i really liked the last two episodes—this has one of the better finales among all the dramas i've seen. i also thought it started out strong. unfortunately, the middle part is where my interest fluctuated.
Yessssss I totally agree. Actually I feel like there's more parental pressure in kdramas rather than cdramas,…
i didn't watch this, but whenever i think of tropey k-drama parents, i think about those rich parents who throw water or wads of cash at their children's partners :))
the character of her parents was a huge relief for me! i've also seen a handful of c-dramas with overbearing / meddlesome parents. SZ's parents were involved in her life, but they didn't try to take over her life / relationship.
if you like love triangles, cold male leads, damsels in distress, two-faced friends, meddling parents, breakups, etc etc, skip this. nothing much happens in this show, tbh. it's literally about a girl with a long-standing crush. if you don't like age gaps, this is not for you too.
i personally enjoyed watching SZ grow up and navigate her way around her own feelings (my fave work of lu si, so far). she and DZ were adorbs, no question, but i also loved her relationship with her brother, parents, and friends.
that confession—i cried 🥲 i really love SZ's character. everyone around her keeps telling her that she's too young, but i find that she's pretty mature for her age. i love how she can be silly, childlike but also strong, and wise. she's more mature than i am tbh and i'm much older. lol. it also shows that she wasn't just spoiled—she was well-loved by her family.
p.s. her overthinking is too real for me. like, it brings me back to a time when i couldn't help but think of the worst. she's so relatable.
The age difference in the drama between them is 5 years, but in the novel are 7 years. Maybe that is why you’re…
oh i didn't read the novel. in the drama, he'd always mention that they're only five years apart, but when they each mention their actual age, it's 19 and 26. idk if it's just lost in translation.
i'm confused about sz's and djx's ages. i thought she turned 19 on her birthday. then djx supposedly turned 26, but why does he insist he's only 5 years older? is it a lunar calendar thing? not a dealbreaker for me, i'm just wondering. lol.
After watching ep 19 - with some angst, lovey dovey moments and plot leading up to the confrontation - I think…
i thought that fight scene would be in 19 that's why i peeked at the ending. lol. i was planning on skipping today if the angst were still there, but most of the comments said it would probably be resolved around 21. thank god we get 2 eps today!
still can't believe they'll have an actual fist fight tho :(
couldn't agree more I felt anxious for the first time seeing this episode.
i'm actually very confused if she likes him (in a perverted, obsessive way ofc) or whut. cause i remember her expressing how much she hated him after what happened to her dad
their cuteness has made me too weak to watch even the littlest bit of angst. skipping 19 for now and hoping tomorrow's episodes finally put an end to that psycho's storyline.
