I think Sung Dong Il and Ji Chang Wook are very good actors and the chemistry between them is fantastic in this drama. I really like Ji Chang Wook from other dramas but I believe, sometimes he didn't have the chance to shine with the roles given. His character in If You Wish Upon Me is so lovable and the story so touching that it would make you fall in love with the drama.
Perhaps is not the more exciting drama out there, but with so many stories focused in the uglyness and dark side of the human being, it is very inspirational finding one that try to transmit hope and good vibes. A must to watch for young viewwers to give them a reason to be optimistic about life. I wish more dramas in this line would be produced, to lead young generations to have the right mindset in a society that unfortunately lack of inspiration and it is full of anxiety and worries.
Is it only me who think that Logan burns marks are the worst special effects of history? It's so hard to believe when you see the pieces of latex glued like patches on his face. Please fire the make up artist already and get a professional to do the job. So disappointed that a country so well known for his plastic surgery can put so poor performance on the screen.

I think this drama would appeal to young viewers because from what I have seen up to episode 3, it is mainly focused in the sexual tension between characters that take decisions more driven by their desires and instincts than a mature approach. Quite remind me to the feeling with the Twilight series that were so successful among teenagers. Song Kang, indeed, makes a good portrait of that casanova character, that attracts (intentionally or innocently) to all sort of women but cannot commit to a particular one. However, whatever he had good intentions towards Na-Bi character when he first met her, I guess she will become his Achilles tendon. Usually a guy who is self conscious of his beauty and talent to attract others, that seems immune to being heartbroken, he will eventually lose his confidence when encountering a woman that will be meaningful for him. A fresh contribution to Korean Dramas that brings an air of modernity and actuality in contrast with the typical "too naive and unrealistic romance" that we regularly see. I must say that Song Kang fits really well into its fictional character, and I think he feels comfortable in mature dramas; check out his previous work in "Navillera", I enjoyed very much his performance there.

There are many good things about this drama that will make you to love it very much, the plot, the amazing acting, the family relationships and friendships, the dreams of its characters...But for me, the best of all was its powerful message of "you can do anything you wish for if you put your mind on it". Not other drama has ever shown that message so clearly as in this one. I strongly recommend this drama if you are looking for inspiration to encourage you in achieving anything in your life. Very charming and bittersweet story, with a down to earth plot and with that piece of magic to make you believe in dreams even in the worst circumstances.

I think there are many different opinions about this drama because is very confusing. First thing that created controversy was the second leads love story. As many people pointed out, it seemed like two romantic dramas mixed together rather than a supporting story for the main plot. This was probably because the romance of the second leads was as powerful that could have made a complete separate drama on its own. Due to this other story getting too much attention, the main storyline was losing interest. it didn't make much sense a fantasy tale about doom alongside a down to earth love story where people meet again years later after having some misunderstanding and a failure relationship. And Yes, as Jay well said in her review, characters were doing nothing most of the time. As a fantasy drama it doesn't have much appeal, it could have done better as slice of life drama talking about death. The second leads plot it could have made a good romance drama. So for these reasons is difficult to score the drams as a whole, I gave it a 7 because actors did an amazing job and they deserve to be recognised despite of the bad writing and confusing development of the plot.

Subtitles are available at D-Addicts.
But is there the episode to watch with the subtitles or just a file to download with the subtitles? I am not familiar with that website. Thanks

Just finished ep 17 and everything is getting very exciting, I suspect the end will be great, so really delighted to see for once a drama that knows how to keep viewers amazed through the episodes and maintain the mystery to the very end. I rarely re-watch dramas, but I think this will be an exception. There are so many details and hints given in early episodes that now, when everything start to make sense. it is really persuading me to start watching it again from episode 1.

Can anyone tell me if there is any romantic side-plot in this drama?
I don't think so. After watching episode 8, I would say that perhaps there is some romantic interest between the young actors, but the story evolves in other direction and there is more friendship and family relationships in the side stories. I think the only evident romance exposed is that of the married old couple.

