and unhinged TTJ is so fascinating and satisfying to watch. "Am I going to die first of the poison, or of blood loss?" Add drowning to that too as he joins LSS overboard๐คฃ

LSS finds Sang Jiu's statue and the World-Overturning Jade as she sinks into the Mohe River. A little bit more and she would have found Ming Ye slumbering below.

But really, Lan'an is such a disappointment. TTJ really pinned a lot of hopes on her, that she could be the mother he had never known, but her betrayal is such a painful thing to watch.

This episode's highlights:
1) LSS handchopping NBY unconscious. Dude should have known better๐ ๐คฃ 2) TTJ giving a beautiful but deadly hairpin to Lan'an. Vengeance is sweet when served cold, and in advance. Dude really knows how to think in advance. 3) The first appearance of Tantai Minglang's scarred face, and his faithful righthand woman. Oh my Xiao Shunyao.๐ ๐ 4) The dance sequence. LSS's dance is awkward, but whatever rocks TTJ's boat --literally as well as figuratively๐คฃ 5) PYZ's strange predictions... "Water will bring them luck" --foreshadowing the next arc? 6) Jing Emperor secretly wishing TTJ back, just to see his eyes--his mother's eyes (smells like Harry Potter?๐คฃ), making TTML jealously murderous. RIP Jing Emperor. 7) The whole ferry sequence. Blue eyes suits LYX's face. Lan'an's motivations for betraying him are useless and yes, as @Aya said, hypocritical. TTML's grievances against TTJ and his mother: pitiful but unwarranted against TTJ.
Hey hey Moonies! Time for our 2nd anniversary rewatch!๐ Tune in to Episode 7 and let's escape the Sheng Kingdom…
The entire sequence when TTJ details how he had actually plotted to get out of the Sheng palace through YXW shows how cunning and brilliant his schemes are all the while pretending to be the weak and helpless Hostage Prince.

After the good feelings of the snowball fight, of course LSS would feel betrayed that TTJ had learned demonic arts behind her back. TTJ feeling angry that LSS would dare hurt him is valid as well, and regretting immediately that he hurt her back... the entire exchange is fascinating to watch.

YQY remembering PR as the woman who saved his life in the battlefield... PR must still be fresh from her lover's "abandonment" as she sees YQY's similarity with him.

Love these moments with LSS and her grandma, and LSS talking to the spirits of her fallen sectmates that she is loved and safe just like she was in the sect.
Lan'an. She really had my sympathy and my hope then. =sigh=
This scene with LSS and TTJ talking about the realities of life as represented by the woman selling fireworks is so poignant. LSS talks with the empathy of a kind soul, while TTJ states the cold harsh truth of reality. They truly balance each other out, and yes, help each other become more than being benevolent goddess and cruel devil god.
If there's one moment that I can pinpoint when TTJ fell in love with LSS, it's this.โค๏ธThe way his face and words soften when LSS looks disheartened about the reality of what he said is heartwarming.

Two different goodbyes. LSS promising to be by his side, while TTJ thinks about leaving...
Ahhhh... such missed opportunities!๐ฅบWould General Ye have loved PR had they met?๐๐ข
