Because the female lead has 4 pursuers, so it's normal for having so many heated discussions here and there. Like in The Tale of Rose, the female leads also had 4 male leads so there was bound to have heated discussions as well as in this drama's comment section

I know TSJ is the best partner for XY as he's willing to do anything for her. But, his character and the actor's portrayal of that character 🤦‍♀️ no, I don't hate him (do not get carried away that you think I hate him, because I don't hate him at all). I know he already worked hard in expressing TSJ's character and there's still room for improvement. It's just I can't warm up to him. Yes, his character is so devoted to XY. But, his character is so boring and stiff compared to CX and XL. I know he'll be the end game for sure and I agree that he's the most suitable for XY who can accompany her forever. I like green flag male leads of course. IMHO, Yang Zi has good chemistry with all her costars here, but it's just she has got the best chemistry with Tan Jian Ci. Regarding the character, I like CX the most as he's like an onion which is made of many layers. Zhang Wan Yi is excellent in his portrayal as CX👍

Oh, thank you for the spoiler. Glad that she's being cherished by Cang Xuan. That girl, although in the beginning was annoyingly immature, but her character has grown on me so much that I want her to be treasured as well.

To be honest, it's very very rare to find a C-modern drama as good as this 😁

Yeah, I think she's open to new adventures and I don't really think much about her and Lin Yi's character either. Maybe what she said about He Xi to Fang Xie Wen while on his car was right. She thought He Xi resembled Xie Wen and she found him to be pleasant. Tbh, I think harder about her ex husband and her ex boy friend 🥲 though both of them were all Yi Mei's past. But after all, Yi Mei is free from any restraints and I like that a lot. She's open to anything and that's what matters the most

The special episode maybe. Because I watched the special episode last night as a Wetv VIP member. You should watch that because there are a couple of scenes worth to watch, especially the reconciliation betwen Fang Xie Wen and Huang Zhen Hua. There is also a scene between Guo Dong and Yi Mei which happened before they had their first kiss if I remember correctly

Her brother's scenes were quite a lot though. I like the brother's character, but not so much about his story with his wife. Not because they didn't have any chemistry (they do have), but I don't know I find them to quite bland. Su Su's character and story are great but when it comes to her love story with Yi Mei's brother, I just find them quite boring

Although Lin Geng Xin's character was really annoying in the beginning, but I like him in the last episodes (right from the moment he gave up his desires to claim his daughter). And he's so handsome OMG in this drama during the later episodes, especially when he wore eyeglasses (his handsomeness is on another level). I like Shenli very much as well

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Yi Mei always has Guo Dong, Xie Wen, and Jia Ming in her heart, just maybe the proportion will be different for each of them. I was feeling really sad the moment Xie Wen said that all he ever wanted was a happy family dinner just like they did in the last ep. As for Guo Dong, I also felt really sad when he treated the meal that Yi Mei wanted to eat but he missed it because of his busy schedule back in France. OMG, great scenario and amazing acting from the 3 of them

