I just looked up…Release: Expected in the second half of 2026 on Disney+. 😔
Yup unfortunately, right now it's scheduled to be behind A Shop for Killers Season 2 and The Remarried Empress which are also coming out in the second half of 2026 so will probably be coming out after September or even later
Another synopsis from Netflix:The story follows an unexpected blossoming relationship between a multilingual translator…
Netflix's description of the poster:
The newly released poster captures Ho Jin and Mu Hui standing back-to-back, their earphones hinting at their connection. The softly blurred word “love,” scribbled in multiple languages across the image, alludes to a romance shaped by moments lost in translation and the delicate art of understanding one another.
The story follows an unexpected blossoming relationship between a multilingual translator and a global celebrity. As they travel the world filming a TV show together, their relationship grows, but, as can happen when two people become more entangled (even if they speak a common language), their feelings towards each other can become more difficult to understand.
Ju Ho Jin is a multilingual translator fluent in English, Japanese, Italian, and more, and Cha Mu Hui is an actress who became a global star through her role as a zombie. Kurosawa Hiro is a Japanese actor who joins Mu Hui on a dating TV show.
An industry insider predicted that if tvN files a lawsuit for liquidated damages against Jo Jin Woong and his agency for breach of contract, the amount could be up to 10 billion won. It's been reported that CJ ENM, the investor and distributor, held an emergency meeting on December 8th to discuss any legal action, including seeking a penalty for breach of contract, against him
Jo Jin Woong's screen time is reportedly overwhelmingly large. Editing him out would inevitably damage the film, necessitating reshoots leading to complications given Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and other characters schedules. The production company and tvN are currently in a difficult situation, however they are considering various options, such as keeping it shelved and reshooting
Have there been any news? New confirmations or reports? I wonder what’ll happen to the drama 🫢
Only word on this so far is that since the news report was released is:
- Jo Jin Woong admitted to his criminal behavior as a minor but refuted the allegation that he was involved in any actions related to sexual assault - Jo Jin Woong announced his retirement from the entertainment industry - Signal S2 could possibly face cancellation according to news reports but that hasn't been confirmed by anyone at tvN or the production company
Studio Dragon had it listed as 2026, although i feel like it's pretty unlikely it'd release this year given Netflix's release cycle for the dramas they take on. But if it is going to come out this year as they say, i'd imagine it would have to be right around the end of the year this year
Song Joong Ki reportedly positively considered an offer for the male lead.
He will play Kang U Ju, a former flight instructor who now works as an air traffic controller. The female lead who hasn't been reported yet will play An Ha Ni, a trainee pilot.
Director Song Min Yeop , who directed KBS2's "Youth of May" and "Doctor Prisoner" as well as the drama "Hi Cookie," is in charge of directing, and rookie writer is penning the script
The female lead has been offered to actresses who are active in both dramas and films. Casting for leading and supporting roles is in full swing ahead of filming next year
Production: Mid-January 26 - March 26
