XL was even kind enough to understand why TTJ had to do what he had to do, and to make plans for the people he'd leave behind, those who are still loyal to Sheng, and those who want to make a new beginning. An especial note was even left for that traitorous and malicious wife of his... As a character XL was too good for that world.

In this part, TTJ feels as selfish as YBC. TTJ set LSS up so that she'd have nowhere to go but to him, while YBC set LSS up so that she loses everybody...... LSS is simply stuck between two hard rocks with nowhere to go.

I don't really know who to blame in this tragic mess. I just feel sad for the collateral damage -- Grandma Ye and Xiao Lin, two kind and noble souls who didn't deserve their fates.😭😭💔

The joy of reunion between Xiao Lin and his Martial Uncle cut short by TTJ's puppetry spell.😭😭Xiao Lin deserved a better fate💔but he knew it was inevitable. Through the battlefield or by deception, he would have eventually met his end. (Why does he have to be such a noble one?)

Even XL was suspicious at how smooth the jailbreak was. Didn't the guards even doubt LSS? Maybe because of the tiger token, yes, but........
I'm still irritated by this plotline altogether.

TTJ controls LSS through the Ruo River, and lets her escape with Xiao Lin, but not before asking her a few questions.

"Did you poison my food?" "Yes"
"Did you do everything for Xiao Lin's sake?" "Yes"
"Did you love him? Are you willing to do this for him? Are you willing to kill me for his sake?" "Question overload. Please try again."🤣😭

Was every romantic moment they had not enough proof that she loved TTJ? In the back of his mind, was his jealousy of XL much greater than his love for LSS? =sigh=

TTJ learns about LSS poisoning the porridge, and tries to make her tell him the truth by herself. LSS thinks she just put the sleeping powder so she wasn't really afraid that anything else will happen to him if she feeds him.

=sigh= yep. what an unfortunate mix up this is.😥

LSS visits XL in prison. Of course LSS, embodying totally the Ye values, tries to convince XL to escape, but XL, being the noble ruler he is, understands what his life or death means to the peace and prosperity of all people, Jing or Sheng. He truly is the ruler who should have been, if only TTJ could be persuaded to a truce between the two kingdoms...

He's the first one too to recognize that YXW isn't YXW, and had some idea about her mission. Very perceptive of him so why------😭

Other thoughts aside, they both are thinking deeply about things that affected them that night. LSS of course being concerned about YBC and why she turned out that way, and TTJ wondering if the reason he was heartless and emotionless was because of his lack of love threads.

I'd rather think TTJ was heartless and emotionless then was not necessarily because of his lack of love threads, but rather nobody showed him how to have a heart and emotions until LSS. He had begun to care for Yingxin and Lan'an because they cared for him at the very least. But because he had been abused by his brothers, eventually abandoned and betrayed by his carers, and treated cruelly by the people around him, all those tender emotions went unused and unpracticed until LSS came and showed him kindness and love.

PR and YQY scenes in the rooftop are such romantic scenes no matter what it was.

The Jing Arc might not be a favorite among all the arcs, but it sure delivered a lot of quotable quotes and highlights😁

Hateful as YBC is going to be later, she really is a pitiful person, brought down too much by her insecurities in life--insecure in status, insecure in the love and admiration of the people around her, especially her loved one.

TTJ learning from PR and YBC what love threads are... Jiang Rao's storyline was totally taken from what Di Mian was supposed to be with Chu Huang--instead of the sperm donor that was served to us here😅