I rarely watch modern Cdramas as most of them tend to be boring, not deep, or poorly acted by the actors and actresses. But, here we're given great actors and actresses in 1 single drama and it makes me think a lot about life and love. It's controversial as each characters in drama makes many rooms for discussion. This is one of the 3 most favorite C-dramas in 2024 for me (the other 2 are The Legend of Shenli and The Double) and even 1 of my all-time favorite Cdramas. This will be a quite long review that I'll post here and on the review section since I know most people tend to read the comments first before the review section. 8.5/10
Acting:
- Liu Yi Fei: is great in this role. I love her from the beginning part of this series. She pays attention to details very well in every scenes she's in. And guess what, I find her to be very beautiful in an ethereal way and she's very capable to distinguish her chemistry between her costars. During her first love phase with Zhuang Guo Dong (Peng Guan Ying), she was able to make us believe that she was passionately in love for the 1st time in her life. She was impulsive and yet she had that sizzling and magnetic chemistry with her 1st love. During her 2nd love phase with Fang Xie Wen (Lin Geng Xin) in the beginning of their love story before their marriage was destined to go down the hill, she showed us how she was comfortable, safe, and peaceful to be in love with her husband. And that chemistry with her husband was shown to us very well in that way. While she was with her soulmate, Fu Jia Ming (Wallace Huo), though it was not as strong as her 1st love, but she was able to show us how she felt free and unrestrained with her soulmate.
- Tong Da Wei and Wan Qian: they are good and have good chemistry though I like their characters when they are not together in 1 scene. Huang Zhen Hua and Su Su are likeable characters, especially Zhen Hua. First time watching Tong Da Wei in a drama and he's really good in portraying comical scenes without any awkwardness AT ALL. He has great chemistry as brother and sister with Liu Yi Fei. So rare to see such natural banters between 2 actors.
- Lin Geng Xin: I really liked him in Shenli and To Love and here, I was made to loath his character. But, his portrayal of Fang Xie Wen is brilliant. After redeeming himself after the fight for custody, I was able to relate to his character a lot, especially during the last episode. How inferiority affected and consumed him wholly that he regretted that a lot losing a very loving, kind-hearted, amazing woman who supported and loved him unconditionally. His controlling nature and his patriarchy surrounding made his love for his wife became so suffocating and in the end, he regretted. He portrayed that scene in the most heart-wrenching way. But, IMO, he is quite lucky to be able to live happily with his daughter. Though Yi Mei is not his wife anymore, but at least he gets to see her more often than Guo Dong. I like his chemistry with Liu Yi Fei in the last episodes and initial episodes when they were still in good relationship.
- Peng Guan Ying: This is my first time watching him in a drama. I must say, his portrayal of Zhuang Guo Dong is really really good. He exudes great chemistry with Liu Yi Fei. His character is the most pitiful one in my opinion. His character lingers to his past love with Yi Mei and that is what's so pitiful. When I first watched his scenes with Yi Mei from ep 3-12, I felt that he was selfish and so career-oriented, but then I realized that it was his choice to begin with. He regretted that he didn't go back to Yi Mei earlier but for making him still linger in his past was really torturing.

All actors and actresses in this drama all portrayed their characters very very well but the 5 above are the most remarkable ones. For those who haven't watched this drama, give this drama a chance and try to watch it with wise perspective, then you'll find this drama to be amazing in its own way

Nope, The Tale of Rose team already made it clear that there wouldn't be any second seasond. So, they left us with our own imagination. She might start a new relationship with Lin Yi's character or not, it is up to our own imagination lol but, I think they might date because he seems smitten to her and she has that good impression of him. Though I don't know whether his character could ever surpass her soulmate

A potential lover to be exact. As a viewer, we'll be left by that status 🙂

Hmm, I don't know if you have watched ep 35, but he has redeemed himself. And at ep 38, he finally had a heart to heart talk with Yi Mei that he thought Yi Mei chose him like because she felt like forced to. But, Yi Mei made it clear that she loved him during that time of their marriage. So, after their fight for custody in ep 34, he has already redeemed himself from a hateable character to a decent ex-husband and good friend to the FL. After watching the last 6 episodes, I was finally able to relate to his character a lot. Yes, he was really annoying, controlling, manipulating, but he finally redeemed himself and knew what he had lost, a very kind-hearted woman who wanted to live humbly with him without demanding anything, loved him unconditionally, supported him, fought for him. Even after their divorce, she only told the good things about him to her soulmate

Oh, on trailer ep 12, Rose will meet his parents in an elite event. So, maybe the real breakup will happen around ep 13 or 14. So, for a guest role as Rose's first love, I think that's already quite long

But, I think they'll still be together until around ep 11 because I saw him on the trailer of ep 11 and 12 last night

I like her with Xiao He to be honest for now 🤭 but, when I saw at Dramawiki that Su would be his wife, then I came to prepare myself for the separation between Xiao He and Yi Mei's bro
