Seen better but not bad. There are cute scenes at the first half but then SFL apperas and it takes an unexpected turn, the ending at least is kind of happy. For me the best "romance" was between the little boy and the FL. They were so cute and natural together.
I believe that if this movie had been made in the Western world, everyone would be praising it. Director, actress, and screenwriter Jia Ling deserves a standing ovation for this inspirational film. In a more conservative industry where women have even fewer opportunities in roles like directing, she seized her chance and put everything into making something truly remarkable.
As a regular gym-goer, I can appreciate the immense effort and dedication it took for her to transform from being overweight into an athlete. This wasn’t just about losing weight or getting thin—it was about pushing herself to become an athlete, which in itself is an extraordinary achievement. That alone would deserve a standing ovation, but she went even further, embedding this transformation into a deeply motivational film.
The movie conveys a powerful message: strive to be your best self, improve every day, and never believe it’s too late. You only live once—take your chance, don’t let others bring you down, and remember that if you’re willing to put in the effort, you can achieve more.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone put this much dedication into their work. Jia Ling fully deserves all the success and recognition this film has brought her.
Once again, the ratings on this forum feel like a joke. This drama has an 8.2, while shows like Castaway Diva are rated 8.4? This is an outstanding drama with profound messages. It’s truly unforgettable, and I can’t recommend it enough.
I'm wondering the same. She probably suffers the "too tall" to be main female lead lol.
Why would her height be an issue? Lee Yo Won and Go Hyun Jung are just as tall and are consistently cast as leads. She’s a really talented actress, but she has a colder vibe—not the typical heroine type, in my opinion—which makes it harder to find lead roles for her.
She is beautiful but why cant she train her face muscles to show emotion like pain, shock, misery/miserable, hurt,…
Fascinating how people can perceive the same face so differently. To me, her emotions are crystal clear and unmistakable, and her eyes are the most expressive I have ever seen.
The bride of Habaek was also really good if you like a great romance story. On this forum it is very underrated but on viki for example is over 9 based on more than a 100 thousands viewers opinion.
Oh, and the first 12 episodes of Black Knight are really good. After that, the pace slows down a bit, and many people rate it lower because of the sad ending. It’s truly heartbreaking, but that’s exactly why I think it’s great—because it evokes such strong emotions.
The director and/or the writers were on drugs probably but the actors were really great. ML and FL both have their issues but lovable characters. The FL is so nice, Shin Sae Kyeong was really a great choice for the role.
You shouldn't worry about whether you're the only one with this opinion or not—taste is subjective, and your feelings are valid. Everyone should respect that. However, just because multiple people believe something doesn't make it true. For example, consider the many people who still believe the Earth is flat.
You clearly dislike the main actress. Why not just skip this? Why keep coming back to leave negative comments repeatedly? I'm not judging, just curious.
One of the very few k-actors who compelled me to look up their name and explore more of their work. She has a truly unique presence and immense potential, though I feel she hasn’t fully tapped into it yet. I’m definitely eager to follow and watch all her future projects.
