Title SKY Castle Spoiler
There is a reference about the ending of this drama, so it is up to you if you want to read it.
I really enjoyed this drama and it has been one of the best I have watched since a very long time. Very intriguing, with many twists and dramatic sequences. All characters were fabulous and extremely credible although all the topics treated as many others have pointed out, were a bit exaggerated (but I guess that is part of the satirical sense with which has been presented). My only reason for not giving a 10 to this drama is because all this issues has been narrated unilaterally, from the perspective of the rich people and elitist part of the society. I completely agree with Rheabiel, SKY Castle forgets about the poor, and how all these issues have a different perspective and others things to consider. First, if your family barely make money for basic expenses, providing private tutors or expensive academies is out of the picture. Perhaps you are lucky to have parents that really believe you can achieve something else in life of what they did and, they are willing to sacrifice themselves to work extra hours to afford private education. But if that was the case, I think they will be just right in demand a bit of hard work from their children. It is true that are certain limits and ways of aiming this and, it should never be allowed that education turns into abuse or psychological torture. And again, when you are poor and your parents want you to get into college because they could not go, perhaps is not only just to fulfil their own dreams but, because they have been through life and are aware of how hard are things when your lack of education restrict considerably the list of jobs you can apply for and lead you to bad paid positions with very little hope to be promoted (because there is a long queue of graduated kids with parents who are lawyers, doctors, teachers... to back them up). Second, this drama has a happy ending since the parents in the drama all have titles and always can easily find a new job if they decide to leave their current position. So there is not concern about their children well-being because they still can provide them with food, a new house or long trips around the world. I always say, "when they are depressed, rich people can be cured with psychotherapists, resigning their jobs, going on holidays, shopping impulsively expensive goodies or getting a feast in a luxurious trendy restaurant. But poor people simply cannot afford to be depressed: because they do not have money to pay a psychotherapist and the free public healthcare just sucks, they have very little money to go on holiday and if they expend their cash in luxuries, how the hell are going to pay the rent at the end of the month? Not to mention to leave a job without any guarantee that they will be able to find another soon while the bills continue piling up" Yeah, definitely, this drama only makes a portrait of the elite misery when they get obsessed with success and fail to show off their greatness. I also empathise with the comment that skipping classes and quitting school to go travelling is a bad message for young people that might them think the world would wait for them to be ready and they can waste as much time as they wish because still young. Believe me, that is not real, you might take a break if things are too tough, but never miss the point... the youth is not forever and when you realise this, you are already in your thirties and the clock to secure you a future starts to tick in a countdown.
Finally, I would like to mention something positive about the drama, and that is an absolute truth: bad ways and bad actions, never give good results, regardless if you are rich or poor. Education is something good if you are getting it without pressure and with total will of doing so for your own sake and for nobody else.
One last note: private classes or tutors worth nothing if the kid does not want to study. And of course, not everyone is meant to be a college student, so always is better to accept what your kids want to be, instead of going against them because does not fit into your plans for their future. But please, do not confuse not going to college with being sat at home living from your parents doing nothing for yourself. With or without a degree, everyone needs a dream to achieve something in life, and that goal is their happiness, being grateful for what they have and who they are.

I dont find it sillly and after watching 200+ kdramas is just my opinion.....also, the second lead (meaning Hoya)…
I must admit that I am enjoying more this drama now after a bad impression in the first episode.

I personally prefer Choi Jin Hyuk in Tunnel, not doubt about that. But perhaps things go better in further episodes. I am still believe Hoya has a crush on Song Ha Yoon, he even said himself she was his first love, that's why he is so obsessed to make her famous again.

I saw the first episode and could not believe how many cliche and unrealistic scenes frequently used in romantic Korean dramas to create some sort of fated relationship between the leads, were thrown all together in such a short encounter. It was so ridiculous that I seriously thought it was some sort of joke. Then I watched the second episode that improved a little bit because it seemed more interesting the fact that he lost his memory and try to remember what happened to him 3 years ago (despite of being another overused cliche). But again, it is so repetitive the love story between 2 persons so different, with a common past and a present love-hate relationship where one is mistreating the other. Then the second lead trying to help the poor girl because is in love with her, but it does not matter, because we know she would prefer the hateful guy who is making her suffer for some stupid misunderstanding. Overall, I don't expend much from this drama, the only reason worth of watching further episodes is because the main actor/actress, that are good, A shame that the plot is so silly and does not make justice to the acting.

