Watching their goodbye in 36, and seriously what is her deal? I don't understand why she's upset and pushing him…
She might reveal herself to her brother one day. But for now, she feels it isn’t the right time. And, when that day comes, I believe he will be mature enough to understand all of the reasons she handled things as she did. (Perhaps, his knowing now, might put him in real danger or in a compromising, vulnerable position with the government.) Little Bro seems at peace with the situation even though he misses her. Maybe now, that he received the cookies, he might even suspect the truth. The truth has a way of revealing itself eventually.

It’s not the leads’ responsibilities to stay by their grown siblings’ side. Grown adults can take care of themselves. Jin’an and Li Shuang have the right to live their own lives. From what I see, little brother is finally growing up now that his big sis is not around. Prince Annan’s brother is surrounded by guards and ministers to help him. Even still, DAD/Jin’an is likely watching the situation and will not leave his brother in a vulnerable position. Same goes for Li Shuang and her little brother. In real life, siblings grow up and lead their own separate lives. That doesn’t mean they are shirking their responsibilities towards their siblings.
I wish there could’ve been a political marriage between Taijin and Yao State wherein General Li and Prince Annan got married, were granted clemency by both nations, and could live happily openly together. I really liked Prince Annan. I wanted her to end up with him. At his core, Jin’an is who Prince Annan really is. He isn’t the cruel, malevolent person we were led to believe he was in ep1. The story should have fused his identities together better instead of getting rid of Prince Annan.

Shirk responsibilities? They were both considered traitors in their respective countries. Prince Annan was granted clemency by his big brother the Emperor. But, still, Prince Annan, being extremely upright, felt it wasn’t appropriate to continue to hold his title. To appease her country, General Li, as well, took responsibility for engaging with the enemy (as everyone knew she was Jin’an/DAD’s woman). They weren’t shirking anything. They left their countries to respect peoples’ sense of justice and rule of law and to preserve the peace that had finally been obtained. I personally hope that one day both of them can come out of retirement and do good for a country that can use their superior skills. They are both too excellent to just wander around in the woods. That’s why the drama feels incomplete. I need an another episode of their new life together with them continuing to be their excellent best selves.

They were both considered traitors in their countries because of everything that went down. General Li enabled Prince Annan to be a traitor to his own countrymen, even though she didn’t know his identity. She doesn’t want to admit that he was indeed the Jin’an and Masked Man in Black who helped her kill his own countrymen. Also, she doesn’t want to confirm his suspicions that they were lovers because then he has to face the fact that he has tortured the very woman he had married and loved so deeply before as Jin’an. How painful a thing that would be for him to bear! Her not confirming the truth is a way of saving face for both of them. She still loves him desperately, but she has to let him go as they are from enemy states. Her flirting with him while she was a POW in the shabby house was the closest thing she could get to being his woman again. She was teasing him a bit, but on some level, she possibly wanted him to remember her, to love her, because she missed him. She told him straight up that it made her happy when she saw him. She was loving him in her way under these circumstances.
For me, it was a happy ending, but it also felt incomplete. What will their new life be like? Will they ever get to use their superior leadership skills again? Will DAD get to use his superpowers again? Staying tucked away in the woods seems like a waste of their talents.
I want to like Victoria Song, but she wears a perpetual aloof expression, as if something smells bad, in a lot of her roles. (I call it the “stank face” 😆). I loved her in “Find Yourself” and have tried to support her dramas. But, I end up having to drop them. Hope this one will be different because I really, really like Ryan Ding. I will say, however, that Victoria Song is pure fire 🔥 as a singer/dancer. I LOVED that remix of her hit song that she did with Dylan Wang rapping “Der, der, der, der, der” 😁🎶🎤💃🏻
