I've always thought they added that scene way after the show was done filming. I think they added it because a lot of viewers thought Yijin was dead. I mean, it made no sense for this perfect couple to break up forever (even if needed temporarily) so a bunch of people theorized Yijin was dead since we didn't see him in current times like we did Heedo. So the writers scrambled to throw together a scene showing Yijin in the present and this was the best they could come up with. My theory only.

No. You have to stop at the end of 13 for a "happy ending" with them together if that's what you're looking for. Your heart starts getting ripped apart in 14.

Same! I love it so much! The OST really is something special for sure. It totally draws me in. So does NJH! He is so so good as Dosan. So yes, I agree with your reasons of rewatching over and over as I do the same.

It was the super sad ending. It was rated at least a 9.1 while it was on air. I had it ranked at a 10 the whole time while watching. After the ending, I marked it down to 9.5. I couldn't give a perfect 10 to a show that absolutely broke my heart and left me numb and damaged with grief. But also couldn't rank it any lower than a 9.5 because it was nearly perfect. I imagine a lot of people did the same thing and that's why the score is only an 8.8.

This is the best review of this show that I've read. You hit all the points perfectly about why people were disappointed with the last 3-4 episodes. They had to change the characters to fit the ending that they had planned from the beginning. It didn't work well. Everything felt rushed (the last 3 episodes happened over the span of like 2 years) whereas the first 13 episodes was also the span of about 2 years. The characters didn't even seem like themselves the last few episodes which is another reason I felt so uneasy and off. Thanks for pointing all this out!

OMG agreed!!! And another thing I noticed was that she never touched HJP on purpose other than a handshake. That girl could NOT keep her hands off of Dosan from the very start. Did you notice that? She was very handsy with him from the moment she met him at the party. What does that tell us?? If we look at it from HER point of view, Dosan was the only one for her. No clue why people thought she should have ended up with HJP when she was never interested in him for one second. Very strange. I think the viewers wanted what THEY wanted, but didn't think of the actual character in the story and what SHE wanted.

No, the FL never once showed any attraction to the SML. Not once. Even when she found out he was the one who truly wrote the letters, she was confused for a few days, but then quickly realized her feelings were still for the ML. That's why I was so confused why people were so mad about the ending as well. They only looked at it from the SML's side and never about what the FL really felt. Why did her feelings not matter to these viewers? Very strange to me. Sure, they may not have agreed with her feelings, but getting mad the SML doesn't get what HE wants doesn't seem fair. And I like what you wrote below. The SML never made a move all those years because he never sensed she liked him. Because she didn't!! So he didn't lose his chance. He just never had one and deep down he knew it. I'm sorry you've given up on the show. That first episode is HEAVY in so many ways. Dalmi's father suffered in so many ways and it's starting point for using their new start up to try to fix things in their society and families.

Thank you! I never understood either. And key to all this was SDM couldn't seem to keep her thoughts or her hands off NDS. I never once saw her touch HJP except that time he fell backwards. That said it all to me. I'm not sure why people never once looked at it from SDM's point of view. That girl was never interested for one second in HJP. So why did they think he deserved a girl just because he liked HER and there was no reciprocation. Very strange. Why do the girl's feelings not count to them?

So sorry. We are here for you as we've been there. It takes a long time to heal from that ending. I'm still working on it and it's been nearly a year....the numbness is finally gone, but it's still painful to think about this show. I'm wondering when I'll heal?

We are all here for you and will feel the pain with you. I honestly haven't even watched all of Episode 16. My body couldn't physically handle how uncomfortable I was.
