I loved rika at the first sight and in the last ep when i saw that she didn't end up with kanji.I just cried all…
Spoiler tag please. As much as I hated that Rika was the only one who was left all alone in the end, I appreciate that she didn't end up with Kanji. The guy never loved her & constantly played with her feelings. She gave him all the freedom & did her best for him, but he betrayed her & at the same time tried to control her. He never deserved her.
I've watched the 1991 version of this drama and I can confidently say this was never meant to be a romcom. Also,…
Also Murakami Nijiro is a really good actor. These are some of his must watch dramas (even though he's just in support roles) MIU404 In This Corner of the World Cold Case
I'm also looking forward to Iki wo Hisomete which is gonna air in April this year :)

If you want to watch a good drama with COVID as a backdrop, check out Remolove. It explored intimacy & relationships in the time of COVID really well.
Oh yes, I enjoyed Alice in Borderland. If you like that genre, I can recommend more from that genre that will blow your mind :)
My fav J dramas this season were - 1. Nijiro Karute 2. Uchi No Musume Wa Kareshi Ga Dekinai 3. Tengoku to Jigoku : 2 Psychos 4. Ore No Ie No Hanashi 5. Shitteru Waifu 6. 35sai No Shoujo 7. Neechan No Koibito 8. Horimiya 9. Koko ni Ima Kara Rinri 10. Ojisama to Neko

The community is so small that everyone keeps bumping into each other on the various drama pages & that's where we discuss lol. I am not aware of any group chat. You'll see me everywhere HAHA, esp on the J dramas that aired this season because they were all fantastic.
YESSSSSS! They all look so good. Line up for J dramas in April looks promising. So many of my fav actors are coming…
Not just this spring. The winter J dramas that ended recently were huge as well (in terms of casting + writers) It's only beginning of the year & I must have watched like over 20 J dramas from this very year :0
I said more than a month ago that I didn't expect a good story:)Based on another drama I watched from the screen-writer,…
While I agree that this drama has been disappointing, this screenwriter has actually written some really good dramas - Osozaki no Himawari Boku no Ita Jikan Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru Shitteru Waifu
Personally, I would not recommend Toshi No Sakon to anyone because the relationship between the leads was creepy. The show could have discussed all sorts of issues married couples with a huge age gap face, but chose to have exes / 3rd parties constantly interfering in the leads relationship. I dropped it at E4.
Must watch recent Japanese dramas I would recommend, apart from the other two given by the author - Nijiro Karute Remolove Uchi No Musume Wa Kareshi Ga Dekinai Tengoku to Jigoku : 2 Psychos Ore No Ie No Hanashi Shitteru Waifu
E10. WOW I don't even know what to say. Tomo could not have had a better tribute written for him. You can see how much he is loved and just how much he will be missed. This was one of the most PERFECT finales ever! Thank you writer san and the entire team for this labour of love. Great mix of humour & heart, this was a beautiful drama through & through. Highly recommended!
This wasn't as romantic as the original. Nonetheless, this was a GOOD adaptation that maintained the essence of the original, while making it its own. I liked it. The one thing I must say this did better was keeping the emotions real without being melodramatic (which isn't a surprise given that this is from Japan) In this regard, this adaptation suits the sentiments of the modern day audience a lot more though the original will always be a classic with high nostalgic value.
Is this one have the same style as early 2000's Kudo Kankuro? (Kisarazu/IWGP)
Similar and different both. Its not as wacky or cheesy as Kisarazu & neither is it as funny as IGWP. I would say this is more heartwarming & emotional since it centers around a family though there are a lot of hilarious moments each episode.
Also this drama is one big tribute to Tomoya since this is his last so you'll see a lot of references to his iconic dramas & roles. In my opinion, this is a must watch if you're a fan of Tomoya & the screenwriter :)
