Talking about overhyped dramas... Unbelievable that it has the same rating as masterpieces (and highly awarded) dramas such as Goblin, the Uncanny Counter, The Devil Judge, Mouse, Kingdom, Youth of May and so on, It's even a slight higher than other awarded masterpieces like Kill Me Heal Me, Hotel del Luna, Sweet Home, Chicago Typewriter and so on. I hope that in the near future, MDL expands the ratings to include a breakdown by 'age groups' like the one in imdb.com, so we can easily see which age group is driving the ratings up.

In the section 'Details' (left side) of each drama here in MDL, it will show you the age rating. Also in (i) imdb.com, and (ii) namu.wiki, there you have to right click to translate the page, it's in the last row (viewer rating) in the summary below the poster. Sometimes a drama has 2 ages which means that one is for tv, and another for cable. Outdated, sometimes it made me sad, or angry or laugh out loud, but never bored. It has the best father-in-law I've seen so far, and the second story that's shown at the end of each episode was really funny. And the OST's song 'emergency room' by the band Izi (이지 which practically became a national anthem in karaoke rooms, is now one of my all-time favorites. I watched in kissasian because some eps in dramacool are truncated at the end.

Yes, but I think it was a creative happy ending. I wanted to watch it because I'm on Kim Rae-won binge lol. I had to watch it in medium-sized screen since the resolution in dramacool is low, but kept me entertained until the end and Kim Rae-won is such a great actor! For this drama, he won MBC Drama Top Excellence actor and Popularity awards, When I was searching for the OST (which I loved), I read that at the time of airing had huge viewer rating in Korea,, ending up with 35%, so I guess that's the reason for the popularity award. It was also the drama that made Kim Rae-won popular in Thailand, and even had high ratings in Japan years later when it was shown there.

Just rewatched to check my rating. Still very very good sismance, romance, ost, acting, and love story. I'm also thinking that if the little boy was american, he would had won an Emmy.

So you are basically insulting the MDL community by stating (based on your non-scientific-non-statistical data) that we are not capable of distinguishing between our love for certain leads and the quality of a drama (script, direction, acting, and so on). Exactly, overacting is actually expected in live-action, specially comedies. This was really fun to watch (I chose it among your completed list, where I review your ratings when I want to watch J-dramas or movies)

They do portray manga characters that way, especially comedies. You should watch the famous classic Nodame Cantabile (2006), one of the highest rated live-action that won many awards (including Japanese Drama Academy Awards for Best Drama, Best Lead Actress, Best Direction, Best Music). It won awards (high ratings too) in South Korea. Even in stingy imdb site it's rated 8.3. The sequel and movie are also very good.

I agree 100%, and it was so much fun! I loved the way the ML portrays his manga character (reminded me of Nodame Cantabile), and most of the characters. I know I'll rewatch it again sometime.

That's a very good idea! I know that many asian tv series are in wikipedia where most of the time they indicate the ratings (red for high, blue for lower), and if it's written in korean, I can right-click google translate. In fact, I'm watching Which star are you from, which had the number one rating for each episode when it was broadcasted and here is 7.4. Wish me luck lol