I agree in that of lacking originality and too many cliches with no deep characters. However, this drama has a really good thing, it is simple, light and with some good sense of humour. Sometimes, you don't need a complex and unpredictable drama, but one that would makes you laugh, because it is funny or just because it is so ridiculous in its situations to the point of stupidity. The key attitude when sitting on your sofa ready to start watching it is do no expect big things from it, but enjoy entertaining yourself with a plot that would not drain your mind with too much thinking.

It seems that many people has gone mad about the ending in this drama. I personally believe this is very well made drama and I did not give it a 10 because as someone pointed out, it could have had a more closing end showing exactly the outcome, without missing that climax of a dramatic heartbroken finale. I really cannot understand why some viewers think every drama should end with a sense of having done the right thing and having made justice for everyone. For those who tag this drama as unrealistic or unbelievable, let me tell you this about real life "JUSTICE IS NOT HAPPENING ALWAYS, NOT EVERYONE DO WHAT THEY SHOULD AND THE RIGHT OR WRONG IN LIFE IS A QUESTION OF PERSPECTIVE, ACCORDING FROM WHAT POINT OF VIEW YOU CONSIDER TRUTH OR JUSTICE" . It has a brilliant plot and acting. And about Myung Woo sacrifice, I must say that in my opinion, his character represent the hope that everybody would wish to have in love. Those with a romantic side would probably dream of finding someone like him, ready to give up his life for the woman he loves. Of course that is what unfortunately does not happen frequently in real life. Yes, there are many men prompt to do crazy or bad things in the name of love, but sadly very little that would think first in their lover than themselves. However, even more sad are those who critic this drama based in the lack of believing that real and selfless love could exist.

He is a very good actor and he deserves to find love as the characters he portrayed in dramas. It must be hard to keep it in secret for so long. Fans cannot understand probably how demanding is that career when you become famous. My best wishes for the three of them.

(it is very difficult to decide, but certainly the good looks for me is not just if they have a pretty face but how attractive they are on the screen, that is seducing with their personality)

He is a really good actor. Regretfully good actors work very hard and sometimes they do not have time to look after themselves properly. So please Kim Woo Bin, leave everything and dedicate to regain your health. Life is the more precious thing to take care, we have to be alive to enjoy the beautiful things around us. My best wishes for you.

Sorry I cannot agree with your criticism. To be honest, more than watching a drama to find its flaws or inconsistencies I value a drama that can move me, keep me hooked to the very end without giving up half way and, leave me with a good feeling of being satisfied with the result. From that perspective, I love this drama. If I do not give it a 10 is because I expect they will make a second part to continue the history.
Kaye Nov 1, 2016
I think this article made a very good points that describe Asian dramas quite well. It's true that all these fictional stories they are exaggerated. So consequently, they can mislead us to having too high expectations when coming to compare them with our personal experiences. In the same way, being single and witnessing repetitive happy endings and as Kaye said, forgiving beyond limits scenarios that probably in real life could be of big concern, it can make you really miserable. Why can you find those "perfect guys" or idealistic love? Why when you have problems, there is no such as an stranger getting involved in your business out of curiosity and ending falling in love with you? Yeah, it can be dangerous living regularly in dramaland and expect your life to be something similar.
However, no because you can become a bit delusional it means that you should stop watching dramas. From my point of view, watching on screen what we would like our life to be (a flawless romance with happy ending full of excitement and hope), can have a positive impact in our lives. Make to yourself this question: why we should content with a life covered of ugliness and hardships? There is already a huge amount of unfortunate events and unfairness in the everyday life of people, why we should recreate ourselves watching the bad things the real world has? It won't be better to expect things to be more alike to what happen in dramas? It won't be this world a bit better sometimes, if guys and girls would wish to follow fictional characters of romantic Korean dramas, for example? I think is truly inspiring seeing teenagers being innocent and struggling to confess their pure love and blushing for a kiss in the cheeks, instead of dealing with shameless teenagers nowadays, trying to have sex with underage girls without thinking in the consequences of their actions. Perhaps the youth could recuperate something of their sense, of what it means to be innocent and pure, trusting friends and believing in justice and honour. There are many values, young people forgot and that's why there are many kids out there with issues about their personalities, their confidence and so on. A scary number of victims of a society that marginalises and lead teenagers to depression.
In conclusion, let's dream a bit longer and step by step, trying to make this reality more alike to dramas, instead of just accepting the idea that romance of that kind only exist on the screen.

