Hi elfamira90, that's not a problem. We all are busy with stuff other than dramas :)
How do you like I love Lee Tae Ri? This is the first time I hear someone mentioning it to me, so I don't have any idea about this one. What do you think?

I also pretty much don't watch TV anymore. I really can not stand bending to their schedule. So I prefer stuff on internet or dramas. I also watch some non Asian dramas, mostly US.
I noticed that you dropped You're Beautiful. I wonder why. I saw your positive review of Mary stayed out all night and you liked the OST there. You're Beautiful OST was quite comparable in quality (not in genre), did you not like it?

I see. I prefer dramas, but I wish they were a little shorter, like 10 episode. After watching dramas it looks like they don't have quite enough character development in movies.

Ok, maybe it's hard to tell the order while adding in bulk, but do you think you can remember between 2 dramas, which one you saw first? I think I can still do it for dramas, but I definitely can not do it for movies.
Another thing about Bad Guy, while I watch it, I don't feel annoyed about characters doing stupid things. Looks like they all have agenda and they follow it. So the problems are not from some stupid silence in the critical moment, but because of calculation.
So, that means you're not watching anything right now?

Let me revise this. JGS does play arrogant but talented type in MSOAN, but unlike other dramas in this one he is not very successful. So all the arrogance comes from the fact that only very few people like him. In other dramas he is a star. So let's call that "non famous arrogant but talented" :)
I watched Meteor Garden. It was my first Asian drama and I thought it was great. I watched it many years after release and I didn't know what kind of fashion was in Asia, so fashion didn't bother me. Of course, now you'll need to discount the old fashion in the drama since you watched BOF. But otherwise, I think the main leads are much better there (maybe except the playboy one). Barbie Hsu is perfect for the role. She looks poor and smart (unlike poor and stupid in BOF). Are you thinking of picking it up? Let me know how it goes.

I was thinking to give this one a 10, but then decided to not be swayed by the over the top premise of the movie.…
That's true about acting. I really enjoyed it. Of course, Son Ye Jin was in her game. It also made me look again at Jung Woo Sung since I almost dropped Athena. Maybe I return to it sometime.

Yeah, I was going to suggest that, will do that. Though, for many people it would probably be hard to tell the order in which they watched dramas.
To me, all lead actors were worse in BOF than in Meteor Garden, so it was all spoiled for me to start with. Also, Meteor Garden was my first Asian drama, so LMH didn't have a chance there :)
Bad Guy is still going. It actually reminds me of Sorry I Love You. I like the way the female's are dressed there. Acting is great. I'm really enjoying the fact that so far the main girl doesn't go for the main guy but follows her plan of getting higher in social status. I see you're watching an 80 episode drama right now. How is that going?

See, it's all about the reference point. How did you get there to watch a drama. For me, this was the first time I saw LMH, Son Ye Jin and the dad actor. I thought the dad was perfect for the role, almost like Al Pacino. I saw him later in BOF and could not shake off the first role I saw him in. I thought the chemistry was great too, in fact I don't see LMH click like that with anyone else. Then I saw Son Ye Jin in other things and could not believe how much she actually changed for that role. For you on the other hand, you saw other things before, so all was wrong. But that's fine, we can disagree on that one :) It would be great to also keep track of the order the dramas were watched here.

I do rewatch some of my favorite dramas. I guess I just need to downgrade the dramas I don't want to rewatch :) But again, it's hard to let go of previous rating. Example: Personal Taste or Summer's Desire I rewatched. Also, when I rewatch, I sometimes skip the side plots, so it's much faster and better. But it's true, the probability to rewatch the dramas with high rating is higher and because of selection I still enjoy them. Do you ever rewatch dramas that you thought were bad?

Actually, I have hard time giving bad ratings to dramas. If I look at all factors then it's hard to say that the drama was bad all the way. There probably was good acting or good script or good something, or maybe I watched it all at once. BTW, I do consider it a good drama if I finish it quickly. Even if I can not pinpoint why, there was something I can not identify yet. But so far I have been trying to watch things with good ratings, so I guess I need to add some badness to it :) I do give bad ratings to some dramas when some factors really annoy me. And then, once it's bad rating, I would never return to it. It's something to do with endowment effect: I said it's bad so it's hard to let go.

I like Son Ye Jin as well. Personal Taste was my first drama with her and after that I had to watch other stuff. I'm just amazed how she changed for that drama. Koo Hye Sun, I don't like her or how she acted the character in BOF. But this is partially because I like Barbie Hsu, so the comparison was not in favor of Koo Hye Sun.
Love Rain had a feel of something classic, so if it were a movie, I'd probably like it more. But it was way too long and there was not that much action. Many problems were just too contrived. I would like Jang Geun Suk there if it were the first thing I watched. I guess the consensus is that he is good at playing arrogant people who have talent. MSOAN was a bit different and I prefer that. BTW, have you finished it?

So I wonder if after you learn the language, do you gradually enjoy the dramas more or less? For example, I find that I practically can not watch most dramas in English because I can catch unnatural intonations. For you, since you know speak Japanese, do you like Japanese dramas more than the others?

Hi Bladey. You seem to be very knowledgeable about the dramas, so it's interesting to ask you questions. I generally like when people take their hobbies "seriously". And you seem to think a lot about the dramas, so it's great talking to you. Apart from that, for me personally, I like to think about why people like or dislike certain things when those things are a combination of factors. So, I like watching dramas and those dramas are combinations of many factors (genre, actors, writers, directors, etc..). When I say I like a drama, I want to know why. You might tell me you don't like the same drama, but you generally like some elements of that. Things like that :) Also, since you watched many dramas, are you becoming more critical? Are you more likely to dislike current dramas because you've seen so many before?

I guess I'll have to sharpen my eye :) So you speak all these Asian languages, this is really cool. Do you usually watch the dramas with subs?

You know, before watching kdramas I didn't know much about the Korean history other than there is South and North. Now, even after very few historical and other type of dramas I started seeing some of it. I'm still confused what's real and what's not, it looks complicated to even find the facts straight because the romanisation of the Korean names is different. Do you usually look up if the facts are real? Does it affect your enjoyment of a drama?
