E3. "From time to time, I suddenly realise that the people I see everyday face a life like that of a candle in the wind. What does one hope for at the end in the presence of a fleeting life?"
"Why does everyone think about wanting to die?" "Isn't it because they imagine it? They imagine a different kind of self or a world without suffering. If there's something like that for them, they want to go there. Even though no such world exists." "So its tough no matter what they choose." "So I guess I have no choice but to ease their pain."
"I am glad you stopped the car. You did an amazing job" "Because I'm not going to let anyone die anymore."
"Santa Claus is real"
"I think the last thing people want is hope."

E2. "Since you're related to them, its kind of like a swamp you can't escape from, and you may end up being hurt more." "Swamp?" "Also known as love" "Whether it be a close or a shallow relationship, it still hurts."
"I guess we all need that someone, huh"
"People live for love.. or so it seems. But that love is both beautiful and cruel and at the end, we have no choice but to live with both."
Episode 2 killed me. This is shaping up to be such a powerful and hard-hitting mini-drama. As someone who cared for my grandparents all my life till their death, I related to Kyoko so strongly. Those intense feelings of love, and hatred.. sigh.
A bittersweet humane story of two lonely souls, one who is blind and the other who sneaks into her house while on the run, finding solace, closure and support with each other's presence. A simple film full of loud silences, and a lot of heart. Give it a try :)
The worst thing about this is that it ends :( It's a pity this didn't return with a 2nd season because there was scope for so much more and it definitely looked like they were hinting at more.. we were finally getting to the romance GAHHHHH. They could have gone on for a good 15-20 more episodes and I would enjoy it.
This is one of those rare dramas that didn't have a single dull moment. It was light, feel-good and heartwarming all the way, with flawed characters you can't help but root for. Watching the central characters grow into their own people, learn to let go and accept each other was such a fulfilling experience. Taiwan seriously makes the best manga adaptations. Highly highly recommended for all :)

Hero (2001) is another legal drama with a great bickering duo.
Seriously adore the humour!
Give it a try :)

P.S If you enjoyed this, check out Glass Mask (1997). Similar premise, without the wackiness.

Hope it will actually live up to the hype.
