I ll wait and see, maybe the ex dint want contact with him or have a new family and dint want him in their lives.…
I actually got chills when he said the line about having a son at the end of that episode. It felt like a horror movie because that's an insane lie to tell, even by omission, but I understood why she forgave him. She wouldn't have given him a chance at all if she'd known he had a son straight out of the gate, and it was only because she gave him a chance that she was able to realize she could like him so much. I think that's why she forgave the lie. But him being a deadbeat on top of all that will be the last straw for me. I'll watch the next episode to see if he has a very good reason for abandoning his son and if he doesn't, I'm definitely out.
Well I was enjoying this a lot up until episode 4 when I learned the ML hadn't seen or spoken to his son in 14 years?! Like... in 14 years you have not picked up a phone, gotten on a plane, or even sent so much as a DM to your literal SON? Wtf? Last time I checked, Germany has telephones, and airports, and the internet so there is zero excuse for this. Not that interested in any of the other storylines so I'm pretty sure I'm done with this drama, deadbeat dads are just not my cuppa tea.
Takes a lot of hard work to make a pseudo-incest plot boring but somehow they succeeded. Nothing about this was interesting, even when both "siblings" were making eyes at their sister at any given opportunity I couldn't even muster up any repulsion, I was simply just bored to death.
Super frustrating because plot has so much potential but I've only made made it to the end of episode 2 and already find the clown painfully boring to watch. Yes the king was a monster but his flaws are what made him interesting. The clown is almost too perfect and perfect people are boringgg! His annoying perfection has also done a stand-up job of ensuring he has exactly ZERO chemistry with the queen. Might have to drop this one.
give me an example of a show that was well written with a lower score
There are hundreds of well-written titles on this site with scores in the 7s. I've been convinced for a while now that any show or movies with a score below 8 is almost guaranteed to be good. King the Land has an 8.3 on this site for example and that show is complete joke. A high score on this site means absolutely nothing.
I cried watching this because the woman the king fell in love with is actually gone! The scene where he was looking at his Dictionary of the Queen’s Language knowing something was off. 💔 I can totally see your BL angle.
Started off so strong but I honestly have no desire to even finish the last 2 episodes. I think it was the horrible love scene that finally did me in lol. I knew the moment I watched the first 2 episodes that it would be hard to top and I was right. Once the leads have already kissed so passionately it takes a really talented writer to keep the conflict strong enough to maintain that excitement until the end. Oh well at least I discovered the wonderful Ahn Eun Jin (My Dearest is a must watch) and found a new appreciation for Jang Ki Young as well so it's not a total loss.
I usually struggle to finish dramas that are 20+ episodes because there's always a lot of filler which makes me lose interest, but the way I have devoured this drama is insane. I pressed play on episode 1 and looked up the next day and was already at episode 18 still riveted. This drama is so laugh-out-loud funny but also has so much depth at the same time. I'm so mad at myself for waiting this long to watch it, IT'S SO GOOD.
Update: Finished it in 2 days and this drama really touched my heart, I cried a lot. On the surface it's a cute comedy, but when you really delve deep, it's actually a tragedy. It's easily one of my top 10 favorite dramas of all time. Wish I could give it a 15/10.
It's crazy how no one is talking about this show. I really enjoyed every single storyline and it has the hottest kiss scenes I've ever seen in a kdrama, hands down. The writer also knows when enough is enough and doesn't drag the story out for 16 episodes when 10 will do, so it was faced-paced. My only small gripe is that I feel like the crown prince and princess's story was much more interesting than the main one, and I wish more attention had been paid to that. Otherwise, I loved it.
Right I was excited for it and it was really bad. Especially the cut where it looked like her arm was being bent…
There are more kisses after episode 2 and a lot of skinship. And most of their kisses/chemistry after the ML learns the truth are super hot. But the actual love scene was lukewarm. From the first two episodes I was sure it was going to beat out What's Wrong with Secretary Kim for hottest love scene but it just... wasn't good. At all. It's like it was shot by an entirely different production crew lol.
And what was that bed scene? lol Why did they make it more natural and hotter in ep2 than 10 episodes laterðŸ˜
Right I was excited for it and it was really bad. Especially the cut where it looked like her arm was being bent out of place. After all that angst it should've been explosive but it was dry dry dy! I thought I escaped awkward love scenes with this show because the first two episodes were fire, it feels like false advertisement lmao
The insta-love didn't land for me. The ML and FL's first few interactions didn't give what it needed to give to convince me that he fell in love with her so quickly, and definitely not strongly enough to justify searching for her obsessively for several years. So since this plot point didn't land for me, the rest of their story won't work either. I'll put this on hold for now to see if something else about this story ever makes me feel compelled to come back and complete it.
Da Rim carrying Ji Hyeok out of the fire reminded me of a scene in the show Lost where Kate picks Jack's big ass up and carries him to safety on her shoulders. The actress was literally half his size, I have no idea how she lifted him, but I always thought it was one of the most romantic things I've ever seen. So we have a ML in distress this time and the FL saved the day, so some of yall can calm down. 😂

Also Ji Hyeok: My mother isn't a sensitive person, she'll be much more comfortable staying with a friend.
Ji Hyeok please STAND UP. 🤣🤣🤣
