I don't like the side cases of this drama, too fast paced and seems like rushing to solve, i prefer the main story
The cases are related to the main story.
By going through them, they will pick up each puzzle that will complete the whole story.

Ep. 18 was their final closure.
There's a scene I think that will be in Ep. 19 where they were talking normally and smiling at each other before QWM leave and you can see LLH is smiling.
So they're more likely just friends right now. Plus, QWM is already spoken for.
