilized
MRHJ - Too aloof
Which quality will make the best King? I think this should go to MRHJ as he seems to be the middle ground.
SFHY: We're going to kill another tribe coz we need to survive and our lives are more important than theirs
God/Buddha/Whatever: Oh, no you don't, I will send some masked riders after you lot to seek justice
SFHY: Nice going, God/Buddha/Whatever, now I'm going to spend the rest of my life b*tching and moaning about what you did!
To those are universal no matter which country:
1. Thou shall not kill
2. Thous shall not covet thy neighbor's property
These are replicated in T&E: If you draw a sword to kill, you will be killed by a sword, etc.

This might explain it:
"While the series was originally supposed to be 55 episodes, the number of episodes was later reduced to 52 episodes." [Source: Wikipedia]
