I love BLs that will make me paused a scene because it was too absurd or frustrating, the character is insane that I needed a socmed break every episode or watched the actor’s clips (or edits) of them being goofy, funny, wholesome to remind me that they are just acting, it’s just a character, that it is a great drama, so continue watching it.
I want to point out something, just a little theory of mine, not really important, ig? but I still love to share…
As a fan of the kpop group, EXO, I noticed their group photo outside the bar, of course as a fangirl, I took a screenshot of it, then proceed to watch. After I finished watching the drama, I scanned my gallery and noticed the SS I took. I was laughing about it cuz of how random it was, then a thought suddenly came to me—that photo was from EXO’s Obsession era and that was in 2019 but the filming date of To My Shore was in 2025, so random, indeed. My point was, what if it was placed there ON PURPOSE, as it relates with Fan Xiao’s character, “Obsession” and when you play the song, the first lyrics you will hear is “I want you, I want you, want you” and it keeps repeating in the background, and the whole song, when you translate it to english (if you dont understand korean or the meaning), one of its meaning is about battling with your alter ego, an internal struggle that keep lurking in your head, fighting to escape with your inner demon, and when you read deeper about the song’s theory, you will know how awful and dark it is.
If too lazy to read and find the theory, by simply reading the english translation of the song, you can understand the point of the whole song, and thus reminds me of Fan Xiao, his issue with kindness, and how his and YSL’s story goes, it all made sense to me, mind-blown, I say.
I realized this hours after I finished watching TMS, and I shared it here cuz I believed they (production team) put that Obsession poster image on purpose to relate with Fan Xiao and (a hint for viewers) as a foreshadow for the later episodes, esp their love story! Well, this is my personal theory, so I am not entirely right, may be a coincidence—but this was too perfect for a coincidence, but I will believe that the Obsession Image Photo cuz it made sense HAHAHAHA

And I love YSL’s character so much, he is so strong, mentally, and physically! he is also a smart person, and I love him for that. He knows his worth and won’t settle for less. I was truly happy when FX suffered a lot—half of the episodes, I think? cuz he deserved it. Not until I got anxious when the drama is ending but there is still no reconciliation of them, there were parts where I wanted YSL to forgive FX cuz I wanted to see YSL smile and be happy again, cuz as much as he deny it, when FX entered his life, it brought him joy but sadly it is with sorrow. FX’s character development came too slow and late, but I actually got proud of him for trying to change himself. Also, I got actually anxious for EP15, aside from the fact that it is the last ep, I got so worried that they might not give me a happy ending where they finally reconciled cuz few mins left, but there was still no sign of them being back together, but when that scene where YSL went to a store, bought an alcohol drink and a c0ndom, made me feel at ease cuz the long wait is over, they will finally be back together—and there I saw YSL smiling again. And the “my other half, my partner” and “my love” in the end? made me actually cry, cuz I feel like I have been with them, and now they are finally back!
BUT actually, I wanted an ending where You Shulang and Fan Xiao are dating again, cooking and eating together, sleeping beside each other, happy and contented, walking on the shore while holding hands, just them being a couple (or married) again and this time, with Tian Tian 🥹 LOVE THEM SO MUCH, their chemistry is insane! THIS IS A MUST-WATCH BL DRAMA—a very very very very red flag psycho mad man and a super duper green flag kind-hearted man who just wants to live a beautiful and ordinary life, not until a person who dont believe in kindness appeared in his life and ruins everything.
A 9/10 FOR ME! the lacking 1 is for my imagination ending, lols!

