Title Fatal Promise Spoiler
LMFAOOOOOO I HATED HER!!!
The fact that there's not ONE but TWO toxic chaebol families makes the drama interesting but like you said, way too many characters! I had to actually draw out a relationship chart for this one!

As for why I hate Hyewon? I guess it's because I work in healthcare so I'm extremely biased but Hyewon(and Junhyuk) "playing God" by messing with the surgery priority list is a huge ethics violation. That was part of the reason but the bigger sin was her (illegally) strong arming a MINOR into donating her father's organs.... The robotic way was Hyewon was speaking to Eundong in that scene was borderline sociopathic and it didn't help that it was juxtaposed against Eundong being emotional

Not to mention her blowing off the check up with the chairman (and him subsequently having a heart attack) gotta love patient neglect! Myeonghee ripping her to shreds afterwards was what inspired my original comment.

Hyewon comes off as someone who became a doctor just for the money / status and not because she wants to help people (perfect villain imo). At minimum this drama better end with Hyewon losing her medical license.

Junhyuk is despicable as well lol he matches Hyewon more than Taein ever could. He is the puppet master of this whole thing...

LMFAOOOOOO I HATED HER!!!
I usually like the 2FLs better than the FLs but Hyewon? NOPE. I'm actively hoping Eundong ruins her life once she gains power...

Until then, Jooran and Myeonghee ripping into her will have to do lol

Title The Secret House Spoiler
One of the most evil chaebol families I have EVER seen in a daily drama... like, wow.
I will probably be getting snowed in on Sunday so I'm 100% going to use that to watch some episodes.

You say it gets hella messy? 👀Here I was thinking the way Taehee's birth secret was messily entertaining but you mean to tell me it gets even more makjang?? I'm strapping in

Yup, today's episode was pretty much filler. What was Young-chae blackmailing Se-mi with? I'm not sure nor do…
Oh yeah they call it "hell joseon" for a reason lol

A real life case would be Jung Yoora. She was the daughter of Choi Sunshil who more or less was a shaman who influenced state affairs due to her friendship with the then president of SK (Park Geunhye) The whole scandal is a lot and you might already know about it, BUT I'm pretty convinced that Youngchae was partially inspired by her:

Title The Secret House Spoiler
Oh shit!! MINYOUNG HAS A SISTER?! LET'S GOOOO
More random observations:
- Taehyung is such a mamas boy lmao. I really do like how one of the main themes of this show is mothers and sons but his relationship with Sookjin is twisted (and I love watching it)
- Jihwan is literally the only person who is in Taehee's corner so I get the obsession.
-Taehyung is wild trying to slap Taehee like she was right when she said Sookjin would've gotten exposed anyway
- speaking of which, that was one of the best makjang DNA test reveals I've ever seen. Grandpa pulling out the real results after just letting Sookjin talk her shit? Iconic
- sorry to say but Kyungsun/Jihwans mom is starting to annoy me. I'm on episode 75 so I have 49 episodes left of this. Highkey hoping either Sookjin clips her or something because I'd rather not hear her squeal about Chanwoo for the rest of the drama 💀
- the scene where Taehyung runs after Minyoung's lookalike was shot pretty well you can definitely tell he's shook up lol
- Seo Hajoon and Lee Seungyeon have excellent "cat and mouse" chemistry with each other. I love seeing them go at it lol
- this must be Korean hierarchy at work but it's crazy how Kwangmi can say/do shady things but no one says anything to her. (Housekeepers usually stay in the shadows when it comes to chaebol households) Like Sol is pretty smart and she's talked back to adults before, I'm surprised she didn't question Kwangmi taking obvious pictures of Kyungsun lol, or when Kwangmi said OUT LOUD, "I need to send these!"
- I don't believe for a second that Sookjin is out the house for good.
- I feel like I'm going to like Annie Brown a lot lol. I can't wait to see how she "helps" Jihwan
- SPEAKING OF SOL... she just may be my least favorite child character of all time. She talks back WAY too much and it comes off as disrespectful. Her turning down Taehee comes off as bratty. Yeah I said it, I think Sol is a brat (and I don't use that term lightly). Juhong is wild for trying to turn Taehee buying a phone for her into a "you're buying her affection" thing. No, this is a "Sol is being difficult" thing. Taehee *has* tried to talk to Sol before but Sol completely shut her down. That's kdrama weirdness I guess - in real life Sol would have to adapt to Taehee not the other way around... watching Sol get away with this behavior and the story trying gaslight me into thinking she's justified is crazy work. (Can you tell I feel strongly about this? 😭)
- yeah Kyungsun needs to be taken out lol, since when was having dementia a free pass to go through someone's stuff? I get Sookjin's anger especially since Kyungsun's rummaging though her stuff, GOING THROUGH HER SAFE, wearing her clothes, etc. But wait, if makjangs taught me anything it's that the best way to handle dementia patients is to let the patient do whatever they want and then be shocked and surprised when they end up in some shit 🙄 the wild thing is in this drama they actually hired a caregiver but she doesn't seem to be doing her job. Ironically, during the phone debacle, Taehee buying the phone for Kyungsun is something I'm surprised that Juhong didn't do/suggest (since she is a doctor and went to med school). I wonder if Juhong would also consider Taehee getting Kyungsun the phone as her trying to buy her affection, instead of like, you know, keeping her safe.
(Its giving queens house where Yookyung would just allow Jayoung to roam free despite being a doctor who should know how dangerous it is to let a dementia patient wander around town... alone!)
- Not Lee Dong Cheol being played by JUNG CHAN...?! suddenly I'm interested in this storyline
-I also realize I can't stand it when Juhong gets self-righteous like it's hands down the most annoying part of her personality... But it doesn't help that I'm a Taehee shooter 😜

