Communication.

They never talk about it together. They grieved separately and then gradually became distant and cold. Even Hae In admitted to him when she woke up in the hospital after fainting that deep inside, she knows Hyun Woo must have wanted to divorce her. She knows how he left him alone dealing with her mess of a family. She prolly just didn't wanna acknowledge it and thus didn't do anything about it.

Small issues can become big ones if left unsolved.
