Ha! I looked at your profile and saw that we have quite a few items in common in the favorite section. One day I'll make it more automatic ;) I'm also watching Faith for LMH, but I'm kind of not liking that they didn't change his hair for this. I guess he needs to preserve his model star look even though all other actors have hair more appropriate for the time. Hope you enjoy MSOAN once the annoying beginning episodes are over. Actually I seldom enjoy the beginning of the dramas, mainly because of the female leads :) BTW, I noticed you liked Love Rain. Just curious, why?

Oh, I see. I think I would prefer shorter dramas. That's why I think I can not get myself to watch historical dramas since they tend to be long. Thanks for the recommendation.

I see what you're saying. I think I'm used to Korean and Chinese now, and sometimes I can even tell really good acting from average acting. But I think I still can not tell bad acting from average acting. For example, I recently watched Love Rain. I saw many comments that the main actress did a very bad job, and I was not quite sure why. Same goes for Lee Min Ho. I usually like his dramas, but to me he appears the same in any drama he does. Shouldn't he, as a good actor, be able to portray different characters differently? But anyway, I'm assuming you're watching Faith now. How is it going?

Ok, great, thanks. After Bad Guy I'll try a jdrama. It looks like jdramas are much shorter than kdramas, so it should be at least not too long :) BTW, Bad Guy has this actor, Kim Jae Wook, he is pretty good I think. I've seen him in several dramas now and I thought he was great in Antique Bakery. Wonder when he'll get a main role somewhere. Or has he already?

Ok, I'll give it a try. I checked Kimura Takuya and it looks like Mr. Brain has one of the highest ratings on this site among recent dramas. What do you think?

I see, I also though a little that people get tired of the dramas since many have the same formula. I guess the formula works, so they keep producing that. I didn't follow the whole industry before, but my impression is that it's the last 10 years (with internet and other technology) that it's more spread around the world. So it's still new. Have you tried watching non Asian dramas?
For me personally, I'm at the point where I think there is still some stuff to see, but I already see the repetitivness. But then since the actors are different, I sometimes just watch the acting. Also clothing and filming.

About Mary Stayed Out All Night, it has some great moments. But also, I read that there was a problem with the plot so it kind of helplessly wonders around by the end. The last episode is great though. I can see what you mean about the main female lead. Actually, many people really like her, but not me. So, I just concentrated on the 2 male leads. Also, a lot of times in a partnership when 1 person is good looking and the other one is not, people tend to like the not so good looking one since the good looking one some how chose the other ;)

I do the same thing most of the time, I follow the actor I like in other dramas. Then I'd pick a something with higher ratings. High ratings do not necessarily mean the drama is good because I understand that I should really look at the ratings of people like me. But since it's hard to find a lot of people like me, so I pay attention to the overall ratings. It would be great to have some kind of recommendation thing that would pick a drama so exactly according to my criteria :) I think there are so many dramas that it's impossible to watch all in a lifetime, so some smart choice system would be great :) In genres, I'm not a big fan of historical and pure comedy.
I'm also currently watching Faith and hate that I have to wait a whole week for the next episode. That's why I prefer to watch something already aired. How do you like it so far?

Hello! Thanks for accepting my friend request:) I'm intrigued about your saying that you have an eye for good acting. I'm wondering if you watch a drama with subtitles, how do you actually catch that the acting is good or bad? For example, when I first saw a Korean drama, the intonation sounded really strange to me, so I could mistake it for bad acting. Then there are all these white actors in Asian dramas that act really bad and I can tell since I speak English and understand how it should sound. But I have no idea how it sounds to Asians (good or bad) and how the Asian actors sound to people who really understand the language.

Hi! I'm new to this site, so I'm trying to find people who have similar taste. Looks like we have a lot in common in the Favorite section :) What are you watching now and how do you choose what to watch next? And yes, nice to meet you :)

That's fine about LMH :) I'm not a crazy fan.
I've never watched jdramas. I tried once but the male actors looked way too feminine to me. I'm already reaching my limits on that in kdramas, but there, it was just too much. Maybe I'll graduate to that at some point since so many people prefer jdramas over kdramas. I like some Japanese movies though. Why do you like jdramas?

Ha! LMH is a piece of art as far as his physical qualities go :) I guess that's why I keep staring even though it's the same all the time. Wonder how he'll do after like 10 years, after army and all. I don't mind a good romcom. If it's done well it can be good. Like Personal Preference is the best one to me (oh, wait, was I staring at LMH all the time I watched? ;) Actually, before Personal Preference I pretty much wanted to stop watching kdramas, but then that was the first time I saw the main actors and so I wanted to see what else they've done.
So what is manga feel? I never got into manga or into jdramas, so not sure what's that.

Yeah, everyone would be shocked to find each other here :)) Faith... I don't know. I'm a LMH's fan, so I guess I have to watch it. As I already said it somewhere, even though I like just watching him, I feel like for the last 3 dramas I see the same person. So far it was not that impressive otherwise, but there is a twist to the story that can potentially make it into a good drama. I'll wait and see. Are you watching it? Bad Guy... only 4 episodes, even though I kind of like this strong unpredictable main character image, I don't quite see the point of all these dramatic actions. I guess, I also have to wait and see.
I have some work to do before I recognize the dramas you watch :) My username, Compay, is from Compay Segundo who is one of my favorite singers. Do you have a story behind yours?

It would be funny if my ex coworkers are here as well. I haven't heard about this site until recently, when was it started and by whom? Do you know?
Right now I'm watching Faith every week, even though I'm not a big fan of waiting for a week to get the next episode. I kind of forget what happened before. Otherwise, I'm watching Bad Guy (the drama) and whatever new Asian movies I can catch on the plane. What about you?

I'm from the US too, but currently live in Asia, so I have to find other methods to watch the current stuff.
Just finished watching episode 12 and have to revise what I previously said about this drama. It is getting better, she is not as annoying and there is some progress in the relationship of both main characters and the king/queen. LMH's acting is still not different from other things he's done after BOF. I feel like I'm watching the same person for the 3rd drama in a row. Also, the makeup and hair in this drama are way too modern. LMH is an actor, so do something with his hair please so that he looks like other people they are trying to show there. The makeup/nomakeup current trend is too obvious on the females.
I was thinking to give this one a 10, but then decided to not be swayed by the over the top premise of the movie. Other than that, the love story itself is extremely touching and the actors are not only nice to look at, but also have great skill. The first half of the movie is simply great, but then there are all these non realistic turns and the whole story ends up pretty crazy, but I guess it's necessary to make people react strongly.
I think I'll watch in cinema since I think it will be on cinema later. Is this worth it ? Many people think the…
The ending is realistic. So, if you don't mind a non cookie cutter ending with a pretty much traditional plot, then it should be ok.

I do too. But I think on hulu it comes from dramafever, and on dramafever it's free. Of course there are other things on hulu, like US shows. The only bad thing is that it's all great if you're in the US, all these sites block other countries.

I kind of follow the same algorithm about following the actors that I like. But I prefer not to watch just released dramas right away. I just can not wait for another week to see the next episode. It just dilutes the impression plus it mixes with other dramas. So I usually wait till it's over and watch it all at once. BTW, how do you watch the current dramas? On TV? Internet? Which site if it's on the net.
