It feels we've already watched this drama. It comes only with different cast.
Xianxia now feels like there is one master template, and you just pick out the bits you want, slap them together, call it a day, and rely on the cast to do the heavy lifting if they can.
Outstanding. It's disappointing that China churns out so much crap, whem they make such great dramas when done well. It's the same for many countries though. Unfortunate.
Nah, just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't make this drama "ridiculously overrated". This drama…
I agree with you. People seem to react to an 'overrated' comment as if you're saying a drama they like is worse than dog shit. I enjoyed this, nice performances, good chemistry. However, it was very predictable, and I like my politics with more subtelty and cleverness. This was a bit too "I'm power hungry and I'm goimg to do bad stuff for power, power, power, and I'm also goimg to tell everyone about it." I like smart, morally grey villians. This was very basic, politically, but it was a nice romance, and I think people who are rating it super high are people who don't really enjoy political historical dramas. I'm
I've only seen William in one other drama, which I did not like, and I did not like his acting. Was surprised to find him so animated and charismatic in this. And he is by no means ugly, but my god what an incredible smile he has. Lights up his whole face.
all the lesbian sex scenes in this movie were produced by a lesbian woman. this movie is literally about 2 women…
You said that the sex scenes were too long. So again I ask you, at what point are you deciding that sex scenes are apparently short enough to please women, and then become long enough to just please men? Given that you are apparently deciding what is for the fenale gaze and what is not, I'd love you to to explain my own gaze to me, because apparently women are now so useless that we need other women to explain to us what we find sexyally appealimg in cinema.
