I did not talk about whether being obese is healthy or not. I merely said why shame them? There are bigger bodied people who are bullied and go through a lot of trauma because of it.

Also, yes - I am not denying that Africa doesn't have poverty, terrorism etc.
But the "poor children of Africa" comment is a stereotype and narrative ignoring the other realities of the continent. An example: rising obesity in Africa where "1 in 5 adults and 1 in 10 children are projected to be obese by December 2023" or even the whole history of corruption and exploitation.

Anyway this is no contest. To each their own.

I love how silly and cute the 1st episode was, and I was prepared to love it BUT why can't they be funny without being offensive? Humour doesn't always have to offend.

I literally made the same comment on another K drama which I dropped yesterday - WHY are bigger sized women always presented as gluttons who just eat all day? They seriously need to stop with the fat-shaming. One's body does not define their identity. There is so much more to a person's personality beyond the way they look.

Also, what's with the racist and ignorant bit of him sponsoring African children? There is poverty in every damn country. Africa isn't the only continent with poor people. South Korea itself is filled with tons of poor people.

That aside, I'm enjoying this. Let' s see how long it lasts.

This is random but I'm on E1 and the neighbourhood the FL moved into - SUCH NOSTALGIA! So many of the older K dramas used to be filmed there.. seeing it in a K drama after so long made me feel old and happy LOL

I'm currently watching Love on A Shoestring and it has the same vibe with the effects, campiness, and simple characters. It's probably even more funny and campy than this.

A simple, delicate movie dealing with hard-hitting issues relating to immigration, identity, culture, discrimination (to name a few). Arashi Lina really delivered. I would love to see more of her. Also, have to say this - movies like these fill me with so much empathy and sadness for people who have to struggle for the most basic necessities in life, and equally thankful and privileged that I can sit comfortably in a home of my own and have access to the basic necessities. It's really not a fair world. I wonder what I did to deserve this privilege and why the same isn't given to everyone..

They say they're Kurdish but they were speaking Turkish. And based on my very limited knowledge, Kurdish doesn't sound like Turkish at all, though they have similar words. Correct me if I am wrong.

E5 - I had the biggest smile on my face when she completed her surgery. This show is so damn beautiful OH MY HEART.
Sanpei and Miyabi are tugging at my heart so bad. Please let them get together at the end.

I am glad they're beginning the dialogue on her medication.
AND GAHHHHHHHHHH fangirling over Sanpei and Miyabi's little moment when she sprayed his hair <3
Sanpei's confrontation with Asano scared me.
Love how they explained the title of the drama. Unmet = Unfulfilled.
That makes me feel like we're gonna get a sad ending to this... I hope not.
Sanpei's tear when he thought of Miyabi.. I wanna give this man a hug.
Happy for the little development with Miyabi at the end of the episode. I'm glad the episode ended with Miyabi and Sanpei's smiles :)

The Chairman eats like some unruly predator devouring his prey. He gives me the chills sometimes. I seriously wonder what Miyabi stumbled upon for him to take an interest in her.
I adore the way Miyabi is so kind. Like she truly listens to people and takes an interest in them. She doesn't hold grudges. I just hope that when the truth is revealed (whatever it is), she doesn't lose that kindness and softness.
Miyabi realising the connection between yesterday and today was poignant.
Also, just the visual of both of them walking together on a windy day... <3

Loved what Miyabi and the officer said about embracing the current feelings. You can tell that Miyabi completely trusts and likes Sanpei in the way she assured him that she won't meet Ayano again. I am glad Ayano didn't turn out to be the douche I was expecting him to be based on the first few episodes.
And yes, go Miyabi YOU DESERVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH!

The leads clearly love each other (you can't tell me otherwise) though this isn't primarily a romance drama.

I decided to watch it slowly and savour it rather than binge it all at one go because this drama is worth it :)
Finally watched till Episode 8! LOVE LOVE LOVE this drama. It is so beautiful.
WHY ARE MORE PEOPLE ON MDL NOT WATCHING THIS?!

I'm 4 episodes in and I am struggling with the same thing.
The premise is really interesting but WORD on the progression, dialogue and characters. You nailed it! It's like she just randomly entered their lives and is suddenly everywhere and interfering so much?! It's too sudden.. almost felt like I started watching this drama from the middle. And the characters also feel a little typecast like they've been given a title and they're just acting that but not actually living that character. It's not about the acting but the lack of layers to the characterisation.

I'm only 2 episodes in and it's an interesting premise but I really dislike 1 thing -
Why do so many K dramas like to present a big sized woman as someone who just wants to eat all the time, is clumsy and would settle for anyone that shows interest in her?!

What a solid and fun detective drama! I loved it!
Kazama Shunsuke was perfect as the ditzy genius ML with a weakness for cute women. You can't help but love him. The cases were somewhat interesting too. All in all, a great mix of comedy-mystery with heart. I highly recommend this if you're looking for an underrated detective drama that is different and binge-worthy.
On to Season 2 :)
