Xiao Shan is an interesting character because he wasn't your typical male lead hero, if only the writer handled him well.

Yeah, Allen Ren should stick with non-romance then. I mean, kiss scenes aren't really necessary in every romance but people would expect it most of the time.

I did know about how different it is from the novel, but I didn't know XS died also in the novel. And that's the only thing they followed.. lol. Yeah, I know they cut a lot of scenes coz this was supposed to be 48 eps, they say. The editing sucks, to be honest, because the important ones and scenes we wanna actually see were the ones that were cut/deleted. I hope they release the uncut version.

I never have any friends with the same interest as mine, so I usually rely on comments. That way, I feel like I'm talking to a virtual friend ~ For some reason, I usually comment on dramas that are underrated because somehow there's less people and less toxic ones... LOL...

Also, Xiao Shan should have at least left Jia Ning a child too though... haha.. to remember him. But no, they gave us a child with Xiang Lan instead ╮(￣▽￣)╭ That part was a bit unnecessary, to be honest.

I would have loved to see some action scenes as well if I knew they were going this route. They never even showed Xiao Shan shooting a gun that was in the stills *sigh*

Well, when I first started this, I never knew that there would be a tragic tag. It's like the writer just decided in the latter eps to turn it into a melodrama with all the twists and turns. .. haha. This could have been easily a great drama if the storytelling was handled way better. The plot is already unique and untypical Cdrama story, reason why I waited for this since its trailer came out. Xiao Shan and Jia Ning's characters were already very appealing, I just wish their story were written well.

We never get to see Xiao Shan's past (coz it was cut), which I think could have been more interesting. I would have wanted them to actually show him doing more shady stuff before and even after meeting Jia Ning. And if they decided not to give us a happy ending, they should have given us more romantic moments between them...lol (I know most of them were cut, so ~). I feel like Jiaxin and Qin Bin's love story were way more better and consistent than them, not to mention the fact they had more screentime together than the main CP.

And I read a comment saying she kinda wants Qia Ning to be just this independent and strong woman who doesn't need a man. Well, there you go, my friend. I feel like since Xiao Shan's gone, I don't really see herself loving another man again. And so she'd be just an independent woman.

If anyone deserves to die in this, that would just be Uncle Zha. That old man is just pure evil, aigoo. Xiao Shan deserves his second chance in life. I'm just gonna pray with you, Xiao Shan, that in the next life, you and Jia Ning will be together again. And I mean, another drama... haha.. coz, you know, third time's a charm ~ and this time it would be lighter and romcom.

Oh, well, look at that, I'm feeling proud of myself coz I actually finished a Cdrama while it's airing... HAHA. LYX and SQ's chemistry is what kept me going with this one. So I need to see them together again in a romcom one ( ꈍᴗꈍ).

Looks like One and Only is airing after this one, with Bai Lu and Allen Ren. I might camp in there after this, so see you guys there ! Now, I think I need to rewatch the BTS of this drama coz at least there, Xiao Shan and Jia Ning are so funny together (≧∀≦)

P.S. One thing I really like about this drama is its OSTs, they were all very nice ~~ If I hear it in my playlist, I'm gonna be reminded of this drama once in a while.

Haha.. I'm still at ep 38, catching up with the episodes so I can watch the finale when it's up on YT later. But from what I've gathered, it seems it's a sad ending.

It airs in China at 7:30. You can watch the eng subbed version on YT at 12 midnight CST.

The question now will be, how are they gonna tie up all the loose ends in just one ep?