Title Woman in a Veil Spoiler
I have unmasked the woman in the veil because I have finished this drama!Just as expected, my opinion did not…
One thing is for sure, if I rewatch The Two Sisters I am watching it on my laptop so I can easily fast forward through all the scenes with Hyeji's parents 🤣 I will NOT be giving them a second chance

OMG how could I forget about Princess Aurora! I remember reading soompi articles calling it the screenwriters Death Note because she killed off an insane amount of characters including the ML BUT didn't even tell the actors. And the nepotism drama too since iirc one of the characters ended dup being related to her 😭

I gotta look into Feed Me/Give Me Food. I've never heard of it before but that title is interesting lol

Juhong is definitely good! I just didn't include her because she married into the family lol

The maid is definitely a hustler that's for sure. I wonder how far she's going to get 😭

This will probably be the next drama on my list that I end up finishing. The darker tone really does hook you in!

What happened to SBS dailies was so tragic. Phoenix 2020... I wonder if I should give it a go. I watched up to about the part Jieun's dad got ran over.

Secret House has me wanting to see more of Seo Hajoon and I'd rather watch Phoenix 2020 than The Two Sisters. I need a new controversial daily drama to watch lol, what's another one to add to my list 😭

Title A Graceful Liar Spoiler
I said it before I’ll say it again … nansuk needs some actual thugs around her if she’s gonna be taken seriously…
Thanks for bringing up a glaring plot hole that I’ve never considered - nansook, being a loan shark would absolutely have gangsters at her beck and call. Because how else would she shake down people who don’t pay her back on time?

I agree we still have all those questions to be answered and plot lines to be addressed. I just hope they are answered over the next four weeks and this drama doesn’t fall into the “let’s wait until the last three episodes to wrap everything up “ trap

Yup, today's episode was pretty much filler. What was Young-chae blackmailing Se-mi with? I'm not sure nor do…
Damn I thought I replied lol but remember in the beginning of the drama, when both Youngchae and Jeongwon both applied to Kunhyang in the original blind hiring ? And how Youngchae got the job but not Jeongwon?
That was Semi’s doing. Even tho Hyera wanted a total blind process, semi still filtered the applications by education anyway. Which is why Youngchae got hired despite not having the talent - because she went to Royal Art (which I imagine to be basically FIT lol)

Youngchae is blackmailing her because it would cause controversy if that was leaked to the media. Since people passing over graduates from mid or low tier colleges in favor of graduates from SKY universities - Seoul national university, yonsei university and Korea university - is something that happens a lot in SK

Besides what you suggested ... the twin sister of Sehoon's birth mother shows up, seeking revenge
I heard... I didn't make it that far lol. I would hope that the writer from AGL could pull it off better (even tho the bar is LOW)

I’m beginning to think they are running out of story lines so they’re recycling them from earlier episodes.…

Title A Graceful Liar Spoiler
This episode felt ... repetitive. My personal highlights were:
Jeongwon baiting Sehoon to "try harder and kill her properly next time", (because it further drives home just how inept of a villain Sehoon is)
Nansook confronting Sehoon at the end... He's cooked. RIP it was nice knowing you. Like it's been well established that Nansook loves Haneul more than life itself. Screenwriter PLEASE don't disappoint me with what happens next!

As for the repetitiveness; I guess we've reached that point in the daily where we get filler until the final climax. Some of it was pretty nice to see like Jeongwon and Haneul but some of it was just meh, like Hyera. I wonder how many more scenes we will get of her staring at Taeseok and thinking about what she will do to him? Lets bring their storyline back into Kunhyang because their corporate drama is much more interesting.

Speaking of Kunhyang. Maybe it's because this drama is full of active sinners but the screenwriter could've come with something more ... excitng for Youngchae to blackmail Semi with. Because quite frankly Semi's "crime" pales in comparison to things like attempted murder, actual murder, embezzlement and identity theft. But if this is what gets us out of this hamster wheel of "Jin Taeseok is bad let's just talk about it" I'll take it. Tomorrow's episode seems to focus more on the design team... and we're going to revisit the Youngchae stealing designs storyline. Hopefully she gets exposed lol

It’s not a pride thing that she has to kill him cause he was tied up and could have easily gotten rid of him…
Yes I am! The first time I ever watched a daily was in 2010 with pink lipstick but I was too young to understand the art form of the makjang at the time lol

To answer your question the only other times a makjang has made me angry was when:
- The first time I watched The Promise, I rage quit it because Dohee got killed

&

- the two sisters - the dad should've sought custody for both of his daughters instead of assuming a gambling addict would be a responsible mother. And it PMO because the story made it seem like he was such a good dad

&

The last 20 or so episodes of Woman in a Veil aka How Not to Write a Daily Drama 💀💀💀

Hyera setting Taeseok free is mind-boggling... Especially since he strangled her afterwards. But it's okay, because Mihyang and her tofu and salt will save the day 😂

Like this may be the first or second time I've actually felt angry at a daily drama (and I've seen a lot)
