Of all the characters, YQY lost the most. His whole family - Grandma, father, brother, both sisters, diabolical YBC might have been -, his friend XL, his lover PR and now his emperor too. But he's the most stable of them all, understanding even TTJ's pain at losing YXW because he lost PR too.

TTJ learning that he completely misunderstood YXW is heartbreaking. Him taking responsibility for XL's death, for controlling YXW, and finally understanding as well that she'd hate him for making her kill XL, instead of simply being heartbroken with XL's death...... is kinda satisfying, but he's really pitiful for it.

Oh YBC. So selfish to the end. Even when confronted with how crazy she sounded, she believes she isn't, and that she was oppressed simply because she wasn't a "winner" in the Ye family? Just because Grandma loved YXW so openly, she thought she wasn't loved?

Every reason YBC threw out to justify her actions were so selfish. Why kill YXW? "Because she knows I poisoned the porridge." Why kill Grandma? "Because she loved only XW" and when confronted with the fact that when she made YXW kill TTJ, she also inadvertently caused Xiao Lin's death, she didn't accept it and still blamed YXW and TTJ for it.

She's a pitiful character, driven by insecurities and fears, made selfish by her belief in her oppression. I still hate her.🤣She's still unrepentant about Grandma or YXW. XL, maybe, but I'm not really convinced.

Truly a man who takes his responsibilities seriously... YQY knows anything he says to TTJ now will be fruitless, as he's too deep in his grief to listen to reason, to make him rule again. Tbh, the only reason TTJ became emperor was the wish not to be powerless again, unlike YQY, who had a deep-rooted reason for serving, which is to stop the wars and keep the peace for the common person. (Yes, TTJ learned how to be considerate of the poor, but that was only because of LSS. And with her gone.....)

That's why TTJ could so easily relinquish his power, and why YQY could easily take the mantle of emperor.

Ok, I'm starting 29 now.... =sigh= Two years on, but every rewatch feels the same.

Both girls died for the men they loved, in the same day.😭💔

YQY looking as lifeless as TTJ, without PR... Their confrontation in front of YXW's body is really physical, showing the raw grief the two men have over the same person they both loved.

*still living for GYT's eyerolls, tho.🤣*

TTJ undergoing all the stages of grief in one scene:
Denial - "Ye Xiwu, why are you there?" "I'm talking to you"
Anger - "Didn't you want to kill me? Get up and kill me! Hate me!"
Bargaining - "Just one word, please"
Depression - "Ye Xiwu, you're really hateful."
Acceptance - =hugs her=

That montage of their happiest moments strike hard.... plus that monologue of TTJ's: "In the past, I was like a blind man living in the dark.... I didn't know what exactly true brightness means... until I met you" and ending exactly at that moment he first saw her. 😭💔

....It's obvious at this point I'm watching that part again😅🤣 Such a sucker for tragedies, I am.🤣 Sometimes I found myself replaying those parts in the dramas when the MC dies a heroic death😅 I'm fine, just don't show any cats being hurt 🤣

LSS's unfortunate fate proving too much for the protection of the bracelet, so it broke.😭💔

LSS exchanging the divine essence for TTJ's evil bone is basically her rewriting his fate... like wiping everything clean for him to start over again.😭💔

But that hurts....
LSS: "I shot the spikes into you, but I took on the pain of the curse of the WOJ for you" so we're even💔

The reveal at the top of the tower is TMI for TTJ, and understandably confusing. I don't blame him for thinking negatively again despite LSS saying that future won't be yours anymore.

He basically released LSS from feeling any guilt when she leaves him. There's two ways I see her thinking about his choice: 1) Just like how he believed LSS loved Xiao Lin, LSS also believed he loved YBC. Him choosing her first proves that. 2) Despite the love she knew he had for her, marrying her and wanting to be with her even if in his eyes she tried to kill him, TTJ choosing YBC meant that he could continue living on and loving someone else.

Had TTJ chosen YXW, though, I think LSS would try to save YBC still, and might have pushed TTML over the wall. Problem solved and everybody lives happily ever after🤣 But of course too much had already happened for that to really be an option. 💔
