I feel like "let's switch for just one day" is going to turn into "Hwayoung kills Seorin thinking that she's Jangmi" and that'll set us up for Jangmi's revenge incarnate era... I'm not seeing it! Jangmi is too soft to get revenge rn. Bokchil dying didn't raise the stakes as much as I thought it would. Seorin and/or Sukhee dying might. Although... The highlight of this episode was watching Seorin and Jangmi hang out with each other.... I really want them both to live to the end, and keep switching places and scheming together. I hope neither of the twins die... they are hands down the most interesting part of the drama rn.
The "wedding" dinner felt waaaaay too long and drawn out. We need to get to the part of the makjang where there's a "planning team" formed so that Hongju can start getting jealous of Jangmi and actually do something of interest. Until then there's only one (1) villain in this drama and that's Chae Hwayoung.
Random thought - I wonder if Hongju's dad will eventually show up. I don't think it was ever mentioned what happened to him lol
As for tomorrow's episode, besides the switch, I feel like Taesook accepting Youngja's settlement money is going to bite the family in the ass and may compromise the investigation. (Since the makjang drama playbook dictates if you're a good character you must reject all settlements no matter how down bad you are ๐ญ) I meant it when I said Taesook is the realest person in that house because she wasn't wrong when she said that the money wouldn't bring her dad back but it will keep the store open. I'm looking forward to seeing the fallout from Youngja buying the Oh family's silence ... you know Baekho won't take this sitting down lol
My thoughts and this is long because it's 35 episodes worth lol:-Seorin is definitely my favorite of the twins.…
I feel like she's the center of the entire story in a sense? I feel like she has the strongest narrative of the main characters right now. But maybe that'll change when then revenge starts haha
My thoughts and this is long because it's 35 episodes worth lol:-Seorin is definitely my favorite of the twins.…
I agree. The stakes would be higher if Hongju was a cousin of Seorin (and Jangmi)
Right now Samwol and Hongju feel like weak attempts at comedic relief ... there has to be something more than ... whatever their grift is supposed to be because right now I don't care for either lol
I see I decided to catch up on this at the perfect time because the preview for tomorrow's episode is exciting…
My thoughts and this is long because it's 35 episodes worth lol: -Seorin is definitely my favorite of the twins. She's smarter than she lets on from taking matters into her own hands to questioning why Hwayoung was suddenly softer on Junho. Also I love her "shit!" lol as for her sis I neither like or dislike Jangmi but that'll probably change as the two switch places tomorrow. -Speaking of, Eunjung is putting in work! Jangmi and Seorin feel like they're played by two different people. - originally I thought this would be like the promise where the twin switch is triggered by the rich twin dying. (ngl I was holding my breath as Seorin did her investigation) But technology has advanced well enough and Eunjung is a good enough actress that there's a possibility both twins will live to the end? If so, I think this would be a daily drama first. - I still have beef with Seo Hyunjoo (the writer) and it mostly shows between the "romance" scenes between Baekho and Jangmi. Seo Hyunjoo's dramas always feel so dated when it comes to how the FL and ML bond with each other so I've been using that fast forward button liberally. When it comes to the fluff scenes I honestly feel like I'm watching a drama from 2009 ๐ฅด - this affair storyline with nambong is?!?? I didn't ask for it but I'll never say no to more Jung Chan (even tho nambong is wilding out). I wonder if he's going to simp for Hwayoung so hard that he ends up on the dark side or if he'll repent. Either way he's cooked. - how about Mr Cold City Man Junho being Hwayoung's son? Admittedly I was getting annoyed by how much he talks back but I got re-interested once Hwayoung called him out for his ambition.... And Junho didn't disagree! I also feel like that scene where he was like "even tho the real son (Baekho) is trying to get dad arrested for murder the parents still listen to him" or something to that effect is foreshadowing... - side characters... When it comes to Jangmi's family I like Taesook and Bora. Taepyung I'm neutral towards. I still hate Sukhee and it's even more jarring now that Bora is here because Bora acts more mature than Sukhee does. "Fun" drinking game, take a shot every time Sukhee says "Jangmi is pretty" or "Jangmi is my daughter" bet you won't make it past episode 15...! - bokchil being the first fatality was not surprising considering how he didn't read the makjang drama playbook and tried to let Hwayoung know he knows what's going on. I hope Sukhee is next but she probably won't be... But RIP bokchil I actually liked him lol - Ma household: I thought I would like Hongju because I USUALLY like the villainous female characters but I don't like her and I REALLY don't like Samwol. I feel like Hongju will become more interesting whenever she realizes Baekho likes Jangmi. Samwol is a joke and I fast forward through her scenes (that clownish music that plays is a dead give away). You're a mother in law without getting married? Don't make me laugh. - side note but I also find it interesting that the maid keeps showing up with bruises on her face (it's implied that she faces domestic violence) and the Ma family is either critical or apathetic. I feel like Jangmi (pretending to be Seorin) will raise a red flag when she sees it and expresses concern (and maybe she can link her up with Baekho so she can stop getting beaten). That's the only reason why I can think of as to why they keep showing her - Hwayoung. I feel like this is is her show and she is the main character. I'm not complaining tho because I'm tagging along for the ride. Especially now that her goal has now shifted to acquiring Dream Group for Junho. Oh any scene where she comes for Samwol adds a year to my lifespan. Her reactions to Samwol are literally the same as mine when I can't get to the remote in time ๐. Also it's funny how she positioned herself as a benefactor to the Oh family but no one has thought to question it! - I like Baekho for sticking to his principles and for questioning the investigation (probably because he feels more like a detective than a lawyer). I think I might end up liking him more than Junho lol. I also find it funny that Yoon Sunwoo has now played the ML to two ex-2nd gen idols - Oh Seungah (the third marriage) and now Eunjung.
