so, I just finished watching SIX FLYING DRAGONS. is this show worth watching? how much worth is watching this…
This is probably Kim Tae Hee's better works I would say. How she portrays her character has a lot of richness. You see her more in a 3D light, most main actresses you see often have one side and it's either a super innocent, nice girl, a lazy messy clumsy kind of obnoxious girl, or a super cute and shy girl. Otherwise, they play the antagonist. Kim Tae Hee's role in this drama is more 3D and unique. Most of her work has been of bold characters, which probably explains why she was casted in this drama. All in all, you see all sorts of side to her in the drama that you may or may not like.
If you're looking around for a good historical drama... well as you can see most people like it. Highly recommended. I've been watching dramas for over about close to 10 years, typically there are always mixed reviews with long period dramas, this one, as you can already tell has swept the hearts of its viewers. No one will regret watching this. I watched this while it aired, it's different watching a drama while it's airing compared to when you're binge watching. When you watch while it's airing, you're always anxiously waiting to watch the next episode. When you binge it can get mundane because you're watching it constantly unless the reason why you're bingeing is because it's so good. I'd rewatch this again another time. One thing I'd note though is the romance is quite slow but it's very passionate. You will definitely enjoy this drama!
OMG, a drama that Shin Se Kyung is mute. I've been disappointed in most of her dramas because of her expresionless face and I've never thought to give her a 6th chance until I heard of her role in here! lol maybe I might finally find her to my liking in this drama!
I would like to ask a couple of drama fans who are a little more knowledgeable in historical dramas then I am.…
Antagonists always help give plot to the story otherwise there'd be no story unless you're expecting a forever happy, little to no problem drama. lol plus, I've learned to appreciate all the evil characters, they help build the main character and give meaning to the plot. On top of that, you find that those actors are really talented at acting evil. It's so fun even though it can be annoying and ashfakjsdfkajdsf. I feel you though.

Dramas are different when you watch it a couple years later. The world runs pretty fast and certain trends end while some new ones start. As for historical not so much the history and culture but the directing and focus as well as the creativity of the story trends change over time. I watched this drama while it was airing and it was by far one of my favorite historical dramas. I've been watching dramas for almost over 10 years now, of course I'm not able to watch every single one out there but I can tell you that I've observed enough actors and actresses, seen enough dramas to be able to compare to a good handful of other dramas out there, this particular drama by far you won't be as disappointed as you would other dramas. Some dramas today don't even compare to the talent of these two main characters. And since you just finished six flying dragons, you won't be disappointed at all with Yoo Ah In in this one. :)
She's not the worst actress out there, she's not ugly but in almost all her dramas she has an expressionless face that almost says nothing most of the time... Some of her dramas had strong story lines but her acting and her presence made it hard to watch and bear... no hate on her, I'm pretty disappointed, gave her several chances to see her improvements, maybe she's good behind the scenes, but if that's the case the director needs to catch her skills or put her in the right roles that will best suit her. I always feel like she doesn't put her entire self out there. And if she does, maybe it's just the way her face looks that doesn't allow her to give off a strong acting presence. She's a beautiful woman and I can see why some say she's talented, I mean she did get casted /pair with other great actors out there. I've seen her in fashion king, sensory couple, when a man loves, and now haebaek, for the most part I've been disappointed because those storylines were pretty strong but how she displays herself in her character roles are not fitting for the story. If that's the directors want to present the character of the story, then sure. Maybe I'm not watching her best works but I've given her 4-5 chances and out of those few I have been rarely impressed with her character build. I'm sorry Shin Se Kyung, I guess I had lots of hope for you. I really hope you do better with more fitting roles for you. <3
Omg. you've no idea how much I agree with you. She's pretty but her acting skills have rarely improved, gave her so many chances, I've been disappointed in Fashion King, When a man loves, scent, and now Habeaek.... I swear.... I mean maybe I'm not watching her best works but I've already given her 4-5 chances... cmon Shin Se Kyung....
Same! I had been eyeing this drama a little before it came out. I wasn't too fond of the cast but I recognized the main actress from a singing show (kpopstar) and she did quite well (didn't make it though) I curious to see how she made it into a main role and how her acting was so I decided to watch and the concept seemed interesting and light hearted. But I think I was more disappointed. I did enjoy the first half of the drama but that's typical of most dramas, it's normally difficult to keep audiences watching when you have most of the plot down already and to the audience most of the plot has already been revealed. I had to force myself too so I skimmed through it. It was definitely light hearted but it dragged and got redundant. I'd watch these two actors again but probably in different genres, I think they would do better with a more mellow or even dark themed drama. :)
I think in terms of how strong the storyline was it was actually very weak but very strong in philosophical views. I didn’t like how there was the teacher student relationship but what made me love the concept was that he was willing to wait and not do anything inappropriate. I still think it’s odd though if in the future after you graduate, your teacher asks you out! Lol And yes I think these two had great chemistry as their character role AND as actor(ess)! And I totally agree that it could have been cut down to the typical 16 ep drama. Casting was good and shin hye definitely had a new kind of role instead of being the typical humble and clumsy girl in almost every other drama out there. Much respect to Kim Rae Won. I wasn’t very fond of him at first but after watching him I’m impressed and have respect for him. He’s quite good looking, like my mom says, he has a deeper kind of handsome that doesn’t always come at first glance. This is my first time seeing him in anything so he’s off to a great first impression for me. Loved his humble character. After seeing Lee Sung Kyung in Cheese in the Trap I was afraid, like literally afraid of her (I know I’m exaggerating lol but literally too). I was kind of shocked at how obnoxious her character was. I was like “Wow she does this character so well I wonder if this is how she normally is!” but then again, actress are actresses. My impression of her definitely changed after seeing her role in this drama. She was more calm and not so crazy. Phew, thank God! LOVED Yoon Do’s one sided love situation and how he went about it. I’m so glad that there was no conspiracy revenge type of love affair going on with Seo Woo and Hye Jung. Music was pretty good and no I would not rewatch this again because the storyline wasn’t too strong but I’d keep an eye for the next drama of these characters.
It was definitely odd watching Kim Sae Eon with Yoon Shi Yoon who was 16 years older. No doubt, they actually look pretty descent together, only if she was much older. But her acting skill and talent brought her to this main lead role which is pretty impressive at her age.
