Lola, you're hereeeeee!
I'll keep that in mind :D I too appreciate good shows, even if I watch it or not. So I get where you're coming from. Ie. I've never watched Games of Throne even though it's my mom's fav; but we do share a love for Lord of the Rings tho haha

Btw, are there fun moments in Against the Current? Personally, I like stories that focus on something else first, then romance. And I'm a huge fan of comedy. Just a dash here and there is enough to charm me, given a good plot line.

I really love how morally grey A Chou is. There are no clear lines between right and wrong for her, her survival…
I like this too and appreciate how self-aware she is.

I am confused. Is she back in ep 8 or is it still the villainess ??.
Have you finished episode 8? She's back. They explained immediately her getting rescued by Bi Tao and Qi Zhong Kai. Our girl is back, no worries :D

Okay, how is it going, guys? I am thinking of starting.
Dramatic, intense, creative and funny as heck. Start as soon as you can :D

is there a possibility A Chou is the real wei rao when it is revealed later on?
From what I've read, A Chou is the real Wei Rao. They were switched at birth.
I'm just a bit unconvinced by how identical they look. But by the power vested in plot device...

I don't trust Qi Zhong Kai 🤨 And not just because of the last 2 episodes. The moment I saw him at the jewelry…
He's cool thus far (episode 8). I hope he stays this cool and level-headed haha.

I'm not sure if it's appropriate, but these past few episodes have been hilarious! The cast is wonderful, especially the lovestruck-but-in-denial ML. Even 2ML is funny too. TXW is great in this dual roles, no notes!

Lola, you're hereeeeee!
I'm glad to hear you enjoy it so much :D It must surely be a good drama.

I mean, from your description, it is melodramatic hahaha. I also saw posts online about the acting of the whole cast during the airing. At the same time, it is how you see it :D

I get where you're coming from too. There are dramas that I'd watch again because I like them very much and want to get more out of. Wonderful!

Lola, you're hereeeeee!
I heard all the good and tear-jerking things about "Against the Current. I'm a little afraid it might be too melodramatic for me?

I am watching Where the Mask Ends too. It's thrilling hahaha. I wonder if it'll gain much traction online and in China.

I'm also impressed with the costumes, especially the head pieces and decorations of Empresses in the Palace. I like the pace and how I need to take time to watch it. Cannot binge it in any way. But I'm more pre-occupied with WTME right now. It's so... current, contemporary I guess haha.

I am! Finally hahaha. I'm surprised at how good it is! Even though I have heard of its reputation for a long time.

Did it tick your costume glamour box? I actually thought of you while watching it, thought you might actually like it.

Wish the emperor was as handsome as the one in story of yanxi palace
I think he looks appropriate and historically more accurate. Actors who can deliver without having more conventional good looks are a blessing :D

This is one of the OG palace dramas that I couldn't avoid knowing, no matter what. (Especially when it's my friend's fav. He keeps nagging me to try it, even before I got into C-dramas LOL.) To my genuine and most pleasant surprise: It's. So. Good!

I'm very early on. But it has good pacing, as in it takes time for its storyline and characters. It also makes me think quite a lot socially too. I hope I can gradually finish all 76 episodes of it hahahaha.

Person Wei Zi Xin
I also thought he and Louis Fan are similar watching "Princess Royal". I'm glad I'm not the only one haha.…
I definitely hope to catch either or both of them in my future watch (preferably comedy haha).

no way I confuse him with Louis Fan and I saw him in The road to splendor and I think why Louis Fan here so thin…
I also thought he and Louis Fan are similar watching "Princess Royal". I'm glad I'm not the only one haha. I am such a fan of Louis Fan in "How Dare You". Wei Zi Xin is great too, funny, acting on point.

How’s the drama so far? Is it good? The trailer looked really interesting.
It's pretty good imo. It's only 20-minute long. Give it (or the first 2-3 episodes) a try, less than 1 hour of your time :D

Just finished 3 episodes. This is fun and intriguing enough. I'm surprised at how decent the acting is.
The interior design of the house is quite a feast, especially the stairways and bookshelf!

Only two inconsequential bugs for me are: I'm not sure if this is Chinese or Korean aesthetic, or both; And the styling is a bit dated? Chloe styling is great. But Alen needs better styling here.

Hope it keeps up. 20-minute 20 episodes will pass like a breeze.

You should, if you want to see him in a completely different role. Even his role in "Reset" is different…
Hope you enjoy them. (Even if you don't, share what you don't like haha.)

I second @aberration
"Reset" was truly what pulled me back into Chinese dramas. Then, I was on-and-off, until I found out about "Mobius". I hope BJT continues to do these sci-fi projects. Both have a bit of romance in it, so no worries.
Romance-wise, I heard that "Destined" is really good. It was the top 5 or 10 most watched series in China that year too. Or if you like modern setting, "You Are My Hero". I think you'll find these two and TFF very different from each other. But that's the fun of it. You don't see BJT, you see his portrayals in different stories.
