I saw someone watching this on the train today, and it brought back memories. Just came here to say that there is nothing revolutionary about their love. In fact it's almost non-existent HAHA
I came across this romantic deleted scene from the drama while searching for the OST. Thought of sharing it here for anyone interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48N8YkVPkFY
There's tons more of these, not every jdrama has the "anime-like" acting, those are in *some* of those shoujo…
Other than the ones mentioned, check out the following -
Horimiya (currently airing) Sekai Ichi Muzukashii Koi Zenkai Girl Soratobu Kouhoushitsu Takane No Hana Orange Days Aishiteiru to Ittekure Date Lupin No Musume In This Corner of the World Destiny-Like Love Nemureru Mori no Jukujo Rich Man Poor Woman Uchi no Musume wa Kareshi ga Dekinai (currently airing)
I don't agree with your comment about recent jdramas seemingly looking like soft-porn at all, makes me curious…
Wow it's quite the opposite for me. I keep coming across so many fantastic J dramas even in the recent years (that too in the majority). Those with infidelity & sexual content are so few in numbers like I barely come across a few a year. Too bad these are the ones that become popular, causing many to think that's what all J dramas are about.
wow I actually gasped when Hibiki actually shot Kurumi with the bow but makes sense when he's become so bloodthirsty…
You said pretty much everything I wanted to say! I am enjoying this for what it is & how circumstances push humans to the darkest versions of themselves. We are after all made for survival.
Oh man, I feel you so much. I grew up in that era as well & back then, it was like all the leads were competing for the most toxic ML title. I had a phase when I was so into cold, toxic MLs & I would romanticise their behaviour. I'm so glad I grew out of that phase to realise that being kind was the real deal. Happy that times have changed.
Honestly would have preferred if Motoharu stayed back and tried to make a better relationship with Mio instead…
YES TO THIS!! It is so important to live in this moment & do the best you can. I wasn't for the idea of them going back but I'll see how it plays out before judging.
10 episodes in, I can confidently say that I don't see this as a remake anymore. They made this their own story & what a contemplative & beautiful show this has been. There was not a single dull moment. As excited as I am about the ending, the lessons this has taught with me will stay with me for long. It's nice to see the comments section come alive after E10 HAHA
What is with Kurumi backhugging evil Doc? I get that she was consoling him but I don't know why it made me uncomfortable.
Kurumi & Hibiki have chosen their camps & I'm looking forward to see them fight against each other. Things are heating up! Show, please give us a good confrontation. Also people criticising Hibiki, how the hell do you expect him to identify her from her back? You gotta be kidding me!
I'm starting to like Kanae. Her confession was honest and had heart. But I am not shipping anyone with anyone romantically. Not yet.
The cinematography of this show continues to amaze me.
Scholar pointed out something great - shouldn't they be fighting golems instead? But its now turned into human vs human. And that's what has been happening for centuries. People fighting against each other, rather than uniting to defeat the problem. This is why mankind has been doomed from the start.
