Once I heard that South Korean society is very violent. I can see this now! How come someone suffering from mental illness gets such a harsh punishment??? His career is also completely distroied. I hope that when he gets released there will be people that love him waiting outside and ready to support him.
Four episodes and I had fun!! FL is awesome! And I thought the ML was weird at the beginning but the actor fits well in his role. Hope it keeps the same pace until the end (:
Production, direction, screenplay would be perfect if they didn't do such a poor edition, specially at the second half. But still it is a great drama, specially because of its focus on sisterhood and gender/classes/castes social differences, and on culture (food, tea, dance, music). Cast also did an amazing job from leading to supporting actresses/actors, and that is why I think a better editing would be more fair to some characters (eg.ML, Xu Ouyang, Gao Hui, Xiao Wei, Sun San Niang...).
Liu Xue Yi acting was pretty decent, I liked his eyes expressions. It didn't bother me others couples stories, there was no unnecessary dramatic tensions. But they could have worked better characters depth and show more layers. Too much time was spent with the brother and his friend and little explanation on how Fang Qi changes the image of a little brother to boyfriend, for example.
I wish it had more episodes exploring characters depth and their multilayered aspects. It also had really interesting and healing conversations. I've missed watching this kind of drama with more realistic approach to life, where everyone has their flaws. The idea of a script inside another script also was really cool.
Ryan Ren has revealed himself a great actor! Never payed attention to him, he is so young!! I'm very curious to see his next steps. The cell scenes and his conversation through the mirror (ep19) with Jin Jing Xue were just perfect! Production is 10/10 too.
In the C-drama "Snowfall" (2024), we see a conclusion that is either sad or open-ended, depending on interpretation,…
Because death is not exactly a tragedy if you consider non-western/non-christian cultures ;) K-dramas also have sad endings, like Moon Lovers, The Red Sleeve, but my guess is that they became more "western" in the last few years.
It is a 10/10 for me so far (8 episodes). It has a kind of a gothic noir atmosphere, with nice characters, interesting screenplay, good actors/actress performances, and cool action scenes. FL is doing great but also the actors in support roles and second leads.
I am so sorry for him. He is really a great actor, one of the best in South Korea. I wish they had better laws to deal with this kind of problem and weren't so harsh on public figures such as artists.
This is one of the best of all times. You will be devastated at the end, it is like a Greek tragedy that would make Shakespeare cry in the bathroom. But isn't it what art is all about? Direction, production, OST, and specially actresses and actors killed it!! Also perfect for when you need to cry your soul out. Prepare some tissue paper, chocolate and water (this one for when you get nervous at some characters behavior) ;)
People are review-bombing this show already. I noticed that as soon as a new netflix kdrama is released, there…
I don't know about imdb, or if there is any relation with k-dramas being showed in Netflix, but sometimes people here act like a fandom. Other times I see people commenting after watching 1 or 2 episodes, which in my opinion is not enough to rate a whole drama, or just review-bombing for the pleasure of criticizing Asian dramas.
I enjoyed watching this and liked its ending. I only wish we could understand better Tae Oh and In Ha friendship. It always seemed to me it was more like a pragmatic relation, than brotherhood. Maybe with more episodes there would be more space to build the characters, including Na Hye Won...And Hee Jo deserved more at the end. In general, plot twists were fun to watch.
Beautiful OST, nice photography and great acting. But some important details about Grand Commandant Jia motivations were delivered at the last minute. I was also expecting more on the side effects due to body change (is witchcraft that easy?), and the death of SML broke my heart, it was unnecessary. But I liked it overall, the love and trust between Pan Yue and Cai Wei, the female leaders were smart and brave the whole time (nonexistent jealously between them was a plus), the difficult relation between Pan Yue and his father showed in a sensible way, and the last scene was pretty cool!! If you like romance with a bit of adventure, and gorgeous main characters, just go for it!!
Surprisingly good! I was expecting a family and revenge drama, but it was all about sistherhood. Characters are very coherent and relatable, and the situations portrayed are very close to reality in the business world. I must confess that I binged watched it during the weekend, I needed to see those women win over that bastard husband :)
Based on your faves it seem like you enjoy melodramas/slice of life, try watching: Lost, Call It Love and Our…
Yes, I also loved Lost, Call it Love and Our Blues. My Mister and My Liberation Notes are also on my list of favorites. I don't understand why people hated Interest of Love so much. It is actually good.
Production is 10/10 too.
K-dramas also have sad endings, like Moon Lovers, The Red Sleeve, but my guess is that they became more "western" in the last few years.
