Supporting cast steals the spotlight
The leads definitely have chemistry, and the secondary characters’ stories are decent. But the female lead is just… really poorly written. It’s not only about the lying—it’s the inconsistency between how she’s portrayed and who she actually is. I just don’t see the "good" in her.
The secondary couple’s story is far more beautiful. Honestly, I wish their narrative had taken center stage instead.
The writing overall isn’t very strong, and it’s clear this series leans heavily on romance, which
the series delivered... averagely.
Anyway, Hou Minghao is absolutely beautiful here.
