FYI once you rate a drama on MDL, you can only change your rating. You can't remove the rating.
I have not watched it and I don't know where you got the idea that I watched it.

I thought I have watched this edition, looks like either I haven't or I forgot to mark it as complete. I re watched…
The song Bua sang on the beach is a very popular Malay pop song called 'Hitam Manis'. There are tons of artists who have sung their own versions of it.
If I am not wrong, this is the original:

I have to say I prefer the folk version that Bua sang in the drama.

There was nothing strikingly unplesant about this lakorn.. There was barely any scheming villains, or extreme bullying / violence or anything loud that you would expect. And yet, this had little substance.
All the characters were very one-dimensional, and there was very little that really happened in this. The leads were complex but nothing was fleshed about them or what they went through being part of the restrictive household.. I finished this lakorn not knowing anything about their likes / dislikes other than the general characteristics which I learnt about them in Episodes 1-2 (which by the way were the strongest episodes).
Andrew / Bua had such beautiful chemistry.. too bad the show never quite utilized it.

Thank you so much for your comment!
My reason for using those words is that I do not wish to go into the specifics of the crime(s), because that would mean doing a proper write-up and summary using the right words which would be very time consuming and take a lot of effort. I believe some of them have been involved in fraud and scams which are not my concern, thus, the "what not".
Also I do not wish to go into detail reading about the horrors of the crime(s) these people did. I made this list one fine day when I was just feeling annoyed by all these celebrity behaviours, and just do some basic fact-checking before I add anyone. I try my best to update it as regularly whenever anything comes up and that itself is very toiling and tiring for me mentally as I have been a victim before. I did not expect it to become popular or for so many people to reach out, comment or even see this as a go-to list.
Your comment is honestly very valid, and maybe one day when I really get the time and motivation, I will sit down to do a proper write up but at the moment, I am not in the mental space to do so. I hope you understand :)
And thank you, I have added the people you mentioned.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I even search it up for Darren wang he just allegedly used forged medical documents…
I have clearly listed the crimes and the sources. Perhaps, you may wish to read up more / google if you're interested.

They seized Darren's phone when he tried to get out of military service, and that's when the authorities found evidence of him instructing a gang to take revenge on a driver he had an argument with by beating him up. The initial charge was attempt to murder, which was finally dropped to assault. He was, thus, taken in custody. Currently he's out on bail and serving military service during which he'll be going for court hearings on this matter.

Ji Soo admitted clearly admitted to the bullying, thus he has been cancelled in South Korea. He's now trying to establish a career in the Philippines.

He's in custody for assault. He got his friends to beat up a driver.https://www.straitstimes.com/life/entertainment/taiwanese-actor-darren-wang-investigated-for-assault-after-conscription-evasion-scandal
I can't say for sure but I think so.. they found clear evidence of his involvement with the gang to beat up the driver on his phone when they seized it because he tried to avoid military service.

Was digging for info about who the scriptwriter of this was, and found an insightful interview of the scriptwriter and psychologist (who they consulted for the show) talking about the process of making Matalada and the sensitivity that went into making the script and dialogues...this was clearly made with so much care.

Title I Am Married... But! Spoiler
I enjoyed this drama in parts (it had its hilarious moments), but I did not like it as a whole. Prima facie, the…
The whole drama felt like the leads were going very different paths and then the last episode, the writer decided to throw in a curveball and have them meet at the same road and call that the ultimate soulmate connection. And her justification is that because they end up on the same road, that means they are meant for each other.
Completely ignoring the journey which was setting them up for different paths..

After being hell bent on not wanting kids.. she suddenly wanted a kid because the uterus talked to her?! Convenient way to flesh out the fact that he is infertile. Also what was the point of him being infertile.. it didn't lead up to anything.

She danced in joy in the 2nd last episode when she realised the pharmacist was a player -so she was happy that she didn't cheat because he was a womanizer not because she was married and still loved her husband. Did we really need to know he was a player?!
So if he was a sincere guy who really loved her and pursued her, she would have given in?!

She scremed at the ML in the last episode for going to another woman's house, but girl you even dreamed of kissing another man..

I don't understand why we had to spend so much time on the leads with other prospective partners.

The flashback they had at the end of why she chose to marry him pretty much made the distinction more apparent for me.
It wasn't perfect.. she forgot about him but he showed her consideration and they smiled - they were not trying to "work through" anything.. it was effortless. But by the end, their happiness was tied to the accomplishment of having "worked through" shit / overcoming hurdles that they had to, rather than because they were able to enjoy the simplicity of just being together.

Where was cultivating the relationship?! The leads never gave each other a warm hug or talked about their day at work or anything for that matter.. even the act of sex was tied to her wanting him to do something (like the house matter) or them wanting a baby. Until the end, she never told him that she could not sleep when he snored or that he wanted more empathy and understanding from her.

I wanted to love this but it was so superficial. The writer tried to make it look very deep in the last episode but failed IMO. They never grew at all.

I enjoyed this drama in parts (it had its hilarious moments), but I did not like it as a whole.
Prima facie, the message about holding on to each other through the good and bad is not wrong because relationships aren't always a bed of roses.
Having said that, a relationship should not feel like a chore that you feel compelled to finish. The leads definitely cared for each other (and maybe there was love too) but by the end of it, I just felt that they remained together to uphold the sanctity of marriage and stay in the comfort zone (which is bogus) rather than because they were interested in each other and needed each other. It felt like a balanced essay on marriage where the writer listed out the pros and cons, and then decided that since it has both, one can just stay neutral and sit on the fence. That would at least give the essay a passing mark.
Also, where was the character development? He never grew to become an adult who made his own decisions (rather than have his mum/wife dictate), and she never grew to show him more empathy and understanding.
Dramas on the theme of marriage need to understand this - just because the leads had temptation around them and they did not tip the line by cheating, it does not mean that all is sweet and nice. The mark of a good marriage isn't that you managed to avoid temptation, rather it is about cultivating that committment and value to work through life together.

Title Boss & Me
This should have been titled 'All the Psychos around Boss and Me' instead.
Holistically, this was not it. There were too many villains and psychos trying to either harm or separate the leads all the way till the end, unlike the easygoing original with sweet characters. The ML is probably the only character I unbashedly loved. The FL went from lovable to annoying in the last stretch.

All that negativity aside, I actually enjoyed the leads' romance and scenes in this much much more than the original C-version. I wonder if the comparison is even valid though because the essence of the leads' relationship in both dramas was pretty different, other than the initial premise and some key events.
I disliked how the FL in the original had zero confidence and never communicated. The FL had more spunk and personality here. She was so much more outspoken after Episode 8/9. The ML's psyche and coldness was fleshed out better and he was so much more expressive when they began dating (as opposed to the original). I love how he always encouraged her and made her feel that she was great the way she is (something the original didn't have). They also had tons of romantic scenes (rare for a lakorn), and I could really feel the emotional connection and love between them.. they did so much more than just eating and had coupley scenes sprinked throughout their relationship like the FL tickling the ML, them dancing together, her expressing her jealousy, both of them communicating about little things, cheering and validating each other etc. Push / Aom surprised me with their effortless and cute chemistry.

I don't think I'd recommend this unless you just want to watch the couple's scenes and not bother about the rest.