I love the fact that they started this drama in Spain! So delighted to hear Spanish language in a Korean drama. I hope in the future would be more collaborations between these two countries. As a Spanish person myself, I think both cultures have some similarities and I believe with the time and after some promotion, Korean dramas would have more relevance among Spanish viewers. In the same way Latin American dramas were very popular in the past I can see a great potential for Asian dramas. The reason perhaps it hasn't hit yet is because Spanish are used to have all TV programmes and movies dubbed to Spanish. No many people in Spain speak English to understand foreign movies in its original version or read the subtitles. Usually, Asian dramas are immediately translated in English but not all in Spanish and, frequently the Spanish translation is lousy and doesn't sound natural. I will keep watching this drama that seems so special and exciting from the beginning.

I watched many other dramas of Bae Yoong Jun that haven't been mentioned here and I can tell all were brilliant. Since his first roles, he already showed a special talent for dramatic characters. I recommend "Did we really love" and the epic "Legend of the first king four gods"

A lot of comments seem to say they find it strange that the girlfriend has reported this case only now - I just…
I completely agree with you in that. I would add that a victim of a violence doesn't need to justify herself why she kept silence at the beginning. I think nobody in the same situation would had the clear mind to report him just after the first beating. Only people that have been in a similar situation before would react straight away afraid of commiting the same mistake again. Not even say that women's first reaction in these cases is normally to feel embarrassed and ashamed of themselves and after repetitive beatings to feel guilty when they don't understand the reasons why they are getting beaten for and why they keep forgiving him. (They forgive him because they are in love with this person and they hope he would change for better when he say sorry)
Aya97 Aug 31, 2014
I agree in that a man hitting a woman even just once is completely wrong. But I don't know if people realises that a guy getting physical with his girlfriend in a couple fighting is not about accusing him of being a monster and the girl an innocent victim. Both have part of the fault of allowing things going too far and both end in a tragic situation because have been dragged to an extreme where they couldn't control themselves. Of course the most important is not to point out who has the biggest part at fault to give him/her punishment, but to find out who can put at risk other person life. Then helping this person to overcome a behaviour that needs to be corrected. Saying sorry doesn't change anything. Once you cross the line to harm other human being , first you need to recognise you have a problem, second you need to receive help to change your way of thinking and acting, third you should ask for forgiveness by demonstrating you really have changed and would never dare to commit the same mistake again. However, there is not excuse to justify any kind of violence on a woman. I feel bad for his girlfriend and I hope this experience would help her to avoid similar situation in future. The more frightening thing in these incidents is not the aggressor's violence but the passiveness of the victim unable to react and protect herself.

Well I cannot say was the best drama ever but it wasn't the worst neither. I liked all the flirting between Myung Wol and Kang Woo and the side story of the older spies couple was cute. I wish Major Choi Ryu had more presence in the romance. Sometimes I hated his passivity and distance from her. It would be better if there was some point in the story where she really was persuaded by him and questioned seriously which one to choose. From my view, always was clear she would finish with Kang Woo. As for Joo In Ah, I am glad in this drama this kind of character didn't end being as hateful and annoying as secondary female roles in other dramas. I quite liked her transformation from someone obsessed with a one side love to a more mature woman that worries and care for a guy who is more conscious about her existence. Overall I enjoyed the drama but I think the story could be told in less episodes without dragging for so long the painful situation between the main couple.
Skye-N-Rain Aug 25, 2014
I liked so much his character in "Doctor Stranger". I think the bad guy role fits him quite well. I'm really looking forward to see Park Hae Jin in a main lead role where he could get full attention, so we can appreciate much better his interpretation skills.
On High School King of Savvy Aug 24, 2014
I enjoyed much of this drama at the beginning because had a good humour and was funny to see the high school student trying to convince everybody of being an adult and the secretary falling for him believing completely in his acting. The love triangle with the other director was really cool too, However, there is a point in the storyline that it seems to be the point of not return, leading to a very dissatisfied outcome of what could been a memorable romantic comedy. I found there were many loose ends in the plot and the appearance of the twin brother didn't help but worsen the drama even more. I felt that all magical moments and excitement were killed one by one until reaching the end.
