I like park ha na (jo sa ra) acting in this drama. He expressions were flawless for those situation. Bad gang…
I love that writers' trick. Yeah there are evil people out there but most people who hurt us or seem like enemies are just people with their own agenda that's important to them.
how did se ra's mother become friends with dan dan's aunt and young guk's step mother? Is se ra's mother poor?…
se ra's mother and young guk's step mother grew up together and were childhood friends. They lost touch when young guk's stepmother left their neighbourhood in middle school because her family had some debt collector chasing them.
dan dan's aunt let se ra and her mother live in her apartment next door because they are long time friends but they haven't said how they became friends. I'm not sure how they became friends because se ra's mother is poor. My speculation is that se ra's mother use to work for dan dan's aunt but I doubt it because who let's the help stay in their place? But the main point is that se ra's mother just knows rich people who value her friendship (I think this is wack as hell too).
young guk's stepmother is nouveau rich and used to be poor until she met with young guk's father. the other rich ladies don't like her because they think she has no class. so she is trying to improve her standing by marrying her daughter off well so that she could be respected for having good connections. she dislikes dan dan's brother because he's poor and can't do anything for her reputation.
I hope you got your answers and you can ask more if you need clarification.
Normally with family dramas I watch on air I usually wait a few weeks then binge those episodes till it's done, But not this time. Every week I'm on edge waiting for new episodes and it's killing me.
The article makes some interesting points and I fully agree with the problematic romanticization of ASPD in female leads. This peeves me to no end as I've seen it in other shows and I fear that it may become a trend.
Things to note: The Itaewon couple had a 9 year age gap, details are fuzzy but I'm definitely certain that Park Sae Ro Yi was still in his 20s when he met Yi Seo. It's still creepy that a high school girl falls for an adult but accuracy and all that.
Disagreement: It's Okay To Not Be Okay autistic representation. I think they did a great job with this, especially when it comes to the relationship between the brothers. Gang Tae was never really given the proper tools to care for his brother but was instead brainwashed into assuming that responsibility. The fact is some people struggle with caring for relatives and resentment breeds and I think the show did a great job of highlighting this. I also thought that Oh Jung Se's acting was superb. Yes autism is a spectrum but they just showcased a small point on it. I thought that was the best part of the show.
The more I watch this show, the madder I get at Record of Youth. Imagine if they were both running at the same time ROY would have tanked worse than it had.
Why oh why did the writers put so much time and effort into the SML? There must be a behind the scenes explanation…
Are we certain that NDS is the ML? I know this sounds ridiculous but Kdrama romantic formula is usually the first Male and Female to hit the screen are the main couple and in this case it's DM and JP. I know NDS has starring power but maybe they are using that against us in this case? Idk but her first love is JP so maybe JP is really the ML?
this show is everything ROY was supposed to be despite the plot holes.
what i can't get over is how JP and DM never met when JP lived in the granny's shop. I mean really! it would have made more sense plot wise that they met as kids, JP still lies about the letters, they lost touch when he moves away and still find their way back to the DS, DM, JP love triangle
i just love this show with all the hard moments life throws at you and all the sweet moments to make it bearable. I love how it depicts ordinary people problems and ordinary struggles that can mean so much to people. The intensity you feel in that moment is different when you look back and know that you got threw it.
The editing of this drama is driving me crazy and destroying the pacing of the storyline. I understand when you use this technique you're essentially taking 1 step back to go 2 steps forward but the overdid it.
It's like taking 4 steps back to go 1 step forward and essentially waiting almost 30 minutes in a new episode to reach the point where the last episode left off to continue the story is very frustrating. You wasting my time
episode 9 was a perfect transition episode for characters involved. PBG character development will prove challenging to family who'll have regrets, friends who'll harbor jealousy, different relationships with different people. And i love the real life parallels
It make the writing seem real

I can't do this till March 2022....
Tonight I want to burn the network down.
After last week's epic fight how could they. The betrayal I feel from this final episode is unimaginable.
I was really enjoying the realistic settings of both characters and really showcased the flawed human in a relationship.
But that ending........ threw everything out for a fairytale love story.

it's torture waiting week after week and those cliff hangers are just mean. How you gonna end episode 4 like that?
