Some issues that deserved to be explored more & bothered me -(1) Da Qi's medical condition & what was the progress…
Hmm I don't think the show needed to be any longer to be honest. The screen space given to Yu Xin's boss could have been shorter (he overacted, and the writing for his character was just bad) & be replaced with better exploration of Da Qi's character & the leads' relationship. I think the set up in the beginning episodes was poor & that could have been done better.
Yeah don't even get me started on Jing Tao and Wan Ting's mother. The show was clearly trying to tie everything up with a neat bow in the last episode which I am not a fan of.
Still, I would say this is far better than a lot of dramas that exaggerate & dramatize the legal profession. If you want to watch workplace dramas, then you got to watch Japanese shows. They are best at portraying things for what they are. I would not have watched this if not for George Hu.
suzuka oji looks like koji setosayu kubota looks like haruna kawaguchi
OMG yes both ladies look alike. I just watched Haruna in Until I Meet September's Love & she looks eerily similar to Sayu in this drama. Their hairstyles are also similar.
I google translated your comment and it says 'After all Haruka is cute' Is that what you wanted to convey? HAHA I'm just testing the accuracy of Google translate.
This is set in a dystopian world. They are clones, & the concept of rights doesn't apply because they were born…
I see. I get what you mean. I don't think the book offers much explanation on that point either (if I remember correctly). In fact, the drama did a way better job at explaining some things as compared to the book. The book just takes on that premise, & the reader has to assume that without questioning it. At least that's what I remember. I read the book way too many years ago. All I know is that I enjoyed the drama more than the book (which is very rare)
DECENT one-time watch, with pleasant characters, & legal cases that were not too complex, but were well intertwined…
Some issues that deserved to be explored more & bothered me -
(1) Da Qi's medical condition & what was the progress with L365.
(2) While what Jing Tao did was morally right, he breached and broke his ethics as a lawyer - what were the repercussions of that? That is not what a lawyer should be doing. I was even more surprised that someone like Da Qi was ok with it.
(3) An inconsistency that bothered me so much - Yu Xin as a legal assistant speaking to clients & making decisions before even becoming a lawyer. THAT NEVER HAPPENS IN THE REAL WORLD.
(4) More on Da Qi & Yu Xin bonding - I don't mean romance per se. But at the end of the day, they came across as work buddies to me (rather than partners)
(5) I don't think they fully explored Da Qi's psyche over hallucinating his girlfriend, or even what he did for the years he didn't take on any case. Also other than Yu Xin being the daughter of someone he respected, they never fully explained why he decided to return to the legal profession
Ok let's get startedFirst of all we all should sign up as organ donors!!! It's really important to donate our…
This is set in a dystopian world. They are clones, & the concept of rights doesn't apply because they were born to serve humans (and it is heartbreaking because it doesn't make them any less or any different from a human (re: Manami who died fighting for that very freedom humans have)
It is not that they are allowed to have sex per se, but it is more the result/consequences of them living in the housing together & the last shot at enjoying their live & youth before their organs are slowly taken away. After all they are human (despite being clones). Sex is also symbolic to the little freedom they enjoy. Little chances of contracting STD because they are medically tested frequently.
The whole thing makes it even more heartbreaking, because that is what the real world also does. We classify humans based on their status (and what not) & attach more value to certain calsses, when in reality, we're all human. The value of 1 human is priceless & is no different from another.
Their shoes have trackers, and they are monitored constantly, so their interaction with the outside world is limited. Also outside world won't interact with them because they are easily identifiable as clones (who have literally no rights, & are not seen as equals to humans, again death of Manami in that square is proof of it)
This show did full justice to the book IMO. Read it if you like :)
Is there too much romance ,unrequited love n melodrama bcz i wont watch it then?m here for just psychological.
It is purely psychological. There is unrequited love, but it doesn't take away from looking into the human psyche. It never trails off the actual story. This is a must watch if you're into psychological dramas. It is as real & as dark as it gets. The 2nd half is fantastic! Also one of those rare dramas that did full justice to the book.
DECENT one-time watch, with pleasant characters, & legal cases that were not too complex, but were well intertwined with the story. There was consistency in the pace, & writing which was a big plus for me. Slightly above average drama that kept my interest all through thanks to the characters.
Hahah the singing cut scenes always pop out of nowhere in tdramas. But I'd rather have than than ads so yay. ALso…
So I've been watching T dramas since the 90s, and I'm used to the ad breaks. But in this drama the ad breaks really make me laugh cause most of the times it ends with a serious scene but the music that plays translates to 'it's great you laughed' XD Really cracks me up each time!!
She's not the best actress but I always end up watching everything she's in because she never disappoints with her script choices. Literally not a single bad project from her.

I do wish they wrote Kurumi better.