First few minutes of EP1 made me shocked, boiled my temper, wanna punch, slap, and choke someone on screen—obviously, it is Fan Xiao. That was my entire reaction during the first scene when You Shulang accidentally hit Fan Xiao’s car—specifically, after YSL left. He literally throw the jacket HE PUT ON YSL’s SHOULDERS as he was disgusted??? AND called his assistant to “punished” YSL bec he wasted his time? DAMN. I WAS SO ANGRY AND LITERALLY PAUSED IT FIRST TO SCREAM AND PUNCH THE AIR—and I did it every episode, just what kind of a psycho Fan Xiao is? and his reason for every bad schemes he did to YSL made me 👁️👄👁️. He’s so annoying every episode (good thing the actor is handsome, it helps me calm and “enjoy” the drama) and I feel bad for YSL so much that I wanted to hug him, he doesn’t deserved it. He is too kind to experienced all of those :((
OMYGAD! I just started watching this and I finished it today—idk why I did not like the first ep the first time I watched it last year thus I did not continue watching, but suddenly yesterday, I wanted to watch it and give it a chance—i LOVE the first ep, idfk why the hell it was different now (LOLS)
Anyway, I was so used watching “bl” (bromance, any double male lead) from china (didnt know this was produced in SG) that IT ALWAYS doesnt have kissing scenes, so I was def shocked when they did (AND COUNTLESS TIMES!) I keep saying “WAIT WHAT? this is not right??? I thought this is just bromance? OMG???? is china finally changing?” (LOLS) I DEF LOVE THE ACTORS PLAYING DZA & XSH, their chemistry is insane yall??!!?!?! I only saw their live clips in any sns where they are so funny and such HAHA!
Anyway again, their love story is just like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and downs, makes you dizzy, anxious, yet makes you happy and excited—that’s what Duan Ziang & Xiao Shuhe probably felt.
Talking about the episodes, (1) until the end, I did not believe the person who came out as Huayi is the real Huayi, the timing is just too suspicious, his entire identity actually–since that ep when Shuhe found out the reason how the Abbot locate Huayi. I actually thought in later eps (esp the scenes where Shuhe got locked up in Ji North Kingdom) Shuhe will expose his identity, but it never happened, so it seems like the writers gave it to us like a task about his real identity. (2) Huo Ying, since the scene Shu Qian said (or was it Huo Ying) that HY was an orphan and it was SQ who took him and became his shadow guard as he possess martial arts, I thought he was Hua Yi—the missing brother of DZA, so I waited for his identity’s revelation but SQ died, I rly think he’s the only one who knows HYing true identity. Also, I annoyingly hate how HY is so loyal to SQ, I’ve seen a lot of characters like him, and they always dont end well, that’s why I was scared for him—but Shen Song was always there to treat every wound and every pain he’ll got from SQ huhuhu love them both, but HYing was too loyal to SQ :(
(3) Let me talk about the title, “Kill To Love” — my first assumption was “(he) will kill someone precious of the other as a result in loving you”, this changed when I am in ep5, I was like “WAIT, it actually ‘(from) the thought of KILLing you becomes (to) LOVING you’” as they are spending their day with each other, “pretending” to liking, reminiscing the old friendship, saving and helping each other, the hatred developed to love. I might have different interpretation as others, but I was rly enjoying interpreting the title every episode as their story goes farther and deeper.
(4) I wanted this drama so much to have a Season 2 but this time in a modern era, both died in the end and met in afterlife, their fate bind to each other, so I wanted to see them and how their story will go during the modern era, I love to see them reincarnated.
Moreover, some scenes reminds me of The Untamed (yes, I will never move on from TU, esp that every historical bls I have watched keep reminding me of my The Untamed, esp my WangXian), esp when XSH said to DZA “I have a villa in the suburbs, you can hide there for a few days”, brings me back to the scene from TU where LWJ said “I want to bring a man to Cloud Recesses, bring him back and hide him there” and there are moooore of it!
i actually need this drama to have a longer episode! with almost an hour or an hour duration every episode 😩 the potential of this getting big is evident!
i definitely love this! their chemistry was on point—IT WAS OVERFLOWING. one of the best vertical dramas i have ever watched, i swear! the acting, the story, their roles, the plot twists, the visuals, everything! A CHEF’S KISS! didnt know shen haonan can act in a bromance drama, i hope he accept more double male lead projects in the future!

suddenly, his vertical drama ‘Your Playboy Charade, My Blind Pretense’ appeared on my yt and i find it interesting, so i watched it plus he looks familiar—after i finished it, i searched his name and found out he was in Spirealm…he was my crush there, the crush who never entered any door 😭 OMG! i so love him, plus his fits in YPC, MBP look so good in him 🥹