My verdict after watching 35 episodes over the past week: Basically it's a slow burn of slow burns (as expected from Seo Hyunjoo, it takes a while for her dramas to start) but things are slowly starting to pick up. I have to say that I'm liking this way better than the last two dramas that were in this time slot - by episode 50 I had dropped that TWTSTS and I didn't make it past episode 18 of Desperate Ms Seonju. At least with this one I'm looking forward to the next episode.... so an improvement.
Will this be the first MBC daily I finish live instead of abandoning it? ๐ค Its looking like it....
And if I may ask, where are you watching this? ๐
I was using asiaflix but that started acting weird so I had to look for a new site... I miss the days when you had lots of sites to choose from and not this needle in a haystack shit ๐ญ
She's going to be my favorite character I'm calling it now ๐ญ
Oh yeah romance can make or break a daily hopefully this doesn't "break" it...
The new teaser looks so good and I've noticed that the name on the urn was Kim Danhee. Myeonghee being the mistress makes this way more interesting to me because originally I thought she was a whistleblower.
Not to mention the teaser quality is giving weekend drama. I'm loving how this and A Graceful Liar are getting a little experimental with their cinematography
Idk who is behind this daily drama Renaissance over at KBS but I hope they work at KBS for a long time ๐
What do you think Grandma Hong means by "Young-Chae and Se-Hun will be prosperous when they are together alone"?…
They get a somewhat happy ending but it means they have to leave Korea? Like maybe Sehoon decides to move abroad because outside of SK no one will give a shit that he's not actually the son of Kunhyang and it'll allow Youngchae to get away from Nansook
Not giving us a preview after ending the episode with Youngchae finally posting the video of Taeseok pushing Jeongwon off the building is diabolical ๐ญ
Much to the surprise of nobody Sehoon fails at killing Taeseok BUT it comes with the added cost of Jungwon becoming Taeseok's favorite child. (ngl I loved it when Jeongwon was like "this is an opportunity")
Sehoon gets kicked out of both the Jin and Gong households, and per Grandma Hong, "Youngchae and Sehoon will be prosperous when they are together alone." (This is definitely foreshadowing I can feel it), and Jeongwon and Nansuk know that Youngchae is pregnant. Youngchae also has a little bit of a mental breakdown in this episode, triggered by the words "fashion show".
btw I can't stand manager hwang ๐ it's okay to watch and be complicit with Taeseok's evil acts which lead to the death of OG Jungwon die but putting laxatives in a drink is where we draw the line? come on now ๐ญ
Tomorrow: Sehoon takes another L - at minimum, he is losing his title. Also, Jin Jungwon is born.
you know I for one will be very surprised if Sehoon actually kills Taeseok tomorrow. Will he finally succeed at committing an evil deed? Probably not but we will see~!
I love how neurotic Hyebin is lol but I like how they really get into her psyche (so the "rich 2FL being jealous of the poor orphan FL" trope has some weight here). don't really care about jeongim (yet) or the MLs tbh the most interesting storyline rn is whatever is happening with the chaebol family + the affair. mooyeol has potential to become a crazy villain as well lol
"Your painting has no sincerity" the MIL was foul for this especially since art is subjective? (i mean shit, this is why i legitimately like daily makjang dramas when they're unpopular amongst international drama fans LOL)
i just finished episode 10 and I have to say i am liking it so far. And of course, you know I gotta shout out JUNG CHAN !!
This episode was SO GOOD! Writer Lee was cooking ๐ฅ๐ฅ between Se-Hun getting decked by karma, Young-Chae's…
I absolutely love how Nansuk and Hyera's relationship evolved and I will absolutely miss them when the drama ends ๐ญ
As for Youngchae it's a little late in the game for her to discover she's pregnant so I seriously doubt she'll carry that baby to term. I feel like this is probably going to set her up for some kind of redemption which is triggered by her losing her baby. Or maybe it's a phantom pregnancy brought on by the psychological stress ๐
Re: the comedic relief in this drama actually being funny. I still can't stand Mihyang or her stalker with a crush BUT Manager Gu is worth his weight in gold ๐คฃ he's actually become one of my favorite characters
Hoping we can hit 11% in viewer ratings over the next two weeks, I think it's possible!
This drama is going to inspire me to make two new lists: Daily Drama FL Hall of Fame - because I like Eundong as an FL and Wildest Chaebol Villains (because junhyuk really thinks he's the joker ๐ญ)

I can't believe that scene with Mihyang and Manager Hwang was foreshadowing ๐คฎ
Especially when she starts crashing out lol
You listing out all of Sehoon's Ls really puts it in perspective because he really has not wised up over the course of 92 episodes ๐คฃ
