Losing your memory is like losing who you are.... your identity. Experiences and knowledge contained in your memories are what shaped you as a person. So I totally understand Hae In at this. As someone who was so busy with work and didn't really indulge in the joys life can bring, ofc, she would cherish those memories she's made more than ever after she learned that there's a possibility for her to live, a second chance in life. And to know that she'll lose it is almost equivalent to death.
On the other hand, Hyun Woo's willing to sacrifice those memories, as long as Hae In keeps living coz losing her is never an option for him. To be the only person who'll remember everything about them will be so painful for him, but not as much as seeing the love of his life die before his eyes.
See the dilemma? Both aren't wrong in their own. Man, I just wanna see the light at the end of the tunnel ~
