wow the violence and gore in episodes 10 and 11 .... way more than i expected lol. the dad's backstory is more…
Agree. Too much useless violence. Got ridiculous at a certain point because the superhumans were using brawn only and no brains at all to fight. It was pretty stupid. (Great show overall though, donât get me wrong. But there were some stupid bits here and there.) Only Mihyun used brains and strategy to defeat the villains because she didnât have the raw brute strength. Oh, and Bungaeman tooâhe really came through for the kids by using his brain and discernment.
Not nearly enough Jo In Sung (Doosik) and way too much Juwon. Juwon was a great character, true enough, but definitely wanted more screen time for Doosik and his backstory.
Too violentâgratuitous, takes away from the story. Jo In Sungâs and Han Hyo Jooâs romance was swoonworthy, but the kiss scene didnât make my heart flutter. Director doesnât know how to film a kiss properly. Target audience clearly must be guys because women like a well-done kiss scene where we can properly see the kiss, the actual lips. I guess guys donât care about that. On episode 10 now. I barely want to go on because of the intense violence. I want to see the kidsâ story though and how things turn out for them. I love those kids. Overall, the drama has dropped from a 10 to a 7/8 for me.
Great drama. Top-tier quality. Exciting. Mysterious. Well-developed fictional world of rival martial arts sects. Gorgeous cinematography, visuals, and sets. At the start, a bit slow and draggy with no explanation of events, so itâs very confusing at first. Then at the end, thereâs a long, drawn-out explanation which becomes a tiresome soliloquy, but at least you get all the answers to your burning questions finally. 10/10.
We did get a few kisses from the lead couple, but they were very weak kisses. Is Linghe that bad of a kisser (because we know Esther isnât) or did the Director say for him to kiss like that? Didnât make my heart flutter at all. Nevertheless, their relationship and chemistry were sweet and gentle and warmâtrue loveâvery pretty to watch. Really enjoyed this exciting dramaâ not your same olâ same olâ. This was definitely a cut above. Deserves awards. That cliffhanger thoughârolling my eyes đ. Season 2 perhaps?
Kinda agree. There were pleasant bits and there were unpleasant bits. Just wish there had been more lovey-dovey moments with the leads, more time seeing them as a regular couple working to make their relationship last. Didnât get nearly enough of that.
Weak on skinship though. The chemistry was FANTASTIC, especially with the second lead couple (ie, Shangjue & Shaungguan), but not a single kiss between them (disappointing because that actor, Ryan Cheng, is an excellent kisser and a phenomenal actor). Their relationship was cold, steeped in distrust and scheming, but, man, they were smoking hot togetherâthat bath scene đ, Woww đ€©(but it still fell short of the bath scene in âButterflied Loverâ). However, to be fair, I do indeed like the tastefully done, toned-down lust (a far cry from the disgusting, gratuitous stuff on certain HBO productions which shall remain nameless) and I much prefer cdramasâ clean romance; but still, give us a kiss please when the chemistry is this hot!!!