I started watching this drama because I love dancing and I even took some ballet classes when, like the grandpa in this drama I was probably too old to start. I did not have his perseverance, but I can understand very well the feeling of wanted to do something you didn't have the chance to do before, so you would not live with regrets of not even trying. This is one of the best dramas I have came across for a long time. Perhaps young people find it less appealing because the lack of romance between the younger actors and the fact that ballet scenes, although they are beautifully done and Song Kang looks amazing performing, the central focus of the storyline are Shim Deok Chul feelings when realising that his life will come to an end and he has spent most of it doing what others were expecting from him. but not what he really wanted to do. It's very moving because the story is so real, and I think that many people when they get older, they start thinking in all those things they never dared to do when they were younger. Then, many people discover, later in life, that illnesses, family, the social opinion of what is correct and what is not, become obstacles when you decide to do something that challenges what is reasonable or socially acceptable. There are many valuable lessons to learn from this drama, for both, young and old generations, and that makes of this drama a cup of tea that can suit many tastes. I hope that more Kdrama fans decide to give it a chance because undoubtedly this drama deserves a 10.

I think what most people forget is that this isn't a crime thriller, it's a psychological thriller. I do agree…
You are right, but what pissed me off was the fact that by the end of the drama the the real psycho seemed a bit forgotten and it is given more relevance to other crimes committed by people trying to correct their mistakes. As you said, it is a psychological thriller that should focus in the mental state of its characters and their distorted vision of the world. And I must say that many characters on this drama fit perfectly for this role. However, for me the most disturbed one it was Kang Jin Mook, who faked an innocent personality to deceive everybody and freely committed horrendous crimes with the only purpose of enjoying the torture and gaining attention without being caught. Park Jung Je is only a victim of abuse by his mother, who can do any bad deed to hide her son mistakes that can threaten her political career. Lee Chang Jin, it is a thug that wants to become rich and can do anything for money. Han Ki Hwan only wants a higher position within the police agency and can get rid of anyone preventing him from getting there. Lee Dong Shik and Han Joo Won, they both do things that are no within the law in order to get their revenge or to capture a criminal. All this people have serious psychological problems, even causing the death of people with or without intention. However, Kang Jin Mook is at a different level. He is someone that would never stop causing harm because he feels pleasure in doing so and seeing people suffering . That's why I can't forgive they killed him too early and left behind as if his crimes were not that important and put all the attention in the corruption of those with power. This is my reason to give this drama an 8 and not a 10.

I agree with you in many aspects and I also enjoyed the drama , but as I said, I didn't like how it unravelled at the end. Of course this is my personal taste and it doesn't mean the drama doesn't deserve a 10 as for other people, but not for me.

It's not an exaggeration if viewers would like to give this drama a 10. It's a personal preference. If you think,…
I didn't tell anyone how they have to rate this drama, I just made a comment stating that from my views it was a bit overrated. I didn't say that it was a bad drama, I gave it a 8 because I think it was good but for me it could have be better. I am currently watching Mouse and if it does not mess up at the end it will be probably for me far better than Beyond Evil.

This is a good thriller, with an interesting storyline and fantastic acting. However, I think tagging it as a masterpiece or giving a 10 in the reviews is a bit exaggerate. This drama has some flaws and room for improvement to deserve such score. I personally think it is a bit draggy and as other reviewer mentioned, not all episodes were interesting and necessary. For me the drama lost its mystery by the end and the finale was predicted and boring. Since Kang Jin Mook death in episode 8, it took too long to catch the others responsible for Lee Dong Shik's sister death. Somehow, when the drama ends, it seems that everybody forgot about the serial killer's horrendous crimes and gives more attention to the involvement of higher officials and politicians to cover up the truth. So , even when Joo Won's father accidentally run over Lee Dong Shik's sister and Lee Chang Jin committed various murders to hide the truth, there are still typical acts of corruption of high rank officials and their hitmen. I would have preferred if their punishment was given to all of them at the same time or at least in the last episodes, to have a more thrilling ending.

We are just in half of the drama and Jin Mook has been caught as the killer, so I wonder what will happens in the other half. I guess there is other killer, since Dong shik's sister apparently wasn't a victim of Jin Mook.

It is good to have a real intake of what it means psychopathy. I agree with you that often dramas use illnesses giving a false image that does not correspond with the reality. Thank you for your valuable contribution.

Yes, I thought the same, that is Joo Dan Tae who took off her oxygen. But I wonder if she is really dead. They buried her too quickly and I think, perhaps Logan Lee saved her and made everybody think she died to keep her save someone else.
