Mostly, this is pretty boring. But, I can’t quite give it up either.

Honestly, I feel bad for Hyewon. She is married to the danger, unsuspecting that he’s really using her and that he knew all along that she was using him to social climb. Or, is she really that blind and trusting? Anywho, this is the life she wanted. So, whatever trouble comes, she asked for it.

I really dislike In Ha. He’s jealous of Tae Oh and indignant that he’s been calling the shots. But, clearly In Ha is not as stupid as he originally appeared to be. Turnabout is fair play and obviously In Ha wasn’t going to be content to be the obedient puppet forever. So, his turning against Tae Oh isn’t too surprising. But, I really need Tae Oh to turn this situation around real quick.

FL frowns a lot. She has frowny resting face.

I am not enjoying this. Honestly, I understand the real granddaughter’s rage.

I enjoyed “I May Love You” too. I totally understood the FL character’s attitude.

It’s odd that the FL was eager for the romantic relationship. You’d think his changed behavior towards her would have been frightening, hard to process. But, nope, she just jumped right in. This is nuts.

I wonder if second ML and FL’s Sis-n-law had something going on. I picked up nervous energy from her when his name was mentioned.

Same. Gave me butterflies. Really looking forward to understanding what went wrong and seeing them repair the relationship.

Yes, it’s a pleasant PG drama because of that fact. You can watch it with family without getting embarrassed. So that’s a plus when you looking for something gentle and nice to watch. But, not for when you’re looking for butterflies.

Agree. Some of the scenes feel empty. Feels like we’re getting filler scenes already at this early stage of the drama. The leads interactions are always great though. Need more of them! The second ML is intriguing and Crazy Aunt Beom Ja is good for some comic relief. But, the mean, cold cliché Mom and grandpa and his calculating girlfriend (can already tell she’s shady) are a waste of screen time. Not enjoying those story arcs. But, I definitely want to understand how the lead couple got so distant and how they rekindle the spark.

Crazy Aunt Beom Ja 🤣 🤣. She looked amazing in that leopard dress though. Gotta give her that.

Zero chemistry. Unpopular opinion, I’m sure. But, zilch. I get zero butterflies watching these two together. Ready for this to be over already.

KKY should have been cast as the villain ex-husband. That’s the more interesting character. He would’ve knocked that out of the park. As the overly-nice colleague, his talent was wasted. Also, he as a love-interest just wasn’t believable. There were several times when he seemed to want to break character and burst out laughing at all the ridiculousness. This ML role wasn’t the one. Looking forward to his next endeavor!

As far as his being 12 when recruited by his master, he was probably older than that, probably 15/16, as Asian characters are usually much older than they look. (Remember, Zhao Lusi’s teenage character in “Hidden Love” was much older than the young actress appeared). Regardless, the ML character probably isn’t that old, as you your math indicates, but the actor himself looks old even though he’s only 38 irl. He looks every bit of 40 to me. And, the FL actress has a baby face. The ML looks like a father-figure especially when he first found the child. The ML’s appearance, I believe, adds to the discomfort level of the drama, in addition to the questionable setting itself. If he looked younger, I doubt viewers would find the age difference or adoptive status as off-putting. Take “Go Ahead” for instance. That was a “sibling” romance too, but not nearly as offensive. It’s a taboo scenario regardless.

Interestingly, in ancient times, some cultures did, in fact, raise child-brides, wherein a young girl was adopted, deliberately brought into a family for the son (or another male member of the family) to marry, yet she was raised as a sibling or relative to her future husband. That wasn’t the case in this drama, though, as they just happened to fall in love. A very uncomfortable and controversial, yet provocative story.
