Re-watching the 2nd time made me notice all the more that Paeng never stopped loving Arthit but hid her emotions and kept him at a distance (totally opposite of her possessive and controlling behaviour when she was young) to avoid hurting him, herself and everyone else. She needed his forgiveness not only because of guilt, but because he was important to her and wanted his acceptance. In E15, there were many times that she gave away her feelings and let her guard down. Over the course of E15-E19, there are many times she struggled to hide those feelings.
Re-watching their scenes from the start... he becomes such a flower in E15 <3 I can't remember the last time I saw a gentle ML. Anybody knows dramas where the ML is gentle like Arthit?
Re-watching their scenes from the start for the first time.. and damn E8 was such a turning point in Arthit's feelings for Paeng. Bit by bit, you see how he sought her out more, how he softened, how he cared. I can confidently say that he already forgave her. It was such a good episode!
Finally watched the finale with subs and I will say that I loved this drama with and regardless of its flaws.
My 2 cents on the leads relationship in the finale -
1. Paeng admitting that she loves Arthit was lovely. IMO that was her way of fighting for her love, and giving Arthit hope. She broke down such a huge wall there, and I was so proud of her and the honest conversation the leads had. Love the explanation that she gave of how she didn't want to build their happiness upon the foundation of a ruined relationship with his mum. I am so so glad that this conversation happened, and I am even more glad that they fought over this the next morning. It brought out both the honesty and tenderness of their relationship as well as how flawed it was. Thumbs up to how they both silently fought for their relationship. Yes, they didn't fight Mum or convince her, but they let each other go and decided to give each other and Mum the time and space while waiting. LOVED the silent strength there! This is where I will say that the show could have done with more conversations between these two.
2. Love how Arthit learned to respect Paeng's space and her decision, though you can see he wanted more (be it her staying or be it sleeping with her). He grew into such a gentle, beautiful man who tried at every turn to make Paeng comfortable. I love how hesitant and awkward Paeng was whenever he came close despite wanting more. But the moment those walls were broken, her body language changed to a confident woman who smiled with her heart. You see glimpses of it when she tries to woo him, and it builds up to the wedding sequence, where she kisses him openly. Love how she went from being so private and closed to opening up more and sharing more with Arthit.
3. The parallels the show drew at their relationship. How both of them did similar things when expressing their love (her as a young teen and him when he gets jealous over Anaconda & realises that he loves her) to how both of them matured as individuals and two people in a relationship, it was lovely. They learned to be patient, and to love rather than to possess. It's amazing how the past set up the foundation, yet they were able to begin on a clean slate as though the past did not happen.
4. Paeng's conversation with Anaconda emphasised how this show, more than anything, was Paeng's journey and story through and through. How she grew from a girl who was of the belief of an eye for an eye to a woman who learned to forgive, learned to be patient and most importantly, learned to love (rather than possess)
5. THE WEDDING - OMG IT LOOKED SO REAL. Too many feels. I loved every moment of it, especially the kisses between the leads and the way they were able to have a conversation just smiling at each other and enjoying the chaos of moment rather than being anxious or scared of it. It made me appreciate their journey so much more <3
Finally watched E18 with subs, and I cried. I wish I had the time to watch it before I watched the finale raw LOL.
1. Loved the courtroom sequence and how Anaconda got arrested. This was one of the better courtroom scenes that I've seen in an Asian drama. I enjoyed it. As much as I complained while watching it raw, when I finally watched with subs, I realised that this was so important for Paeng to receive the closure she needed. It definitely lifted a burden off her chest. Paeng's hurt, anger, embarrassment and pain throughout the sequence was well acted by Kao.
2. The swing scene - little said but so much expressed. I absolutely love it when the leads communicate. I don't think Arthit doubted her love for him even though he said that. He was clearly fighting and trying, hoping that she will say something. But when she did not give any explanation whatsoever, he lost hope, and you can see that manifest in the last scene when he's desperate and doesn't know how to make her stay. Its his way (in my opinion) of asking her to share because he doesn't know how to do it directly.
3. For those who said they couldn't feel Paeng's love, I felt it through and through in this episode. When she asked Aeung to take care of Arthit, when she told Arthit that he was her encouragement, when she wanted to hug him so bad but couldn't because of the mother, when she looked at him and cried in Court, when she hugged him after Mark got arrested, when she fought her tears at the swing... all of it screamed love to me.
4. I can finally understand why Mum's acceptance was so important to Paeng. She lost her parents and knows what a family means given that she doesn't have it. Regardless of how Cobra treated her, Paeng was grateful that she gave her a home and a place to stay. She couldn't ask for more. Yes, she hurt Arthit in the process, but I think she believed that he would understand and that they could love each other from a distance, and we see that manifest in the motorbike scene. He held her hand and she held his, they were so close yet so far.
This drama could have done with more conversations, more time given for Paeng to heal. and most importantly more monologues for viewers to understand Paeng's hesitation and hurt, as well as how Arthit's feelings for Paeng gradually developed.
Anyone please suggest a drama so that we can meet again.......i dont want to leave you guys "crying"
Currently I'm only watching a few ongoing Japanese dramas. They're all so good! Check them out: Remolove 35sai no shoujo Kono Koi Atatamemasuka Kiken Na Venus
