Actually, in episode 5, he starts looking at her with new eyes as he perceives how kind she is as she reads poetry to an illiterate elderly woman and even the Empress makes an equal-opportunity policy change based on FL’s report which impresses the ML. Also, the Empress Assistant called FL a virtuous wife. All of these things made ML perceive he had a good woman. He starts with the sultry eyes, stealing glances at her all the time, starting in ep 5.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Ryan Ding brought his A-game. Extremely swoonworthy. The plot itself and the cases were complex and hard to follow, mentally exhausting. But, now that it’s all over and I understand the whole thing, it’s worth a rewatch so that I can absorb the fine details. The smart FL was charming and endearing. Their chemistry was heart-fluttering.

Agree. I don’t like the ML. He definitely learned this behavior from his Dad. He might even be worse than Dad, because at least, Dad doesn’t yell. ML yells at FL, his emloyees, his colleague. He’s a selfish Grumpy Gus.

Had me BAWLING 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I first saw his comedic chops in “Doctor Slump.” He stole the show there. I have seen him in many dramas before, but wasn’t a fan til Doctor Slump. Comedy is definitely his forte.

I do, OMG. Her insecure cringing in embarrassment all the time doesn’t fit her supposedly tough, matter-of-fact, it-is-what-it-is personality. If she’s so tough, why get embarrassed so easily and often? A nonchalant air would make more sense. I find her character very confusing and not charming.

Typical “I will push you away and hurt you for your own good” plot
