Have there been any news? New confirmations or reports? I wonder what’ll happen to the drama 🫢
Only word on this so far is that since the news report was released is:

- Jo Jin Woong admitted to his criminal behavior as a minor but refuted the allegation that he was involved in any actions related to sexual assault
- Jo Jin Woong announced his retirement from the entertainment industry
- Signal S2 could possibly face cancellation according to news reports but that hasn't been confirmed by anyone at tvN or the production company

Studio Dragon had it listed as 2026, although i feel like it's pretty unlikely it'd release this year given Netflix's release cycle for the dramas they take on. But if it is going to come out this year as they say, i'd imagine it would have to be right around the end of the year this year

Title Love Cloud
Song Joong Ki reportedly positively considered an offer for the male lead.

He will play Kang U Ju, a former flight instructor who now works as an air traffic controller. The female lead who hasn't been reported yet will play An Ha Ni, a trainee pilot.

Director Song Min Yeop , who directed KBS2's "Youth of May" and "Doctor Prisoner" as well as the drama "Hi Cookie," is in charge of directing, and rookie writer is penning the script

The female lead has been offered to actresses who are active in both dramas and films. Casting for leading and supporting roles is in full swing ahead of filming next year

Scheduled to be released January 16th, 2026. Article says after coordinating the right timing, it was decided…
Also Netflix has released a new synopsis on their page for the drama :D

“The emotions of a celebrity and her interpreter get lost in translation as they travel the world filming a TV show. Will love find its own language?”

The fact that a major theme in Signal is that the passing of time doesn't erase one's crimes... Sigh.....
Yup, pretty ironic
On The Second Signal Dec 5, 2025
This might face a major delay or cancellation because of Jo Jin Woong and allegations made against him of being a juvenile offender. He was reportedly tried for theft and rape under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (Special Punishment Act) during his second year of high school.

Dispatch reported that Jo Jin Woong was a so-called bully in his teens and that he had been sent to a juvenile detention center after being receiving juvenile protective disposition for committing felonies while in his second year of high school. According to the report he committed various crimes, including car theft (was said to have stolen at least 3 cars) and driving without a license, in a group during his high school years. Also reported that he has a criminal record, having been sent to a juvenile detention center after being tried for theft and rape (sexually assaulted a woman inside a car he had stolen) under the Special Act on the Punishment of Specific Crimes during his second year of high school. In addition, as an adult, he was fined for assaulting one of his fellow theater troupe members and was also accused of drunk driving and ended up having his license revoked.

Since then, Jo Jin Woong has been acting under his father's name, Jo Jin Woong, instead of his real name, Jo Won Jun. Informants who provided this information on this also claimed that Jo Jin Woong was using his father's name rather than his real name to conceal his criminal past.

His agency has stated that they are currently confirming the facts but regardless big yikes...
